Love Gyukaku, its food & people, especially this location!
When I arrive they said they do not have my reservation, I have to show my reservation number and they find out they gave the table away to other party.
The waitress and manager were very helpful during our lunch
Spicy pork was very dry. Taste awful.
Basil chicken .. every time I grill it sticks. Every single time. I really don't know what's the trick ?
Avocado chicken salad. Where is the avocado...????
Spinach and broccoli are too salty
Broadway location I have tried few times .. always disappointed. Still prefer the Nelson vancouver location .
they provide a kids friendly environment for people that have noisy kids. the servers provided very good services and they know what they are doing. will definitely recommend this bbq place to all my friends.
always consistently good
Great food , great service and reasonable price. Reservation may need it if you have a big group or you can book with open table.
It was a very good experience. The food was amazing and the price was well worth it. And the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will surely come back again.
Tasty food and good environment. Lunch, happy hour even dinner are all good choice.
Gyu-Kaku is great for friend and family gatherings, and special occasions like birthdays - especially if you have a smaller group. The staff are amazing; food is staggered well so the table doesn't get too crowded with too many dishes. It does get loud, but nothing unmanageable. Great for when you want some meat with healthy options on the side.
So nice place to eat out but it was a little bit hot in the restaurant
Good value with the preselections. Fun and social. Sauces were very tasty. Service was to the point and as you are the chef, cooking is not their resposibility so rate your own stars.
My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary. We had a 5:00 reservation and waited for almost 10-15 minutes for a table to be ready. We had edamame, meat dishes like BBQ pork, garlic mushrooms and asparagus. Food was exquisite and at a good price. We liked the idea of cooking our food at the table. Would definitely go here again!
Gyu kaku’s food was fantastic and delicious. The service here was really fast and friendly. I really recommend this place for who are into great beef and pork.
I like this place and it's one of my favorite restaurant to dine out. It's great because it's not expensive, the food was good and to BBQ whether with friends or family is always fun.
Came here for a birthday dinner with my family and we all had a lot of fun. We’d been to the location in Richmond before but wanted to try something new and it was worth the drive out to Broadway. The service was great - the server was very helpful and even let us know of all the suggested cooking times for the meats we ordered. Since we went during Monday (all day happy hour) the prices were reasonable, and even though we got a combo that was meant for 2 + a sukiyaki bowl, we were all very full after, considering we all have big appetites! The vibes are good because everyone is just there to have a good time and enjoy a nice meal. It’s also possible to find free parking in the residential area (after 6pm it’s unlimited).
Service was good but the meat quality is not as good as first tried couple years for that price. I would not recommend to meat lovers for sure
Our waitress, Rachel was outstanding. She went above and beyond. By far the best service I received at Gyu-Kaku.
Excellent! Food is delicious! annd came out quick! Our server was amazing!
The food was delicious ! I go here for my birthdays and last time with my friend . The food was amazing and there was so much variety, come for happy hour if you want a cheaper price because it is a little more on the expensive side. The only down side was that it was a little hard to get a hold of the service and our waitress was a little unwelcoming but everything else was great and I will be back again for sure.
this is my go to place for bbq, i live in surrey now but will still go out of my way to come here. service is always on point and they didnt rush us even though our party stayed well past closing time. cant recommend this place enough
This is the second time I've been to Gyu-Kaku, both times at the Broadway location. One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Made a reservation online, and were seated immediately. Our server was amazing as he genuinely cared about our experience (ie gave us recommendations on how to cook our meat, extremely attentive at refilling our water). His attitude was so positive, caring, and he made this experience unforgettable. Redeemed offers from their Gyu-Kaku app and it was an extremely efficient process with him. The meat in the combo we ordered was well marinated, and the sauces were also delicious! The ambiance is probably louder than a normal restaurant, but it is louder in a more positive way, which adds to the experience. Will definitely be back for the top-notch food/service very soon.
It was my first time dining in a restaurant where you cooked your own food, What an experience it was. The food there is top quality and the value for money is quiet good. My 3 companions and I got the cheaper 4 person food deal and we were stuffed after dinner, we hardly had space for the smores. Great food and lovely staff, a must if you are ever in Vancouver.
Fun way to eat food, great service and good value for your dining dollars.
Our server was very nice and friendly! Service was great and food tasted good too. Only small complaint was we had gotten the half-size gyu-kaku salad and it seemed a little too small. I usually order the full-size but the half-size seemed to be smaller than half. Other than that, it was a good dining experience
Gyu Kaku is a usual favourite for my wife and I. The value is great for the combos for 2 (enough for 3-4 people if you add a few extra servings of meat) and even better on Monday. Highly recommend anything heavily marinated - super tender!
it was good i love the sauces and the meat was just good i would love to go again
Awesome!! Great for families kids dates what have you
Reserved table through open table with a special request for my sisters birthday but they did not follow through. Has to asked the waiter about the request in front of the birthday girl. Waiter dont know anything about opentable.
I like the frequent changing of the grill so that we get clean grill to bbq another batch of meat avoiding burnt meat residual on the grill. Taste of the marinated meat was delicious. The waitress was attentative often coming around to check out on us to see if we need any help such as regulating the bbq stove, refilling our tea, explaining how long we should grill the meat. We ordered three lunch specials and one set, the meat was served in the right pace so that not all the meats were put on table all at once, crowding the table. The waitress did a good job in letting us know that the food for the Sakura set would be served later on. We were satisfied with the pricing of the lunch specials and Sakura set and found that they are of good value. two-hour maximum window for this visit is reasonable; we had enough time to grill and enjoy our food. Happy Hour was served even on weekends. The first time I was here was on a Saturday weekend. The food was plenty for two people. So, this is the 2nd time, we can
share the Sakura set together and add some lunch specials. The ambiance was good, not very busy and we could sit comfortably in a booth for six people. There was no rushing of food ordering. We could take our time to decide on what to order. We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant and was said sent out by a warm farewell too. I definitely would recommend this restaurant and this location to my friends. The service was exceptional and there were a variety of meat to choose from. Also, smokeless BBQ was one of our requirements to dine in this restaurant.
Generally good, good food and environment, however Some bowls are a little bit dirty, most of time, no staff response, they look like so busy, you have to wait for a long time to order.
Everything was pretty good except the waitress seems to be very pushy about the 2 hour sitting time. Other than that, still a very good restaurant~
Nice clean neat bbq with a good quality of meat. Cooking your own meat is fun.
always a good experience
Enjoyed a Father’s Day dinner here featuring their Garlic Power Surf and Turf with Sapporo Beer. I got lots of meat and beer. What more could a dad ask for?
I've used this place for my son's b day dinner before and they served the free ice cream before. This time they didn't give anything or mentioned nothing even if I made a note when I reserved the seats. A little disappointed.
This is quickly becoming one of my favourites spots in Vancouver. I love the food, the atmosphere, and have I mentioned the food? You get a LOT for what you pay for. 4 of us got the 2 person special and with only a couple more extras we were all full to bursting. Love the options and the meat is always tender and delicious.
The server seemed fairly new, but did his best to accommodate us and our requests.
Very tasty food, good ambience and service but a bit on the expensive side
