Terrific evening on the Patio! Food was wonderful; Appetizers & Main delicious and perfectly done!
Impossibly bad. How do you serve waffles without syrup and “have to look downstairs for it” only to have 2 servings show up 20 minutes later? How do two cocktails take 30 minutes? How do you ruin eggs Benedict by drowning it in dill sauce? How do you serve a child’s portion of potatoes with brunch? How do you serve a plate of food without any fruit, veg or even garnish? Brutal.
We are seniors. Enjoy Early Dine. Music well-chosen but towards the end of the meal volume increased. Keep the music low.
Had a fantastic time on the patio. All 3 of us enjoyed appetizers and mojitos and ended up closing the restaurant down. I love this place
It was very pleasing to see how friendly the menu is for all allergies. I have a gluten
allergy, our server was really helpful, had great suggestion. I ordered the grilled chicken breasts, it was very tasty. We had a wonderful time, we will be coming back soon.
Went there for my husband's birthday with a group of friends. One of our best dinning experience, lovely atmosphere, very good service, friendly staff and delicious fresh food! We are definitely coming back!
I made a reservation only to find out when I got there the restaurant was not serving food. Although technically open, the brunch was over and they were not serving anymore. Had I known any of this about brunch etc I would not have booked. She was pleasant and explained but still this was just wrong. We were hungry and now had to go hunting for food. Disappointing experience.
We come here often because we like the location and love the outdoor patio!! I had the Chicken Pillard - chicken was good but the salad was soggy. My sister enjoyed her Ahi Tuna salad, and my cousin enjoyed her Cobb Salad. The service was sooooo disappointing!!! We waited forever just to get water after we sat down. Then our food took a long time to arrive. The waiter didn't refill our water and didn't even ask if our lunch was ok. We had to chase down a waiter to get dressing for my sister's salad - it was supposed to come with it - and ketchup for the kids' burgers. We then had to wait about 15 minutes just to get the waiter, so we could pay our bill! I don't know if it was the waiter's fault or if the restaurant is just understaffed.
Ambience on patio was wonderful
Although it was buffet style for the brunch hour, the overall service wasn't too bad. The pasta salad was too acidic and that one pesky fly made me hesitate to try anything laying out without covers. The omelette was delicious kudos to the chef. Great weather for outdoor seating.
We love the food and the people. We go there a lot as we live very close.
Not great value for the price. Food options are limited and nothing special. The omelette station was the only good think about he buffet.
The space also is not great for a buffet and the tables are spread ou making it awkward to get items.
The service was so bad that it was nonexistent. Could barely get a food or drink order in. Had to ask for cutlery and finally when desperate to leave we got up and stood at the front door for about ten minutes before we were able to beg someone to let us pay. When we got up to leave we had not even laid eyes on our server for over an hour. I’ve never worked harder to pay for anything in my life.
We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio during a weeknight. The vibe was relaxed and comfortable while still being upscale. The burger was delicious as were the yarrow chips. My Ceasar salad with a shrimp addition was plentiful and the number of shrimp was not skimpy. I would recommend Glow as a great restaurant for a night out.
So loud and we had to motion to get drinks, order and for our bill.
You need to update your menu. Hasn't changed much in years. Would recommend for ambiance
This is a beautifully designed restaurant with a lovely view of the central square at the Shops old Don Mills. You feel like you are on vacation when you eat here. For these reasons alone, it is well worth it to eat here.
The food is quite good. It’s tasty and satisfyingly.
There is one continuing difficulty and an increasing one.
The continuing difficulty is that the staff are slow and often make mistakes in taking your order, handling the dishes and bringing the right food. Everything works out in the end, but the client has to be attentive to what the server is doing to make sure everything turns out okay. The good thing is that some staff have been there for many years and they obviously love their work.
The increasing problem is that they have not refinished the furniture. There are holes and rips in the leather seat cushions—covering them with a cheap nylon fitted sheet is not the answer! Yet this was the solution for one cushion I noticed when leaving.
This is s wonderful restaurant as long a you treat the experience as a vacation and are forgiving of staff. However, they will soon start to lose clients if they don’t redo the cushions soon.
Will be going back
We ordered the brochetta and a chicken dish with salad
I asked for the dressing on the side. They put the dressing on the salad
the chicken was cold and dried out, tasteless as well
The brochetta was greasy and also tasteless
They make all the stuff before and shove it in the fridge
It was like eating a left over dinner
Don't go there, its a rip off. Not cheap
Food is very good and a nice selection. However, probably because it is a buffet, there were very few servers and it was hard to get their attention for more coffee or clearing the dirty dishes.
I usually have really good experiences here but this last time was disappointing. The service was SO very slow! I think management needs to revisit how they schedule staff (they seems to be very short staffed)
Rated yes with reservations. We had previously enjoyed this restaurant, however our last Friday visit was disappointing for our group. Service was very poor even though it was not that busy. Our server was also the bartender. She tried hard but was simply too busy at the bar, which is fine, but she shouldn't also be asked to serve a table. The wait for ordering was longer than what it should be and the wait for the bill even longer. Rigatoni & spicy sausage meal for one guest was disappointing, only 4 small pieces of sausage. Burgers were good though but at $21 a bit steep as there were only veg chips as the side. The braised brisket was not as tender as expected for braised meat. For what you get, the food is pricey.
Was a great place to have lunch with a couple of long-time friends. The menu had many options to suit the various personal preferences. The prices of the salads seem high given what you get (Cabrese salad consisted of about 8 under-ripened heirloom tomato slices, about the same number of bocconcini pieces and a pile of mixed greens in the middle at a cost of $17) The coffee was good and the mini indulgences are just what we wanted - a little something sweet to end the meal (although again at $3.50 each perhaps overpriced for the shot size portion that they are) It was wonderful the way our server allowed us to linger over our lunch, never rushing us at any point, and letting us get caught up.
Quality of the food seems to have been degraded from the last visit
Our server was excellent, though he was hit by too many new tables all at once to be the kind off exceptional possible when there adequate staffing.
The Cheese Board was a disappointment. The cheeses were excellent (tho grated parmesan is sloppy & out-of-place) & abundat but only 5 blackberries & 8 small blueberries? None of the promised preserves? 6 crackers? All considerabley less pricey components than the cheeses, yet so necessary to enjoyment. Very disappointing.
And the herbs in my friend's virgin mojito weren't muddled which meant it was little more than a tastelessly watered-down simple syrop. Also disappointing.
It’s a good place to go with Excellent food. We have been a few times and the service is good although this time the servers did seem a little stretched.
Service was dreadful, this time. Thtee of four meals weren't cooked properly. When they finally replaced my steak, they only brought the steak back, I had to ask for the rest of my meal. Service was painful. We were offered pepper and we never got pepper. We brought our own wine and had to ask 3 times for someone to come and open it - for both bottles. We had to get up and ask for the bill and it still took 20mins more. BRUTAL!!!!! I will not go back.
We had a lovely lunch on the outdoor patio. It really is a great location.
My salad was delicious and my drink really good, but I found the turkey burger to be quite bland and dry and the accompanying sweet potato fries mushy and added nothing to the meal.
Service-horrible. Had to keep getting someone to help us. Staff were more interested to stand around and talk to one another.
Buffet-Egg station Excellent as was the egg maker.
No one walked around to check if they were running low on items at the buffet. No fresh items added.
Dessert ie: Cake selection = blah- fruit and the apple crumble were excellent.
Better service definitely would have made the brunch better.
I have been here several times. The food has declined as well as the service. Our waitress was lovely but the hostess and servers seemed to lack training and professionalism. I do like the patio but unfortunately not enough to bring me back anytime soon. Considering quality of the dishes and price point there are better options in the same area.
Hi. I liked my eggs Benedict xvi other salmon very much, and our waiter substituted fruit for potatoes. I ordered a latte. I wouldn't oder one again. It was nice and hot but had a very weak coffee taste. I drank it, but should have said something at the time. I did mention that the latte was not good and our waiter said he hadn't tried it but there was a new expensive machine. Perhaps it just needed some resetting. I have been to Glow several times and the good is always very nice. I may not have ordered a latte before.
I had the plant based burger and my guest had the turkey burger. We both enjoyed our meals. The presentation of both meals were beautiful.
Took 15 mins for someone to come to the table, and the tuna tartar had a “not so fresh” aftertaste. However, they have a good wine selection and patio
Consistently great food. I loved the pizza special of the day. Great drinks and value.
we were there at 5pm so it was quite but food was great
The service ruined the night for us. Waited 20 minutes for water and to take wine order. Ordered the charcuterie board. Asked twice for bread to accompany it . Mains came soon after board arrived. Timing terrible. Scallops sent back uncooked and second time left on plate -‘server never enquires why. I asked to see the small dessert selection which is a fun part of your dining experience and it was never brought over.
Celebrated a family birthday with the early dine menu. Selection, quality and value were great. And the 1/2 price wine selection was a welcome addition. Service was outstanding. All made for a very Happy Birthday!
Food was mediocre at best with a price tag which was not mediocre by any means.
Very disappointed in this buffet. It was a premium day and there were still only about 8 dishes
