Could have reduced the volume - we were sat outside and conversation was difficult at times
Birthday lunch with friends
Far too Loud - it was difficult to hear my 2 friends at a small table and difficult to talk above the noise. The music was too loud and they should consider adding baffles hanging from the ceiling/rafters to absorb the noise. I would only go back if I could have a table on the patio. Hopefully the noise is dispersed outside.
Great food, great service and a beautiful space, but way too loud once the live band started. You could only carry on a conversation between songs.
I really liked the food, the experience and the service.
I would comment on the food if I had a chance to order. My family and I arrived a little after 11 for brunch. Despite having 5 servers repeatedly pass our table, we were not greeted nor acknowledged. The table across from us who arrived shortly after already got their drinks order. Our kids were not offered any beverages. Shamefully, one of the managers passed our table multiple times as well without acknowledging us.
After 30 minutes of sitting there, my family and I left.
An over all great experience with really good food! And as well had an awsome waiter!
Too loud to talk. Very slow service
Went in for brunch, wait staff is not attentive and spent a lot of time socializing by the bar rather than serving.
We had a great meal. The brussel sprout appetizer was fabulous. The soup of the day was a tomato based soup with fish and vegetables. Very nice to try something original. It was great. Fabulous service.
We didn’t receive any water at our table even though the empty glasses were sitting there and they could see them there and said they were going to bring it to us. The food is average but the issue is the service. They are friendly if you ask for it but not the most aware.
Food was ok service ok felt rushed in and out
Great service, waiter was friendly, very loud , food was good, my friends pasta was over cooked , my salad with shrimp was ok.
Wally the server was very attentive and Amy the hostess placed our group in a spectacular spot, good job both of you!!!! We will be back!
Food was great, swordfish and salmon were well done. Where you sit really makes a difference. We sat near the fireplace and escaped to loud noise inside while getting a nice breeze form outside. Our server was exceptional and made the experience great.
It was my mother’s 80th birthday which I made clear during my reservation however no one acknowledged this milestone. They didn’t even seat us at a nice table. I was so disappointed because I heard great things about this restaurant. The server was nice and made good recommendations. The food was great. To be honest, I didn’t feel like a valued customer. I wanted to make the dinner special for my mom but all she got was a piece of cheesecake with a candle on it placed in front of her at the table. If you have a special occasion to celebrate, this is not the place to do it. The staff appears to be too busy to make anyone feel important even if they are celebrating a milestone birthday (like turning 80).
A great place for a date. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a bottle of wine with our dinner in the evening sun. Our server was great. I come here often for the atmosphere and great food
Another great experience, as always!
The music was unbelievably loud which made it nearly impossible o hear my dinner companion - quite unfortunate as the food and service were great - the restaurant itself is incredible- it’s not a dance bar so really no reason for the high volume
For my Birthday it was awesome!!
The experience could have been much better if they brought the music down. Because the music was loud it forced people to speak louder so that they could be heard and as a result the noise level was not comfortable. Even though the service and food were great I will not go back because of the noise. It may be ok for younger clientele but it wasnt for me and my friends.
The patio was amazing, our waiter Jason was great, very happy and helpful. Food was awesome. Overall a great experience
My friends and I had a great time. Service was excellent. Beautiful patio. Gets a little noisy, but it's a fun atmosphere. I appreciated having gluten-free options, and they even a gluten free cheesecake. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Will be back!
Lovely patio, nice ambiance. Salad was bland but additional dressing was offered and added needed flavours. My lunch companion had the fish tacos and they were amazing.
Never disappointed when coming to Harper's Landing. My colleagues were happy to join me.
The food was really good- the appetizer (cheese/meat) board was a good size to share among 4 people. The only thing I would suggest is to turn the music down- very difficult to have a conversation without yelling across the table.
Very enjoyable, great food and excellent service. Dessert was free for the friend having a birthday, with a candle on top. We really appreciated that gesture. We were able to take our time, 3 ladies having lunch and catching up, and never felt rushed.
Our party if 4 we’re seated inside which was fine because it was a pretty steamy evening. What I couldn’t understand was the gas fire that was roaring behind our table which could not, apparently, be turned down or off. Made no sense in the middle of a heatwave!
Perfect venue for a birthday celebration with my two sisters. Great service and drinks. Really enjoyed the Landing salad and Signature Fish Tacos. Dessert on the house! Appreciated the ambience and the feeling of not being rushed. Will definitely be back to try other menu options.
Harper's menu was finally changed! It's interesting once again. When it first opened it was also quite good but the same menu went on forever to the point where we stopped going. Having said that the new menu is a nice change. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
My mother didn't like the Bistro steak so they replaced it with the better quality steak (I paid the higher price but at least we didn't have to pay for both). The replacement steak came fairly quickly. The food quality was very good, and the pricing is on par with the Keg I would say. My 71-year old mother complained about the volume of the room, but most people will find it normal for a large restaurant. We ate inside, but the patio looks like a great spot.
I had a great time with my mom and sister! They had never been and loved it. My sister said she felt like she was on vacation because of the live music and outdoor ambiance :)
Harpers is always a great and fun place for dinner. The atmosphere is always rocking. Service last night was amazing and you can’t go wrong with the food... always good!
We were seated outside on a lovely evening. The food was great but the high sound level of the music from the speakers required us to move tables once. Still too loud at the new table but we endured. Will have second thoughts about returning unless the sound level is curbed a bit.
Made a reservation specifically to sit in the dining room. Only space available when we arrived )10 min early) was in the bar area. So much for making a reservation!
Been here many times. This time we sat out on the patio and found it very noisy between the music outside noise and patrons. If the music was lower I think it would help as people would not have to speak so loud to be heard. Dinner was good. The only complaint I have is we ordered wings as an appetizer and although tasted good they were pink inside, some where red inside near the bone. I didn’t really worry too much about it. My real issue was when my waitress came to clear the table of the appetizer and asked how it was. We told her they were good but undercooked. She replied “undercooked?” as she was concerned and surprised. We never heard another word after that. In most establishments if a server asks how something is and receive a negative response they should immediately inform there manager. She obviously didn’t nor really seem to care if we were happy. Very disappointed in the service. After all why ask how the food is if your not going to do anything about it when you get negative feedback. Then they expect a 20%!tip because it’s now a norm. Let’s be clear. A tip is based on your level of service. Do your job as expected and get 20%. Don’t and get less or nothing.
Made reservations 4 days prior to date.
Arrived - seated immediately.
Waiter was training a new server - had to wait 25 minutes to get a drink at the start of our stay. Asked to be moved to another section - was told we would have to leave our table and wait at the bar for 30 minutes !
Long wait in between server coming back to check if we need more drinks or anything really.
Party seated behind us - man had to go find waiter to get their bill.
Suggestion - do not begin training a new server on a Saturday night.
Lively ambience, but the music was too loud, difficult to speak with wait staff and friends. Service was slow, because of busy time (6pmish on a Sat). Food quality was okay-good range, but nothing to advertise to friends about. Dessert was the best part of the meal and was excellent (cheesecake).
One of the best patios in oakville. Tasty, unique cocktails.
