Four of us dined at Glowbal on Friday night - 2 of us from the Seattle area & 2 from Manchester, England on a recommendation from our concierge. Happy to report that we had a great time! Food and wine were stellar- especially the oysters, truffle pasta & Brussels sprouts. And our server - from Bedfordshire, was fantastic. Would definitely make a return visit, and highly recommend it!

After being informed our reservation was cancelled due to a water pipe bursting, we made other arrangements but then were called and informed that everything was okay and our reservations could be met. Our other arrangements were cancelled and we proceeded to Glowbal. We were met at the door by Franklin and shown to our table upstairs. It was lovely - served a glass of champagne and the chef's amuse (which was delightful). We had a lovely dinner - our server was very accommodating although a little busy at times but all was good. We headed off to see Andrea Bocelli (incredible) then back to our car, parked in the Telus parking lot. We were not aware that the doors were LOCKED at 11:00 and were very happy to see one of the bartenders at Glowbal who directed us (after walking down the stairs and back up!) over to the Telus security - who we rang and she came right over and let us in to get our vehicle. Thanks to the bartender and to the gracious security lady at Telus. A great end to a wonderful evening. Thanks, Franklin - we will be back!!

We opted to sit inside because it was too loud( traffic noise) on the patio, which we mentioned to the hostess and we then were seated inside, directly where the opening is to the outside, which I found odd because we noted the reason to her for sitting inside, the traffic noise was very distracting from enjoying our meal.

I purchased the Sunday/Monday $98 dinner for 2 and made a reservation for my Boyfriends Birthday originally for 7pm.
I later called to inquire if we could change our reso earlier to 5:30pm, I specifically asked the host (person on the phone) to tell our server we were coming in for the dinner promo, and to acknowledge the Birthday so I did not have to at the table, neither of those requests were fulfilled.
The food quality, taste and quantity was outstanding, I was very impressed. The potatoes and veg on the main platter were cold.
I was not offered a copy of my receipt after the meal.
All hands were on deck when it came to clearing and setting our table, I did see a manager present.

Absolutely loved it. Steak was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was romantic - soft flickering firelight - gorgeous. Great guidance in the menu and wine list from Yumi, who looked after us really well.

A pleasant space with a short but very adequate menu. Good fresh produce and some outstanding BC wines. Not cheap but comparable with like restaurants in Vancouver.

We dined light - delicious fish and chips and a shrimp quinoa salad. Our server, Zach, was efficient and both enjoyable to meet and chat with. We also enjoyed the classy atmosphere & option of al fresco dining. Would love to return the next time we visit Vancouver.

Overall, a very good experience. Good food, lot's of it and good value. We had the 2 dinners for $98 Ribeye promotion. We were not asked how we wanted our steak done which surprised me. Also, the meal came with a glass of wine each and the main course came and we had not even been asked what colour wine we want and the wine had not come. We had to ask for the wine. Also, the dessert included cotton candy which I thought was kind of ridiculous. Those are all small niggling points however and overall I was very happy with the meal.

We have an reservation at 20.30 and arrived about 8 min before. We got our table and the waiter came with water after 5 min, and at that time we order a Martini to have drink while waiting for the Lobster Bisque we ordered at the same time we had the water. We wait 20 min before the drinks arrived and 1 min after we got the Bisque together with the ordered karaffel white wine. We did not have time to finish the drink before. And the Bisque was not very hot.
After finishing the Bisque we had ordered Lam with a karrafle red wine. After the Lam had arrived we must wait 5 min to have the wine.
I find it disappointing in spite of this was our last meal while visiting Canada and it was the most expensive.

The manager on the floor was very accommodating and hospitable. Since it was my boyfriend and I’s 9th anniversary, he served us with a Tiramisu cake and it was lovely! The main entreés as well were cooked to perfection! Our server was really sweet as well. It was a very pleasant experience for us who are first timers at Glowbal Restaurant. Thank you!

We dined here on a Sunday evening (sometimes not the best day for a fun experience), but the restaurant had a good amount of business and our experience was great. There were multiple areas for dining - courtyard, inside, hightop bar seating, upstairs, a more private small dining area. The noise level was just right to feel energetic but not be too loud to hear. Our server was very nice and the right amount of attentive. When we asked if we could just start with some drinks since we'd arrived early, they were very gracious about letting us take our time with the evening.

The food was served hot and had excellent flavor. Portions were generous. We started with the Brussel Sprout side as a appetizer, then my friend had the Papperdelle with short ribs which she said was great, and I had the boullibaise, which was excellent. The cocktail menu had a good selection, including a tasty Pick Me Up.

Overall, this was an enjoyable place with good atmosphere, service, and food. I'd recommend and I'd return.

We've dined at Glowbal 4-5 times and this was our least favorable experience when we went for dinner on Sunday 5/26. We took advantage of their Sunday Buy-up egift card special (3-course shared plates for $98) which was an incredible value - food was very good and in large portions.

Our issue on this visit was the service. Unfortunately we were seated in a section where the server was also in charge of a very large (~50) group in the private room behind us...and we were neglected all evening. Each course was brought out by bussers who set them down, but we received no explanation of the food/preparation whatsoever. The entree included whole snow crab legs and we had to ask for the picks to extract the meat, about 30 minutes later our server noticed the piled up shells on the sides of our plates and brought out a bowl for them...but we were already done with the course by that point. After clearing our dinner plates, we waited 20+ minutes before stopping one of the managers to check on dessert. He was very nice, and also comped us a glass of wine with dessert - we subsequently hailed him again to obtain our check and pay.

The whole service experience was also much more pronounced because the table behind us did the same dinner program and their server provided detailed explanations with each course and was very attentive throughout the meal - an experience much more like we'd come to expect from Glowbal in the past.

All in all, this is probably somewhat of an isolated case. I don't blame the individual server, in this case I think the failure was with the restaurant not identifying the need to balance load appropriately.

It’s a bit like a fancier cactus club. Bronze and black decor, it actually had a lot of potential to be nice ambience if not for the dance club music. We were gifted a “buy up” dinner for 2 which was a lovely thought. The dinner though was not good. Unknown varietal of house white wine, possibly a cheaper sauv blanc. Each dish was a shared plate, an “amuse Bouche” of wild muchroom soup purée was followed by Caesar, both were bland and the salad was pretty much all hearts and no leaves. This was followed by a steak, snow crab legs, on veggies, mashed potatoes, seafood gnocchi in cream sauce, and Brussels sprouts. The steak was really charred on the outside and rare in the middle, like it was seared at too high a heat and was not a solid cut of steak. The potatoes were quick box potatoes, the veggies were “ends” ( we found a bottom of half an asparagus, but neither of us remember eating a top). The sprouts were dry, salty, and burnt to a crisp. The gnocchi was probably the most edible but neither of us finished it. The snow crab was obviously previously frozen and was pre-boiled and reheated at time of serving - the shell was soft and difficult to open, and there was pretty much no meat inside. The dessert was I think supposed to be whimsical, it was essentially a pile of cotton candy and honeycomb toffee candy bars. And Panna Cotta in a plastic cup. (Panna cotta doesn’t come in cups if done right). the waitress was attentive enough, until we were done, then she was no where to be found. One of the hostesses kept hovering for some reason.

Overall, it’s a nice idea if you want a crab and steak dinner but you can spend the same amount of money to get fresh crab and steak elsewhere, without getting fed the scraps of vegetables and Candy bars ala George Constanza.

We are here on Vacation from Los Angeles and love this Restaurant. Every single person who served us had the best attitude and went to the ends to please! The food was excellent and our main Waiter Russel was fun, attentive and very informed as to what dishes were best. And it was a deal. We first sat by the Fireplaces which was a little to warm for the day and moved to the cozy corners.

If the boastful owner had not stopped by and ruined our dining experience by telling us how great he was it would have been much better. Stay away from the guests let your people do their jobs and try to be humble and show some appreciation. Won’t be back because there are so many other choices to choose from.

Very good food. Chose Sable fish as an entree...something I don’t cook at home. It was delicious.

The tuna crudo appy was so-so, nothing special. A couple of bits of tuna cut up and served with a lime mouse and a couple of beet crackers....not worth the price.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated as if we have been long time customers. All staff went out of their way to make our experience the best it could be. Our food was a feast for our eyes and palate.
