Delicious main course ruined by very slow service and a dessert delivered to our table with an insect crawling in the icing.
This is our second visit to Granite City, we totally love the maple bacon and tomato flatbread. Drinks were outstanding as well as our waitress Erica did a wonderful job very pleasant attentive and knowledgeable of menu options, we will most definitely visit again
We went for my friend’s birthday and had a great time! The atmosphere was great but the food was amazing! The ribeye was juicy and tender & the mahi tacos were a treat!
We had a reservation but still had to wait for a table. The reason for this wasn’t due to the fact that there wasn’t an empty table, it was due to not enough wait staff. There were a lot of empty tables. Our poor waitress had a lot of tables to serve. So she did as well as she could with as many tables that she had to serve. This was was my first visit to this restaurant and it wasn’t a good impression when a restaurant doesn’t have enough staff. Not the waitresses fault for the lack of service.
The service was slow, 5 out of 7 orders were wrong and the food was cold wen it finally made it to the table. The was the second business meal I have had at this location and I will not come back
I made my reservation through Open Table for 6:45 pm for a party of 4. Upon arriving we were sat immediately but were never asked if we had reservations. (Not a bad thing I guess but it left me wondering if they really even use the Open Table service). Our wait person came over shortly after we sat down and took our drink orders. My friends ordered soft drinks and I ordered a "flight" of their micro brewed beer. The soft drinks were delivered rather quickly but my beers did not arrive for almost 10 minutes. It went downhill from there. Our wait person had way too many tables assigned to her which was evident based on how long it took her to come back and get our orders. We went ahead and ordered our entrees along with some appetizers and soup since we didn't trust that she would be back anytime soon. About 15 minutes or so went by and I stopped her as she was flying past our table to inquire about the soup and appetizer orders. She informed me that she placed all of the order to come out at the same time because orders take so long to come out when you seperate them by appetizer and entree. Another server then brought out our food ( about 20 minutes later) and no soup! We asked him about it and he said he would check. Original server came by about 10 min later to ensure we got our food. We informed her the soup never came out and asked that she just remove them from the tab at that point. She took the soup off of the bill. My friends had coupons on their phones for joining the Granite City club (or whatever its caled). She could not get them to work so she just had the manager give us a discount for receiving bad service basically. I could tell that she genuinely cared and was disappointed that we didn't get our full order. I think this experience is on the management team and their lousy staffing and process. I have eaten here before and received better service but this left me with an underwhelming desire to come back to any of their locations in the future.
My waiter Christopher never inquired if we needed more drinks, water or was our food sufficent. My sister's boyfriend requested another beer that never arrived. I ordered a mimosas that had ice in it to mask that it ws a half glass. when I asked for another no ice I received half a glass, which I have never seen in my life when ordering a mimosas.
Great food , nice atmosphere. Service was fast. I would recommend to everyone.
I made reservations for 2:30 after the March For Our Lives event. We're arrived much earlier and were shown to a table immediately. Thank you.
Not a good experience for us. Twenty minutes for drinks and three tries to get the soup hot. The service was average. All in all not a good dining experience. Will not go back!
Not happy that it took my whole lunch hour for my food to come out and then I had to take my food to go.
Stopped in for appetizers, salads, and drinks at 1pm. Place was pretty empty and quiet. We sat in a booth/tall table combo in the bar area. The table was clean but that cracks of the booth and wall were disgusting. Full of crumbs, straw wrappers, and very greasy. Server was slower than slow. We were her second table and she spent most of her time hanging in the window of the kitchen and with the bartender. The night before a group of us went down from our hotel room for wine and salads and I ordered the SAME salad both times and each time were different. Portions different, dressing different, and items on the salad different! No consistency with drinks either. Kind of disappointing.
Was there March 17th. I am 56 years old this was the worst meal and service I have had in my life!
We had a great dinner. We walked in and were seated promptly and our waitress was fantastic!
Exceptional... and Nigel and Artese are Excellent Chefs! They came and talked to us and were very personable.
Poor service, it took almost 20 minutes between drink orders for delivery. Gluten free artisan crust was under cooked greatly; this was after waiting for an hour for our food to be delivered. It was beyond bland on top of that. The brisket special was extremely bland as well. Creme brulee was lackluster in size. All around disappointing experience and we will not be returning.
Had a reservation. Arrived early and patiently waited. There were tonnes of people waiting as well, not sure who did and didn’t have reservations. We waited for another 30 mins while parties of 10-25 were let it. We eventually just left and ate somewhere else. Not a great first impression 😫

The Host was not friendly she had an attitude she never came back with the booster seat after me asking for one 4 times! The waiter was very forgetful and all over the place couldn’t get the bill right kept forgetting the condiments. Then for the parking the need to be more specific on where to park when your visiting Granite city because I parked on the wrong garage and they gave a validation that they knew weren’t going to work for me because I was in the wrong garage stupidity at its best. I would never visit this restaurant very again they need to improve in a lot of ways. I recommend that you do not visit the downtown location.
The food was ok was surprised at the entree choices. Disappointed at the desserts choices (fruits and some dried up danish rolls )
Our waitress was wonderful from beginning to end . Second time attending the brunch, did not enjoy it as much as first time.

Nice atmosphere, great food, decent prices and excellent service. I was definitely pleased with my decision to try Granite City.
The wait staff too forever to get our appetizers, drinks, and food. There were two people in our party that did not get their food until everyone else had been served and finished for about 15 minutes. I will not go back.
Food was good. Have eaten at Granite for small and large gathering multiple times. This was a birthday celebration for 14 people and staff was very attentive. Have been seated in same area near kitchen in the past for large parties and it is very noisy, staff broke dishes or dropped food at least three times. Noise level in other sections of the restaurant is better for smaller groups.
We were a party of four out for dinner. Two of us had the same beer and felt sick that night and most of next day. After calling restaurant they pretty much blew it off and didn't care.
It's either the beer or what we think happened - someone spiked our drinks, which they need to look into!! Both felt extremely tired and dizzy.
Some friends and I came here for my birthday and the service was terrible, it seemed like they were short staffed as drinks and food took too long And when we asked the waitress to split our bills she just split it 5 ways not according to our order!

Enjoyed the Mahi Tacos. It was a health option since the fish was blackened (not fried). Appreciated the slotted stand they are served on so they don't fall apart before you eat them!
It took longer than 45 minutes to get our food, server barely stopped by our table to refill drink cups and didn't offer us opportunity to purchase appetizers or give us status of food since it was taking a while.
Extremely slow service the last two times we’ve dined there. Waitstaff is courteous, but it took over 30 minutes to deliver drinks and over an hour for the entree today. The restaurant needs to hire more staff. We won’t be visiting again anytime soon.
My daughter 18th birthday was a disaster our reservations was cancelled due to heavy traffic auto show was going on, 2nd we waited almost 2 hrs for our food and when it came our food was cold the manager was rude she never came back to our table after we complain I would never come back again
I thought the ambiance and the customer service was SUPERB!!! I didn’t care for the food this time. I had a 1 p.m. reservation and the brunch buffet was over at 2. The food wasn’t as fresh or as hot as I would’ve liked and for that I’ll just order off the regular menu next time.
I want to express first the server was a great professional and helped the group as much as she could. Furthermore, I reserved a table for 12 (only 8 arrived) at 930pm. We did great our table on time. However, when we ordered our food, it wasn’t received until an hour after it was ordered. Also, one of our guests arrived late and submitted his food order late and received it first without our food. It was quite unsatisfactory when it came to the service from a food stand point. Our dinner was fully compensated, however we were disapproved entirely.
It took an hour 1/2 to get our food and the hostess was really rude. She didn’t show us to our table, she just pointed to the table and told us to seat there.
Food has consistently been very good however service/delivery of food is slow. Plan on 1 1/2 hours for lunch. Food was delivered, our server never checked with us regarding food or to refill beverages. That part is very disappointing.
We were In Detroit fr tue auto show and had a 7 o’clock reservation
Tue food was awesome and prepared perfectly. Our server Kevin was exceptional with timing and his knowledge of the craft beer selection. When we are in DetroIt the next time we will absolutely don’t be at Granite city... easy to access, great a food and service! AA plus!!
The Waitress forgot to put in one of our orders. He did not receive his food until we were ready to leave. The lunch was comped (which is good!) The Waitress never refilled drinks. I used OpenTable to set up a reservation, which was in their system when we got there to the restaurant, but it still took 10 minutes to "set up the table". Why did I bother to set up a reservation?
The food is great at Granite City but the service so just really really slow. It's not just the food but everything in general was slow.
All of us enjoyed our entrees,; the meat loaf was terrific. Very good service also!
