Gyu-Kaku - Broadway - Vancouver
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
Our server was really awesome and attentive. He changed our grill plate a few times which we really appreciated. However, there was a 2 hr dining limit, so when the time limit was approaching and they wanted to kick us out, that’s when it got really annoying. It was not like we were done dining and were just sitting there chatting. We still had food we needed to grill and half a pitcher of beer left. Overall, it would have been a great experience except it wasn’t because the server kept pestering us at the end because of the time limit and we were forced to wolf down our food.
I love Gyu Kaku!! I've been coming here for any big work celebrations, birthdays , datenights and recently the new tradition of going for Christmas. Highly reccommend!
Tasted amazing, service was great, and was a fun way to spend our lunch.
We love this restaurant, enjoyed a lot every time we were there. We just know that they discontinue the "intestine", hope it will be back shortly.
My fave late-night restaurant! Quality meats and great service. Awesome value too!
Good value and good food.
Friendly efficient service and good value for several diners.
Great food, fair prices and the restaurant was clean with a nice aesthetic overall. Grilling my own food is fun.
Was a bit disappointed by the service here at Broadway compared to the Nelson St location. The first server we had rushed us to order and then forgot the promo code I gave her. The manager applied the discount at the end though so it was alright.
Service wasn’t great nor awful.
Food wasn’t great nor awful.
Neither expensive nor a bargain.
Very mediocre experience.
Food always arrive super fast, service is always on top. Waiter will come by a few times to pick up used plates and ask if everything is alright. It is best to make reservations as they are busy all the time.
Food was great and service was excellent. It was fun to cook at the table. We had a group of 7 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the dinner.
Service is on point as always.
Food was lacking, but probably because we came in towards the end of the night
as always, the food and service are great.
just one criticism, the outside common area of the restaurant is filthy and hasn't been cleaned in years. it needs a good thorough power washing, for the whole building including the stairs and parking lot area!
all the business tenants in this building need to get the landlord to start cleaning.
it's the first impression by customers and right now, very unappealing.
Super good . Service was great. Food was all really good ! Thanks !!
I love Gyu kaku! This is our third time dining at the Broadway location. They are always accommodating to my two young kids, the Monday happy hour is such a great deal and service is always super nice and attentive. I can’t wait to plan our next outing there!
Amazing deal with 20% off! So much food. So delicious.
Servers were super nice and food was delicious! The restaurant was pretty busy...we were there for late night happy hour...but our server was still attentive. The food came out fairly quickly from the time we ordered. The marinade on the meats were delicious! The sukiyaki bimbimbap was yummy. Will definitely come back again.
Still popular several years after opening! Reservations well in advance recommended.
We've been to the restaurant located downtown, find that this is a better location, the seating arrangement is better as they have booths for small group of people.
Food and service excellent.....table ready within 10 minutes. We were finished eating and were thinking about dessert when the fire alarm went off and sprinklers turned off all the barbecues! Staff was good -quick to get everyone out, we offered to pay since we were finished and they basically said to" forget it- no one pays tonight" Hope everything is okay there. (We didn't see any flames) This was our second time here - a fun experience until the alarm went off!
This spot is definitely a go to for me. This location specifically! Food's always amazing and the vibe is ideal when you want to have an enjoyable meal
Great food and service as usual. The only downside is that I came to dine around 2pm, and they told me they were already out of toro beef.
Great food and services but washroom needed lots more attention
Love Gyukaku, its food & people, especially this location!
When I arrive they said they do not have my reservation, I have to show my reservation number and they find out they gave the table away to other party.
The waitress and manager were very helpful during our lunch
Spicy pork was very dry. Taste awful.
Basil chicken .. every time I grill it sticks. Every single time. I really don't know what's the trick ?
Avocado chicken salad. Where is the avocado...????
Spinach and broccoli are too salty
Broadway location I have tried few times .. always disappointed. Still prefer the Nelson vancouver location .
they provide a kids friendly environment for people that have noisy kids. the servers provided very good services and they know what they are doing. will definitely recommend this bbq place to all my friends.
always consistently good
Great food , great service and reasonable price. Reservation may need it if you have a big group or you can book with open table.
It was a very good experience. The food was amazing and the price was well worth it. And the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will surely come back again.
Tasty food and good environment. Lunch, happy hour even dinner are all good choice.
Gyu-Kaku is great for friend and family gatherings, and special occasions like birthdays - especially if you have a smaller group. The staff are amazing; food is staggered well so the table doesn't get too crowded with too many dishes. It does get loud, but nothing unmanageable. Great for when you want some meat with healthy options on the side.
So nice place to eat out but it was a little bit hot in the restaurant
Good value with the preselections. Fun and social. Sauces were very tasty. Service was to the point and as you are the chef, cooking is not their resposibility so rate your own stars.
My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary. We had a 5:00 reservation and waited for almost 10-15 minutes for a table to be ready. We had edamame, meat dishes like BBQ pork, garlic mushrooms and asparagus. Food was exquisite and at a good price. We liked the idea of cooking our food at the table. Would definitely go here again!
Gyu kaku’s food was fantastic and delicious. The service here was really fast and friendly. I really recommend this place for who are into great beef and pork.
I like this place and it's one of my favorite restaurant to dine out. It's great because it's not expensive, the food was good and to BBQ whether with friends or family is always fun.
Came here for a birthday dinner with my family and we all had a lot of fun. We’d been to the location in Richmond before but wanted to try something new and it was worth the drive out to Broadway. The service was great - the server was very helpful and even let us know of all the suggested cooking times for the meats we ordered. Since we went during Monday (all day happy hour) the prices were reasonable, and even though we got a combo that was meant for 2 + a sukiyaki bowl, we were all very full after, considering we all have big appetites! The vibes are good because everyone is just there to have a good time and enjoy a nice meal. It’s also possible to find free parking in the residential area (after 6pm it’s unlimited).
