We had a fun time but our server was not on point. 3 of us are Event Managers for a wedding venue and the other 3 are Banquet Captains
We pride ourselves in great service. We felt our server did not care for our table as much as she could. We had to track her down to get the check. Food was good and so was the cocktail.

I like the overall restaurant, however it was slow as ever. Our waiter was good when he remembered that he had our table. The restaurant was not packed when we got there and he took forever to get our drink orders and then our food order. Then the food took more than 30 minutes to come out.

We made reservations for NYE and waited 10 mins past my time. Front desk was empty or the lady was just walking Around. Get seated - was told there was no ice and it would be awhile. He ordered Drinks an was brought small glasses of liquor (hot)and told this was the drink — INCORRECT! The bartender did not add the pink lemonade to the drink so we all had to order pink lemonades to pour the other glass into it. Steaks were served under cooked - had to send them back ——it really was a bad experience!

The food was great but the service was not. The hostess didn’t even acknowledge us when we walked up to the hostess stand. We stood there for about 5 min and then realized our party had already been seated. Then We waited for about 45 min to get our drink order. Also all of the meal did not come out together and some of the party had to wait longer for their meal.

The food and the beer were great! The attention from the staff was not. I could have drank a few more drinks but, the staff didn't seem to notice us very often and check back on us. I realize it was New Year's Eve but, the place wasn't overly busy to warrant the lack of attention.

New Year Eve date night. They had a special four course menu which included a glass of selected beer for each course. I do not usually like beer, so my hubby chose to try this special menu. While I ate my chicken Limone he ordered the proscutto wrapped chicken. Same sauce in my dish but his has mushrooms and proschutto. It was delicious. I tried each of his pairing and the one that came with the chicken was a dark selection. It was so good with the chicken and sauce. I did not believe my taste buds and could not believe beer can be paired to compliment a meal this way. The service was a bit rushed. The server was short and quick. Did not spend time to hear or listen to our questions, was in a hurry to get another table, etc...she was nice but need to stop and talk to the customers more. We sat near the kitchen so it was noisy. Try to stay clear of it. They also overcharged our meal, which I caught.

Continuously confirm for a group reservation. I booked more than a month in advance and reconfirmed twice in person and again on the phone. Only to be told when I arrived that I needed more guests in order to be seated. I found the manager on my own to be seated. All guests arrived at 7 as planned and the service was so bad management to over. It did turn out to be a great night. It was worth the trip from Houston

We always love dining at Granite City. Was noisier than usual because of holiday Christmas parties and everyone was singing and having a great time. So much fun! Shrimp tacos remain our favorite dish as we don't eat meat. Delicious!

Hostess seated us by the wait station, even though the place was less than half full. Was notified that they were out of a portion of my meal only when everyone else's was being delivered. Too many other restaurant choices in the area for this to be happening.

We went here for our office Xmas get together: it was AWFUL from the second we walked in the door to waiting an hour for a drink to them basically not serving us bc they wanted us to leave. Everyone was rude and unhelpful and pushy and slowwwww.. will not be back! Food was average at best, drinks were pretty good

The restaurant was too loud and our server couldn’t have been more inattentive. It took asking 2 times to get anything. Extra long wait for our food, overcharged on our bill and valet parking was a joke. We didn’t even stay for the birthday cake and coffee. So disappointing because they were not busy. Won’t be back!

I made this reservation for part of my boyfriends Christmas surprise. I took him to a Lions game Saturday the 16th. I booked it because he is a huge beer guy and they brew their own which I thought was cool. I read a lot of bad reviews and got nervous but honestly it was perfect start to finish. We had Tori as our waitress and she was wonderful! She made great suggestions and checked on us frequently. The beer was great and ugh the pork nachos were to die for!! We are from Pennsylvania so if we ever come back to Detroit, we will stop in again.

I’ve been to this location several times for lunch and for a couple other gatherings in the past. My co-workers and I decided to have our holiday party here. There was a bad snowstorm that day but we still decided to go through with the party. They way we were treated from the moment we walked in let us know that we were an inconvenience because, as the hostess told us, the other parties reserved for that night had cancelled for they had decided that s party was not worth the risk to their lives. After we were seated, it was over 20 minutes before the waitress came to our table. In fact one of the guest had to get up to complain before she came. This was unacceptable seeing that the restaurant was virtually empty. The wait for our food was long, and after we received our food, the waitress may have come to check on us once and did not come back after that. Meanwhile we went with beverage refills and the like. A member of our party had to again get up to find our waitress when we were ready for the bill, as still still had not returned.

This was such a disappointing experience.

We got our salads before we ever got our drinks. Our server never once came back and we really would have liked another drink, ketchup, extra limes.....

It took another 20 minutes to get the bill. What made it even worse is that the place was empty.

We will never eat at this location again.

Surprisingly the Thanksgiving prefix menu, served family style, was delicious. The service wasn’t the greatest though. The bartender both Wednesday and Thursday dinners couldn’t keep up, so drinks took 25 minutes. I requested a house wine and the server brought a twelve dollar glass instead of the seven dollar, just an example of poor service. Both nights food was great (since we were staying at the hotel and couldn’t get reservations else where).

We were planning to be in downtown Detroit on Thanksgiving and wanted to eat at a restaurant that was not serving a tradition turkey dinner. I called ahead and was told that they had a special holiday menu and their regular menu. I said “so we can order off of the regular menu” and was told “yes”. Surprise, we get there on Thanksgiving night and told that they only have their special holiday menu. And the receptionist seemed to not care at all that we were lied to. No apology. The restaurant was half empty, compared to every other packed restaurant downtown that day. I had never been to this restaurant before and, based on their attitude towards customers, will not go back.

Extremely humiliating!! I️ booked a larger party for this place days in advance. We live 20 minutes from the downtown area and wanted to take our out of town friends to a dinner and tour of Detroit. I️ actually called 6 hours before my reservation to ask if it was okay to add on 2 extra people. The person I️ spoke to said it would be no problem. I show up for my 7:45 reservation and checked in. The rest of my party started to show up within the next 15 minutes. I️ then notice 20 minutes have passed by as we have been patiently waiting for our table to get ready. I️ go up to the hostess to ask how much longer it would be, as my large party of 12 has now been waiting. The hostess acted like we were never checked in before and begins to check us in again. We then spoke to a manager after we have now been waiting for 40 minutes. The manager said if we waiting for 10 more she would not charge us for our first round of drinks and appetizers. Our group decided to stick around since we all agreed I️t would be hard to accommodate a large party anywhere else. The hostess then asks if we mind if our party was broken up! Mind you, we were trying to put together a nice dinner to show out of town guests a nice time downtown. We walked out after an hour of waiting for a reservation. Never again. This place should not have the option to book reservations if they do not know how to manage them at their restaurant. They even mentioned to us that even though they were booked up with reservations, they still were honoring walk ins. We ended up just going to 5 Guys for a quick burger since we were all so hungry at this point and running out of time with the rest of our nights plans. I️ am extremely embarrassed about how our night went thanks to this restaurant!! I️ have been to the one in Troy and have always had a great experience with reservations so I️ thought this would be the same. I️ was very wrong.

Our waitress was terrible, period. It took her forever to get our waters, our cocktails, our second cocktails and so on. She would have received a nice tip if she were more attentive, equally to her customers! Very thankful for the manager working that evening. He came over and asked us how we were doing and if we needed anything, as we did! Our waitress was CLEARLY to busy to be bothered with since she was more interested in pleasing the " famous " gentleman that were sitting behind us. After they left, and after the manager went to get our waters, and more drinks, she came over. I spoke up to her and said that her manager was taking care of us. She didn't need to fill our waters now or get our drinks. This was our first time at this restaurant with friends of ours. We enjoyed everything minus our young, inexperienced waitress. My suggestions ( as a former waitress and now a professional business woman of a major company) would be to give this waitress some lessons in etiquette. Thank you again to the manager that night. He did an exceptional job!

Took my wife here for a date. We had a reservation and were seated after a minor wait. Our waiter was very busy, but kept up with our refills. We had the Idaho Nacho for an appetizer, which came out after a slightly longer than reasonable wait, and it was "okay" -- not bad, but could have had a little more cheese spread around it. The main entrees came right on time: Meat Lover's Flatbread and Grilled Chicken & Asparagus Linguini. Both items were hot & tasty with a good blend of flavors. We left satisfied.

The host could have better attitude and more polite and answer phone when someone trying to place a carry put order. I tried to call in for hour straight nobody answer when I finally came in I notice host standing there and phone rang over and over and she never answered. So I ask do you take a try out order she said yes. I said I've been calling for hour she replied maybe we were seating someone ect so I said I just watched you not answer when several people was calling. Need better host service hands down.
