    Had a fantastic meal! Beautiful décor, cheerful and helpful service staff and the food was brilliant! The portions were unexpectedly large. The steak I had was quite possibly the best I have ever experienced. I recommend highly.

    We have been regulars for quite some time. We brought guests with us who had never been, because we rant and rave about the experience all the time. We have often enjoyed treating guests to the quality of the experience. This time, we were seated at 10am with a party of four. Our breakfast was aprox $230 with about $45 tip but no liquor. We were wrapping up and getting ready to leave at 11:45. We were told “you can stay for about another 5 mins and then you will have to go, or move to the lounge. We’re setting up for tea now”. This was a real negative, and certainly a conclusion for our new guests. Potentially a conclusion for us as well - at least a factor in deciding where we will choose future Sunday brunch. At minimum, I would like my $45 gratuity back.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our high tea. The food, service and room were great, and we will be back. Our only suggestion would be to change the menu every so often. We've been before and the menu was about the same. Different sandwiches and deserts would be great. Thanks for a great time.

    We never expected to be able to sit outside in September in such an amazing space. Watching the sun go down and the city light up was luxurious. The food was sublime....the lobster risotto was decadent and the sticky toffee pudding perfect.

    We were very thrilled and pleased with our 'Royal Tea' experience. The tastiness and plentifulness of the food, the delicate exquisiteness of the tea, the charming ambience, not to mention the attentive, pleasing service of our server, Jacob, all contributed in making our visit a memorable one. For myself, who has enjoyed High Tea at the Empress in Victoria, BC, the Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, and something similar at the Château Frontenac in Quebec City, tea at the Harvest Room- Fairmont MacDonald was both a familiar,cosy,elegant experience and something brand new in my new home of Edmonton. For my daughter- in- law, who had never been to High Tea, it was a revelatory initiation into a world of delight. Definitely, an occasion to be repeated. Thank you!

    Outstanding customer service. Special thanks to our server who was lovely and handled a difficult situation with grace and kindness. Too bad there is some improvements needed in the kitchen. This meal was not up to expectations of a Fairmont.

    We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary so we were looking for a special meal. The ambience and service was excellent. The selection was limited, but what we ordered was well-prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

    Always a fabulous experience for dining. We enjoyed the summer patio & admiring the flowers as well as the lush river valley. The seasonal AB trout was delicious with tasty buckwheat risotto.

    We had a lovely 47th anniversary dinner on the patio. We had spent our wedding night at the Macdonald and decided to celebrate there again. At our ages, we felt we should celebrate every year. The patio is the perfect place to have a leisurely and delicious meal, even with the smoke in the river valley.

    Neg- No table cloth on table and china inside the afternoon tea stand could be nicer, also the stand is too plain and did not feel elegant. Positive- wonderful service, the tea is delicious, the selection of sandwiches is lovely.

    For all my special occasions I usually go to Ruth’s Chris but this time around I decided to change it up and go to the harvest room. As the server was great the food was not. I was very disappointed with the tuna appetizer, it was bland and dry most likely frozen, the sauce saved face. Moving on to the steak. The steak was not evenly cooked and the inside didn’t look red it had a white tint to it, this tells me they do not use high quality meat, also under seasoned. The desert May as well have came still wrapped in the packaging. All tasted frozen and store bought. Fairmont disappointed me and I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Chefs are amateur and food quality is terrible.

    The place is getting really run down. The bathrooms were gross. Menu is very limited and food didn't come out together for 2 people. Very small portions for the price as well.

    Great staff and pleasant ambiance! We really enjoyed the wine. As a foodie, I felt the food was very tasty but not exceptional. That said, I would certainly recommend the Harvest Room to anyone visiting Edmonton.

    My niece and I went to the Royal Afternnon Tea. It really was outstanding. There was more than enough food for both of us and ended up taking some home. The service was great and our server was so kind and attentive. We received as a gift a beautiful tea stainer. Exquisite! We will be back for sure.

    Everything was wonderful. The food experience was second to none. We dined outside overlooking to the south of the building to view the river valley and beyond into south Edmonton. Tables were beautiful with flowers laid down the centre well as spectacular bouquets spaced out down the length of the tables. Service was great, with efficient friendly staff. The food was like you wouldn’t get most places, some of it taking days to make and it was all paired with delicious wines. A very enjoyable c evening.

    New menu lacks options and what is there is underwhelming. Used to be a reliable date night but will not be returning with current menu. Music was very loud for a dining establishment and made private conversation difficult.
