Granite City was a wonderful dining experience. The wait staff was great and took great care of us. We will be back as always.
I was greeted and seated in a reasonable amount of time. Our server Kendra was very attentive. The food was presented hot and timely. It had been a while since I’d been in, definitely will be returning soon though!
The food left much to be desired. Much of it was luke warm. It seemed like there was a major lack of employees. Our server did the best she could but our dinner for 4 people took 1 hour 45 minutes.
Luke warm dry food even after sending food back to be remade. No interaction from service or management to appropriately correct food quality issue.
Brunch at Granite City is exactly how you think brunch should be. Mimosas or a Bloody Mary, and you grab your food from an enormous buffet. The food was fantastic, much better than getting "brunch" at a coney island or similar type of place. Me and my wife both enjoyed this as a brunch date together, and look forward to doing it again soon!
Everything was perfect chicken Tuscano came out a little bland definitely will come back in the future
Food was cold once we finally received after waiting a very long time. Service was not the best. Probably will not return
The beer was really good! I had the BBQ pizza and that was good. Someone else had the chicken strip meal and was not good at all. Chewy and tasteless. Service was very slow.
The sheet pan nachos are absolutely terrible. Service was outstanding though
If you are concerned about social distancing, this place is NOT for you. The host will cram everybody into one area, booth after booth with a mere 4 inches between your back and somebody else's back. We asked our waiter if we could move and we did...immediately the host tried sitting three other parties at our abandoned booth, and they requested a move as well. For now, we are avoiding Granite City until Covid is better under control. Given that employees must wear masks (and correctly wear them) its surprising the desire to pack us in like sardines when the restaurant is barely one-quarter full.
There was one waiter for pretty much the entire restaurant while we were there. The waiter was amazing and deserves a huge bonus for staying and serving us and the others on new years eve so late. I hope he gets a bonus.
The food was hit or miss. We can tell kitchen was understaffed too.
Service was horrible received water and food and never seen a waitress again for at least 30 mins. I asked for drinks she never came back I’m just overall unsatisfied
Food was over cooked, and cold. Waiter had a hard time remembering anything we asked for. Wont be returning for a long time
Everything was great. Service was excellent, our steaks were the best we’ve had in some time. A great choice for New Years Eve.
New Years Eve dinner special was excellent. Service was excellent in spite of short staffing. Staff appeared to work together to serve customers.
Kevin was a phenomenal server, very attentive and has a great personality. We enjoyed our experience solely because of him. We ordered several appetizers for the table which were all fine but when our entrees came, they were bland, soggy and overall inedible. Probably would not return for the food.
The food was excellent except for the fries which were crinkled cut and dry like an orelda frozen bag. This place used to have amazing signature shoestring fries.
Service was fine, food quality was poor.
Service could have been better. We were a table of three and the waiter acted as if he was so busy that he felt the need to rush us out. The tortilla soup was as thick as a stew and the alfredo tasted as if it came from a jar.
Refills weren't offered until we asked and our appetizer sat in the window with-in viewing range.
Also, the professionalism of our waiters backwards hat and overwhelming cologne made for a wonderful dinner.
We had an excellent meal, and had a good time. Our waiter was spread pretty thin, and had too many tables to wait on. I wanted to get another beer, and my meal was done before I could even order it. He tried his best to keep up, and I am not complaining, and we understand that it is hard to hire more help. He did the best he could under the circumstances.
Got together for Christmas lunch with friend. Server was great and food was too
The food quality/taste and service was excellent. However, the "Chicken Pot Pie" is labeled as an entree but it is small (appetizer) sized; it is a bowl of chicken vegetable soup with a crust baked over the top with very little chicken in it...the chicken that was in it was thin strands instead of chunks. It did taste very good.
The service was very slow, waiter was very disengage and when asked about drinks a food he did not show interest at all.
Asked for Mahi Tacos, one of them did not even had Mahi on it, I did not complain to no make it wrost for the rest of the party whom were also not happy.
Not coming back
Business Xmas dinner
Food was great, and the service was great. Website needs to be updated because it (website) indicates that masks are required unless the patron is seated at their table but this was not the case. Even some servers were maskless. .
Server kept forgetting items. Never brought coffee as requested, or condiments.
Granite City has a lot of variety on their menu so everyone should be able to find something that they like. The food is normally quite good.
I love the bar area/high tops. That’s the best environment in my opinion. The food is excellent and service is always 1st class.
I really enjoyed visiting GC! Our waitress, Tamika, was extremely helpful and pleasant. The food was great. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and garlic mashed potatoes. Both came out hot and were very flavorful. My friend order the Buffalo chicken Mac & cheese, which she also said was good. For drinks, I had the spiked cider, not sure of the name and did not see it on the menu but it was recommended from the waitress. My friend requested a lemon drop which she also said was good although she said she would have liked more sugar on the rim. Overall, great experience and I will definitely be returning!
We all found the place to be loud, lots of families and children on a Friday night at 7 PM and very bright! Finally at the end of our meal we asked if the lights could be dimmed
Our server Kendra was wonderful! My husband's soup was cold when it came out but was corrected. Green beans needed to be cooked more but this is a problem at most restaurants.
Happy hour offers great appetizer and drink options! The mahi tacos were delicious!
Top sirloin was delicious
We had a real nice dining experience. We will definitely go back.
Our sever was very attentive to our table and very courteous. He provided water several times and brought out the food in a timely manner. He also brought out boxes that he insulated for the leftovers. Good ambience at the restaurant. We didn’t feel rushed.
Service was terrible and we had two servers by the bar. Never came to check on us or ask how food was
Until we were done eating and asked if wanted more drinks and the location was not busy will never go back
The food was great, especially the fish and chips Friday deal! Our server was friendly and helpful. We only waited a few minutes for our table.
We have waited so long for drink. My husband coffee was cold. They bring bread was in dirty plate they changed and bring back new one but no butter with that.
Regular dining and brunch is good but was very disappointed in the Thanksgiving dinner. There was a different kids age of 7yrs for pricing verses the regular menu of age 12. My 2 girls didn't eat much or like much at all so it was a waste of money. Only thing cooked good was the turkey and it could've used a little more flavor.
We went for Thanksgiving. Everything was fine. They had a table for us even though we arrived quite early. They replenished our dishes in a timely matter. We plan on going back to this Granite city since they closed the one in Ohio that was by us. We love the Sunday Brunch and are planning to go there next Sunday. It is worth the hour and fifteen minute drive.
