Great food and wonderful service
My seared Ahi Tuna came out cold - as if it had been prepared some time before and put on a plate. I requested more veggies instead of potatoes and there was a marginal amount of veggies - for a price of $34 plus tax. Our server was trying to be friendly, but it was fake and I guess he wasn’t happy with a 15% tip as he left as soon as he was done with settling up our bills - he never came back to say goodbye as we were leaving. Such a pity
Fantastic Brunch. Beautiful patio, great “build your own Caesar’s”! Very reasonable pricing for great food, drinks and service. $12 bennies crazy for the quality. We have been several times for dinner but this was the first time we have brunched at Glowbal and it was definitely up to standards. We will be back.
We arrive there at 9:30 pm it was not busy given that it was a nice Saturday summer evening. For a place not being busy, took them 15 minutes to get my first drink from the time it was ordered. I told the hostess that "looks like you forgot about my drink order". Second drink order took just as long. Wonder what will the service be like if the palce was actually very busy
Ordered Lobster paella, all I could taste was garlic, paella was mushy and no taste at all. The clams and mussels were all tiny and rice was not fully cooked.
I have eaten at Glowal before at their Yaletown location, they have changed their menu I feel their older menu had more variety with lot more tastier food. I will not be returning there for another meal. My wife ordered the lamb shank and according to her it was so not that good. Not good food experience given that it has a high quality name recognition.
Food was fantastic. Great date nite venue. Share the Paella.
Had a wonderful brunch! The bennies were amazing and I loved the mini donuts! Our waitress was very nice and very attentive!
We went for dinner prior to 8:00 performance at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Location is perfect -less than 10 minute walk to the theatre. Our server was aware we were going to an 8:00 performance & managed our meal time (6:00 reservation) beautifully.
The lamb shank I ordered was perfection - no fat/ an exceptional cut. My husband & daughter ordered the halibut and were equally pleased.
We ordered a side of the Brussel sprouts - a house specialty - plenty for the 3 of us to enjoy.
You are paying for a special occasion meal but the food and service are worth the price.
Our daughter mentioned to our lovely server near the end of our dining that we were celebrating 43 yr Anniversary & we were presented with a complimentary plate of deserts scribed with “Happy 43rd Anniversary” in chocolate & Champagne. The manager stopped by to wish us well. Truly a delightful dining experience. Thank you Glowbal.t
Overall pretty good experience. The hostess was not very friendly. Did not seat us for 15 minutes. Seated two other groups who arrived after us. Luckily another server came out and asked if we have been helped and he took us to a table right away.
Food was great and service provided by our server was the best.
Service and food were both to our expectations
I realized that the cook made salad just with his bare hands ( he did not wear disposable gloves), and meanwhile, he also touched his hair and nose while making salad.
We went to Glowbal with some apprehension because of some of the reviews. We had Devan as our server and he was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable without being over the top. Very genuine. The food was very good with excellent presentation. Make to leave room for dessert as it is worth it.
Delicious meal, pleasant ambiance and great service. :)
Service was atrocious. I felt like the server was purposely try to hide from us as he would appear every 30 to 45 minutes or so.
Food was ok
Nothing special, waitress was great and atmosphere was nice. The noise level was low which is great. I had the spaghetti and truffles with meatballs. That was really good but my partners meal had the cornish game hen, it was really uninspired and the side vegetables were very bland
Went for brunch. Food was pretty good but lacked seasoning and inspiration. Also, ordered a scrambled egg on the side and it was not cooked enough (wet and mushy). Smoothie and mini donuts were fun. Miss the yaletown location, smaller setting, and quality.
food was so bland. tuna salad was good and mash potato side is amazing but the skewers were plain and sauces didnt help. i would not recommend this place.
Delicious food, great service, friendly staff, very comfy chairs. Couldn’t ask for more.
Went here tonight with four other girlfriends for dinner. The smoked sablefish chowder was delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and had an intense smoky rich flavour. The crispy calamari lived up to its name and was well seasoned. However, the entrée was a disappointment. Not only were the vegetables undercooked, but the soba noodles that came with it were lacking flavour. The seasoning with the Soba noodles did not go well with the broth in the sablefish. The fish itself was a little bit overcooked. The mushrooms in the dish were excessively sour. However, the worst part was our waitress, Trina. She walled gy with other plates on her arm and asked if the food was good. I said it was "alright" and my friend said it was "not good." Her reply was "well it was good enough that it doesn't exist anymore." We sat there in shock wondering if she had truly just said that after we had waited for our meal. To be fair, I suppose the tone of her comment certainly matched her lack of a smile the entire night. When it came time to pass the dessert menus, they were thrown down and she walked away while we were speaking to her mid sentence. When we attempted to bring up our concerns to her, she denied having any sort of attitude.
I wouldn't hesitate to eat elsewhere next time. For example, the sablefish at miku is much more flavourful and I can assure you that the vegetables have always been fully cooked when i go.
The only reason why this review of two instead of one stars is because the assistant general manager came over and tried to smooth things over, a gesture that is always appreciated. He went above and beyond to try and fix something that was not his fault in the least. Five minutes with him was much more enjoyable than our entire meal with Trina.
The food was not great than before but the price has been increased. I had a good experience when I first visit. Therefore, I invited my friend from Japan but I was disappointed this time.
Our server was amazing. The manager introduced himself and check on us also which was a nice touch.
We were celebrating our anniversary and had a great experience. They happy hour selection was very good plus the dinner and dessert made for a great meal! The service was good but not exceptional.
We liked this restaurant however we ordered the Satay and it was terrible. Sorry but how someone can charge for that is not right. Was very disappointed. One the good side, the meal ( Halibut) was very delicious.
The food was wonderful, but the dessert was to die for! I really enjoyed the lemonade as well. It was quite unusual but very very good.
Food is always the best part of glowbal, as an avid customer of glowbal black and blue and coast, glowbal is by far the worst service wise, was there for happy hour at 5 o'clock and my server only came to the table once and the next time was at 555 for last call in happy hour not to mention I had to flag him down every time to order food or drinks, coast and black and blue are superior to glowbal
Consistly good. We shared the Calamari then had the Lobster Grilled Cheese and Prawn/Quinoa Salad. House white wine is very good and reasonably priced and our server, Christian, was very attentive. Great location, atmosphere and decor.
Our dinner experience at Glowbal fell far below our expectations based upon reviews posted on various sites.
I went for my anniversary and everything was just perfect since service and the food.
We needed a light pre dinner before attending the symphony. It’s near our venue & thought we will try this location. Our waiter Dylan was very attentive.
We came here for fathers day. It wasn't very busy as every available time on open table was available to reserve. We did look at the reviews and should have believed them.....but we had gift cards to the glowbal collection to use, so decided to give them a chance and try it out. We had about 5 or 6 restaurants to choose from and 2 were permanently closed. So we figured we should use them before they all close.
When we got there the hostess was not very welcoming and our table wasn't ready.
Our drinks took 35 mins to come.
The appetizer we ordered (chefs skewers) took a while and when they did come, we were missing a couple. Our waiter was very friendly and apologetic, and he did comp us for the skewers. They were tasty, but would have been better if they were fresh of the grill and hot....
When our mains came(brought by other servers) we were not asked if we wanted any fresh black pepper or parmesan. When we told our waiter, he was pretty annoyed at the staff . Can't blame the guy... he can't control the other staff members. So he apologized again. The halibut main was also very salty. The lamb shank was delicious and the seafood pasta was pretty bland. 1 out of the 2 meals were good.
After that, we were not too impressed and decided to skip ordering the dessert.
Would not come back or recommend to family or friends.
Ambiance, food and service were excellent. Left a note in my online reservation that it was our anniversary and that we had to leave by a specific time for the theater. They made a big deal about the anniversary, provided some very nice extras, and got us out in time. They advertise great deals for happy hour - but they are only available in the lounge and not for dinner. That was unexpected.
We had a wonderful experienced there. Hi The gentleman was wonderful. (I think is a Manager)He has been very helpful with great attitude and listening what customer needs.
It’s a “5 Stars customers service”, Great food and modern interior decoration.
We have a brunch there almost every Saturday.
I love the atmosphere and welcoming experience at Glowbal. The service is extremely attentive and efficient. Brunch on Saturday adds interest to their already fabulous menu by providing 2 features. I enjoyed scrumptious in-house made chicken and apple sausage, arugula salad with candied pecans and vodka infused watermelon and balsamic dressing and 2 sunny side up eggs. A tastey dish.
Not impressed with their knowledge of celiac disease (gluten allergy)- if you have celiac it wouldn’t be my first choice. We ordered the platter of kabobs and the waitress said she would put the tempura on the side as it and the meatball one were not gluten free. They delivered it with the tempura laying in a bunch of other skewers. When we told them they whisked it away and it was back 2 seconds later - yes they just took it off. They finally then redid it. Oh and my husband didn’t get his oysters until after his main course was delivered. At least they didn’t charge us for the oysters.
I was very surprised given the reputation and prices.
Excellent service and presentation of the food
Excellent service , good food and a great ambiance
Celebrated my close friend’s birthday! was a nice setting and we enjoyed the food a lot!
Great meal and fantastic service. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you again ,
A great way to reconnect with old friend over dinner.
Catching up with a friend over lunch at Glowbal was awesome. Our server was attentive and friendly. I found tremendous value in their lunch specials which is a great way to keep them competitive in the busy Vancouver lunch market. It was busy inside as the weather was not great but it made for a lively atmosphere. Great food, great experience.
