Service is usually better.

Nice and friendly, but:
Service was slow l
Didn’t get order right, asked to double up and they didn’t. Too late to change and left hungry.

Maybe just an off day or table. To be fair it did seem very busy

My friend and I both enjoyed our food...she ordered a salad and I had pasta; both were prepared really well & plated beautifully. I will try more of their appe menus next time. I will surely recommend it to my friends and family. Our servers were also attentive and helpful.

It was a terrible experience. I have been wanting to try this restaurant and finally decided to do it on my birthday. Went to the hostess and told her we have reservations at 7, we got seated around 7:10. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and the sauce must have been sitting out in their kitchen for a while cause it had a film on it when it was served to us. Our main dish was served 30 minutes after our appetizer came out. My husband ordered the Ahi Tuna Entreé but he was given the Ahi Tuna Appetizer. The Scallop & Tiger Prawn Tagliatelle was fine, nothing spectacular, or maybe because I finished all the Calamari while waiting for the main course that I already got full.

WE felt the menu for dinner was a bit limited. We were looking for a quiet place to catch up with friends that we haven't seen for a long time. It started as a perfect table but as other tables around started to fill up the room got really noisy - we had to shout across the table to make ourselves heard. It was a bit disappointing in spite of the fact that we asked for a quiet table.

Normally a great experience, but very disappointing this time. My burger was luke warm as were the fries, my friend's burger served with stuff she specifically said she was allergic to.
Not a good experience this time.

Our main server was not friendly or attentive. She did not make me feel welcome. She was rude. I have been to Glowbal on several occasions and previously had great experiences at this restaurant. This server has really left a bad taste in mouth so I may not return. Today, the seafood chowder was not as good as it was during my previous visits. It was bland and watered down.

This is a beautiful restaurant with an ambiance like no other. The food was very good, the staff was exceptionally friendly and kind. I think this is a great place for friends, business lunches or a romantic dinner.

Went for anniversary. Quiet Sunday night. Rather than ignore us, staff sat us by fire, provided us with unobtrusive but special attention and made our 32nd special as well. Could not have been better and the food was great, including the “Happy Anniversay” written on dessert. The generosity and service was stunning! Granted, it was not crowded and they had the time. But they gave that time as a gift to my wife and I!
We recommend.
Congrats and thanks Glowball

Overall, everything was amazing. This is my Mom's very favourite place for weekend brunch and we love that our server greeted our table with mini donuts and fresh smoothie shots.

For some reason the service abc food at Glowbal has gone down. This used to be one of our favourite restaurants. After asking to change seats as we were seated very close to the bar even after asking for a quiet area, our food took 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive and they served me a cold lamb shank! :(

Had dinner with girlfriends here. Our server, Devon, was attentive, funny, informative, and helpful. We never had to pour our own wine, our appetizers and meals were served in a timely manner, but not too soon. He really made the evening even more special because he was such a fun addition. The hostess was fun and casual as we were seated as well and came to check on us later too. Food was good. Cocktails were tasty. Their version of the Moscow Mule, The "Fish Shack" was the best cocktail I have had. Just a really good experience overall.

Very loud so if that is what you like please go there
Waiters don't hesitate to pad the bill by recommending the highest wine per glass
Food was moderately better than Denny's but I don't think I got a rib eye cut for the steak
All in all; average service, average food or less, loud atmosphere with a cost that would be better served in a higher end restaurant
Best suited for after work drink and appies.

Flies around us around the side salad with the lobster mac and cheese. Slow service. Charged $3 to split the soup. Not an enjoyable experience. We were forced to start lunch in the happy hour lounge in order to get drinks and poutine to start, and then we’re made to pay a separate bill before being seated at our table in the dining room for our mains. It made no sense to have to pay twice instead of carrying the tab. Really good ideas for lunch options, however all but one dish we ordered fell flat. The smoked sablefish chowder lacked noticeable sablefish. It could have been a cream of mushroom if I had my eyes closed. The lobster grilled cheese was also disappointing. Lobster pieces were small and scarce. The side salad had fruit flies fly from it. Scallops and prawn pasta was nice.

Overall an unusual two star experience from the Glowbal Group. Especially given I love Black and Blue and Coast.

That heated patio has no ambiance... it's like they've completely forgotten about this space. No music, just tables and the sounds of your own conversations and others. When we booked we were told it was "comfortable", I'd have to disagree. It's comfortable with a winter coat and a blanket...maybe. They seemed to be saving the closer/warmer tables for other groups... yet no one came. They sat several tables, including ours, closer to the drafty areas and uncomfortably close to eachother for no apparent reason. Our server was nice and the food was good but I would be hesitant to return to Glowbal.

Fiona was a fabulous server for New Years Eve. I look forward to going back. I was happy there were vegetarian options despite the seafood and meat heavy options. Potato gnocchi was amazing. The champagne was delicious.

The service was friendly but slow! By the time we finally got to order and then got our food we had been there for just over am hour. The staff was friendly but they seemed too busy (but shouldnt they be prepared to be busy?) They made a few mistakes with orders but the server was just so friendly it was hard to be upset. The food was great but again so slow to come. Do not go if you are on a time schedule. we were there for just over 2 hours (usually we're 1hr people)... we had 2 drinks, an appetizer and two sides and an entree.

Excellent ambiance, delicious food. The service was smooth and professional. Small delay in bringing our main course out, we were given squash soup sampler while we wait. Dessert sampler for the birthday person. Will be back!

On another occasion, went to the Eggs Benny Brunch - again, atmosphere was great and the food.

Had a break in an otherwise busy day - and ended up with a wonderful lunch. Service was exceptional and while that may have been because it wasn’t very busy - it just meant there was always someone checking in on us. My 12 year old had a great lunch from the kids menu and we also shared other items with some wonderful fresh doughnuts as well.

Some of the food we ordered were very tasty, though the spagetti and meatballs we ordered for a 6 yr old girl was extremely spicy. Especially for a child. The service was quite alow, we had to wait a lot even for drinks despite the fact that the place wasn't crowded.

This is my third visit to Glowbal and each time I leave a little disappointed. With the reputation and menu they have, my expectations are high enough to make me go back. However this restaurant seems confused between the menu they have and the overall atmosphere. I was so excited to try all the food but the service was confusing and lacked panache. Our mains arrived after we were only halfway through our starters. With no room on the table to move aside the starters we were left shuffling things around. When the mains should not have even been served to us at this time. Every interaction with staff, from the host to the waiter to the bus person was fumbling and awkward. The food was fair quality, but definitely not worth the overall cost of the bill and did not compensate for the fair to poor service.

I ordered two bottles of champagne and some oysters from the chief’s special a few days ago. The other restaurants that I visit always show the label of champagne to the customer and explain which oyster is which and where it came from. But this restaurant, they didn’t even show me a label of champagne, and the server didn’t explain about the oysters. He just put the dish very fast in front of us and left. I think those are not the manners that they should have.

As a Christmas tradition we go for brunch to Glowbal every year with our mothers and daughters as a group of 7 before the Nutcracker and usually enjoy it and have had good service in the past. This time the restaurant was slammed. We had a reservation, however, we were seated late and in a bird cage next to the front entrance hostess, one heat lamp didn't work, it was cold and there was a gas line for the fireplace sticking out of the ground which was in the way. We were moved upstairs but our server had a very large table who were all paying separate bills and totally monopolizing his time, he couldn't get to any of his other tables and the manager was serving tables as well to compensate. Staff were visibly overwhelmed, still friendly but very frazzled. We had to wait a long time, the coffee was cold, and by the time the condiments we requested from 3 separate people arrived, our food was cold and one plate was thus inedible. The poor experience and service was acknowledged by the manager, who was apologetic and he did comp the majority of our bill which was nice. It was disappointing that our special outing wasn't as enjoyable but we will try again next year since it was clear to us that there were extenuating circumstances in this case and we thought that in the end the staff and manager handled the situation in a friendly and professional way.
