I love this place! I have had a few business lunches there which have been excellent. But have also taken a very large group there for dinner - also excellent! The food is extraordinary and the service is very professional. I even love the tiny complimentary cookies on the way out! Any one who dines here will not be disappointed! More

Although the menu is not large, we all found options that we liked. Among the four of us, we had duck breast, scallops, veal, and roasted acorn squash. Meals were large enough that we were all full, and everything was delicious. We also appreciated the relatively small size of the dining room, and the fact that the noise level was low. Being able to look at various photo exhibits after the meal was an added plus. More

Vegan | Downtown, District of Columbia

The service was impeccable. We were first greeted by the bartender upon entering the restaurant. He was so welcoming and made us feel instantly at ease and comfortable. He was also incredibly patient with our drink orders and preferences. As for the food, all the dishes were quite creative and interesting, showcasing multiple ingredients and techniques. However, there were still a couple of "misses" among the many "hits." This didn't put a damper on the experience though. Would definitely recommend anyone go to sample the spectrum of vegan/raw cuisine, even if they're not vegan (I'm certainly not). More

Harold Black is always solid. Dark, intimate, and a bit away from the touristy crowd, it's a great escape in DC. The last few times I went, it seemed that the tourists might have found it, but this time it was mostly locals. Had a quiet drink with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I didn't get to sit at the bar, which is sad, because watching the bartenders make the cocktails is half the experience. Still, my drink was light and refreshing (if a little sweet), the atmosphere was chill, and I very much enjoyed my experience. Definitely will return. More

Off the record, Hawk ’N’ Dove is basically a Washington monument. It reflects an older Washington that believed in politics, not just politicking. Hawk ’N’ Dove is where you can sip an Old Fashioned, hear political talk, and mingle with everyone from the black-suited, brown-shoed lobbyists, to the neighborhood folk that have been in this town since the Carter administration. Our beverages and food selections reflect our local support for this wonderful town, and if you use your imagination, you can almost hear the echo of past conversations from the most powerful people in the free world, spoken over gin and whiskey.More
