Giulia's is a special place, though it not be reserved just for special occasions. Making a reservation is inconvenient -- 12:01 a.m. 2-weeks before you meal. That said, interestingly, there were a few walk-in seats when we were there (on a Monday) -- at the bar (generally in pairs) and at the Club Table (called the Pasta Table). Our server was extraordinary -- ever-smiling, cheerful, experienced, knowledgeable, attentive without being overbearing, thoughtful, ready with recommendations when asked. The manager/credentialed sommelier was also helpful, cheerful, ready with suggestions when asked, and non-judgmental (some som's struggle with that aspect). Recommended without reservation, but don't look for it to be inexpensive

The food here is consistently fabulous. Had the bruschetta, semolina cakes, heirloom tomato salad, and eggplant/goat cheese raviolis. Our family had other dishes that they also loved. Truly fantastic. We did the take home gelato for dessert. What a great idea and fantastic. Only complaint is that we had a very loud somewhat overly enthusiastic waiter. And that's from someone who used to wait tables.

All wonderful, as always. This is the first time I’ve reserved a table instead of sitting at the bar. The process of how to do so described on their site actually worked as promised. The day of our reservation, Giulia’s even called to remind us of the 2 hour time limit on tables and to arrive early since parking takes a while (it does!). I appreciated the up-front reminders meaning they could seat people in time and you would have you full 2 hours. You can’t go wrong with ANY food or wine choice. Wonderful!

We were quite disappointed. The liver crostini where a bit to intense and gamey. The unicorn oysters were delicious. The ravioli with white truffle and ducks wings were good, the pasta was well prepared and fresh, however overall it was nothing exceptional. The worst part of the experience was the "longest acres beef butcher’s cut": The meat was too hard and chewy and we both didn't finish that dish. At this price point we expected much better quality and a considerably larger portion for that dish. The service was good and friendly. The preparation of the dishes was quite fast. The restaurant's ambience was pleasant but nothing memorable or special. I woudn't recommend this restaurant and I wouldn't visit again. There are much better options in Boston.

we like to dine at Guilia every time we visit cambridge. hard to get a table so we try to book in advance online. Guilia is walking distance from harvard square when it is nice out, located in a residential neighborhood but on a busy street. walking is recommended as parking can take a bit of time. ah but the food, the menu is varied and has ingredients we don't normally see at the restaurants we usually go to so this makes it special to visit and try new offerings. we love their desserts so be sure to check their menu. oh, and the entire staff is great. good to see mike again and met cecelia for the first time.
