Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh, high-quality meats!

As we do get very busy during peak hours and we do require reservations for maximum 2 hours dining time only. We are sorry for the inconveniences and we thank you for your cooperation.
For all reservations we do hold a 15 minute grace period for the reserved table, if the party is late after the 15min, the reservation will be cancelled.
Again, we thank you for booking your reservation with Gyu-Kaku and we look forward in seeing you soon!
Fun and good variety for everyone!
Went for my birthday and everything was amazing! We ordered one of the larger dinners for groups and they spaced out the food nicely so that the table wasn’t overflowing with food and we had time to eat everything.
Great restaurant chain I enjoy attending about once a month. Consistent experience every time in top notch food quality and more than adequate in all other respects.
La comida muy rica, un lugar silencioso y especial. El servicio muy bueno, se nota que es un lugar de una gran tradición cultural
Excellent restaurant. Food was amazing, service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great Japanese BBQ. It gets busy so make sure you book
Awesome food and service!
Set BBQ meals a real value with more than enough for 2 to enjoy. Five of us had 2 set meals plus entree and we needed doggy bags. Great service. Yum!
Food was delicious and super quick.
Service was great
Perfect Christmas eve dinner! Very satisfied with the food and service, will come back again!
Went for our 4th year anniversary and it was amazing. The food is incredible and the mixed drinks are amazing, all sake based but all great.
Good food good service
Service and food was phenomenal!!! We will Deffanitly be back and refer friends
Great BBQ. Service was good even though the restaurant was extremely busy. I loved the concept of the restaurant overall. I would return.
Food was good as it usually is. Table service superb, Hostess needs work
Everything was great, value was good and the servers were super friendly. However, our bbq top this time didn't work particularly well. It would be nice to do some annual maintenance on them to make sure that they're all working fine.
It's fantastic! Love the vibe, great atmosphere! The service was wonderful as well. Happy Hour menu for the win
Everything was amAzing.
It was an amazing time ad always!! Great food, great price
We had the meat lover combo between a couple of us business folks. It’s a good solid place for bbq’ing your own meats. The sauces and marinades are amazing. Looking forward to more fantastic meals.
We went with a large group for my daughter's 18th birthday. The service and food were amazing as always!!! We will be back again and again!!
Love it! Best place in town!
Just great, and being Japanese, I’m picky about Japanese restaurants.
Ricky, our server, was amazing too. Will definitely be back!
Super Happy Hour menu is real value for your money. Staff are really friendly and while it’s hard to find a seat, online reservation makes it a breeze. I’ve been to Richmond and Vancouver locations. Vancouver is quite smokey than Richmond. Not a deal-breaker though. Just an observation.
The food was great as usual. The only critique I would give is the waitress brought our mushrooms and zucchini at the end of the meal. Highly recommend the kurrage chicken and the fried Bacon.
Great food. Perfect dining for a weekday lunch. Service was friendly and location was ideal.
My wife and I have been there since 2014 and we’re always recommending it for friends.
Excellent experience! The set menu is great for first timers. Now we know what our preferences are and can focus on those next time! Travelled from Chilliwack for dinner before an event. Make sure you give yourself the full 2 hours to eat
Meat was good, service was attentive and prompt. Only problem was the smell of weed that came in through the open door while we were waiting for our table. We were starting to feel sick and appetite reducing by the time we were shown our table. Close the front door, please.
Hi there, We didn't get great dinner on last Friday. Sadly worst service ever we had one. We have often to have dinner with our kids. Most important is taking the order quickly from first drink to all the food. We had reservation for my son's birthday to celebrate with for of us together, but only two plates were there, and girl took time after came first appetizer. All meat came in later, but took for a while for the even plain rice too. Usually service is good and we have dinner within one hour. Lastly there is no word from server for happy birthday even. We might be back in the future, but just let you know we'd like better service next time. Thank you for taking concerns our opinion. Regards, Keiko
Good service and wonderful food. Servers are so friendly and explain how to cook very well!
It was my first visit and I loved the food and service at Gyukaku. The restaurant looked nice and was clean as well.
The food came in a timely manner. Their cheesy wontons and chicken karaage appetizers were amazing and I will get them again next time. Grilling our own meat was fun and the food tasted good; my favourite was the toro beef for both taste and value.
They also have a cool rewards app that gives you points for eating here and can be redeemed for dishes.
Overall, I had a great experience here and will be coming back. I made reservations and was glad I did, as people who came after me were told wait times were 40 - 50 minutes.
First time at this location, I usally go to the one on broadway, not sure if they have different pricing amd happy hour options or if all the loactions have changed it since I've visited last but the happy hour option wasn't as good as I had. My group of 5 was put in the back room area, I wish we had been seated elsewhere because it was really claustrophobic in the booth, in the back, no ventilation. Will stick to Broadway location next time.
We have always liked this place. It is fun to cook your own meat and share with others. Everything is fresh and tasty. The decor needs a little update. The menu can be confusing. Very busy place during the summer, calms down in the off season.
Delivious bbq :), good service, cheap drinks and good for a date or big group gathering.
Food has no flavour at all. It was quite disappointed!
Booked the table for 2 at 1815 but had to wait until almost 1840 to be seated.
