It was a set meal for New Year’s Eve of oysters, steak and chocolate moose cake and a glass of sparkling wine and it was all delicious!
The dining room was beautifully decorated. The service was perfect and the food was delicious.
We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Globe… food, for all three meals, was very delicious, perfect temperature and more than adequate portions. All staff members were very accommodating, pleasant and highly professional.
Desserts and scones really tasty. Sandwiches were lacking. Service superb and friendly. We were seated off to our own and there wasn’t much to look at. Near food prep station. Prefer to be closer to the fireplace and there was space.
Lovely restaurant at the Vancouver airport. This place is an oasis while you are waiting for a flight.
Great service even being so busy! Food was okay, I’ve had better high tea. But the price cannot be beat so the value is great! Fair warning it’s only one parking ticket per group on purchases. You might want to carpool. And the parking lot is very confusing.
Nice to get away and have afternoon tea with a friend after going to the spa for a pedicure, hot tub & sauna.
Food is probably the best in the airport, but the competiton is pretty pathetic. Ambiance is probably the best in the airport. Great view as well.
It is what it is, hotel dining at premium airport pricing. Great food? No. Good food? Sure. Safe? Yes.
Get the seasonal salad and the burger. Amazing!
Consistently attentive service, quality food and a quiet, comfortable atmosphere.
Mushroom soup was great, Prawn pasta was so spicy it was barely edible, Risotto was not great likewise. Service was good, niced enough room but unfortunately the food was disappointing.
It’s a little bit noisy when we arrived due to a large table with small kids.
But it’s quiet after that table left.
We had great experience upon arrival with hostess who greeted us and our server was nice. We will be back soon
My wife and I took a good friend there for her 90th birthday. We had drinks in the lounge to start then went into the dining room for dinner. Top shelf treatment, food and drink from start to finish. How often do you establish such close links with staff over dinner that the evening ends in hugs all around. What a lovely experience.
Fantastic meal, huge portions and everything was beautifully prepared. The calamari and salmon were perfect!
What a great evening with fantastic food, live music and comfy atmosphere! This place isn't just fir outgoing traveller's, worth the drive just to eat here!
Probably the best place in the airport. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. The service, as always, acceptable. The windows give a view of the airport and the North Shore mountains. They made a very good martini.
food was not very good but the service was excellent. Had hoped for better for a Fairmont!
No better, no worse than most hotel restaurants. Uninspired food.
It was alright. Nothing exceptional. I expected better from the fairmont.
Such a civilized getaway from the airport. A delight to have a musician playing and singing on Friday night. Love this hotel and restaurant!
Melissa was a wonderful server and went out of her way to inquire about a special tart that was in my Mom's little surprise birthday baked item sampler she brought out. I had heard about the Fairmont high tea experience and our visit surpassed our expectations. Thank you again.
Nice ambiance w live music. Great views towards the airport watching the planes. Food is consistently excellent along w service.
Came here for a special occasion. My mom is very critical and so I thought I'd try the Fairmont, since it is known to be a premium brand and we were not disappointed. We all had the prix fixe menu. I ordered steak and my husband ordered halibut so I got to try both. Everything was delicious. Our server was very attentive and went the extra mile, and we tipped her graciously.
Stayed at Fairmont YVR overnight en route to visit relatives in the Kootenays. Met other Vancouver family members for dinner at the Globe between flights, including a 6 year-old, 3 year-old, and a 9-month. Very accommodating with special food requests. The dishes of the menu were also excellent (Halibut, Salmon, Risotto). Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Oksana was our server.
Food presentation was outstanding ,service was incredible, a little pricey but expected, after all is the Fairmont.Would highly recommend
Food was delicious and well prepared. The beer bread is a must try. Server was attentive and seemed to care.
The trio meal deal was superb, mushroom soup nice and creamy, served at perfect temperature.
Pasta with prawns delicious with lots of prawns ( no shells) .
Chocolate cake with strawberries dipped in-chocolate just yummy .
Of course great wine 🍷 to top it all.
The atmosphere, the food and the service was outstanding. The personal where very polite and accommodating. I would highly recommended the Globe for dinner.
It was lovely, however the sandwiches were a bit dry.
Good service and good food but restaurant is very noisy.
Our server was great!! Offered lactose free alternative for our friend that is lactose intolerant. Great service and ambiance! 😍😋
The staff were accommodating in changing our appointment, and also in ensuring we had nice seats (by the window). The service was impeccable, and we were greeted by every worker. No wonder they are an award-winning establishment! The pastries, sandwiches were delicious as always. It's always great to get a variety of savoury, and sweet, and with items I wouldn't typically eat at home (so it was fancier than what I would have usually). The tea was aromatic and soothing. This is always such a nice space to catch up and feel cared for.
Great experience. Must try if you haven’t. Very classy and elegant food, environment and people.
Regular price is $69/pp but with a groupon I paid $69 for two. $35 (reg) for a child set as well.
The Arancini ball was the highlight of the set. Warm soft inside and crisp outside smothered in a tomato sauce and shredded parm. The scones and clotted cream were second in line and were delightfully enjoyed. One of the best clotted creams I’ve had! All cold sandwiches for me were not pleasant at all…(not even the lobster roll)except on the children’s platter was a carved turkey and cheddar. That to me was on point with Fairmont standards. The rest of the cold ones my hungry husband ate it. Our tea selection was: white tea (soft and light) , raspberry lemon verbena (tinge of sourness and bitterness) and the pineapple punch (I forgot the actual name but it was the fruity one of our picks and highly suggested by our server who was on point in being helpful and attentive answering all questions we had and making suggestions.
Meringue lollipop 👍🏾
Chocolate tarts 👍🏾
Strawberry cheesecake in shot glass 👍🏾👍🏾
Macarons (vanilla mango and pistachio) 👍🏾
Vanilla sprinkle cupcake in children’s set was good at best.
This reminded me of two bite cupcakes at the grocery store with how the whipped topping was. Cake part was delicious but it was too bad they didn’t have a browned butter icing. My little one ate it only because she loves sprinkles but reminded me that my cupcakes were better.
Parking is fairly far from the Fairmont so if you have a hard time with accessibility, please get dropped off and let the driver walk the 8-10 mins.
Washrooms are clean to hotel standards and expectations for Fairmont.
I’d visit i again based on the fact I paid $35/pp but at $69/pp I believe it is overpriced considering the cold sets to me were not good. In fact, I am not sure if I’d return because I didn’t enjoy any cold sandwich except my child’s carved turkey.
PS always remember to tip on regular price not groupon price! Service was Fairmont standards.
a lovely experience, better to go earlier in the high tea time than later. not so relaed when you go later. very impressed with service, nice attention to the table, we had three different menu options at one table and server was very careful to get the right option to the right people.
excellent food and service. Loved the view of the mountains and airplanes.
It's my go to place.. it does have a very relaxing ambiance, reasonal food cost & parking is free. This is where I often celebrate occasions whether with family or friends. Tonight there was a performer whose voice was cool and angelic making the dining experience much more enjoyable. Love it!
Overall good food. The first time I received my steak and mashed potatoes the potatoes were cold and steak was on the medium side of medium rare. I let the server know and she let the manager know. Both were very polite and professional and brought a new steak which was perfect medium rare. The food was tasty and music sung by a female musician was pleasant. I was surprised and appreciative when the manager did not charge me for the steak, which because they had replaced, I was not expecting. I would recommend eating here while at YVR or even if you want a finer dining restaurant in Richmond; they validate 3 hours of parking if you spend more than $30 (which is easy to do at the Fairmont).
Thanks to the staff and chef!
