   A wonderful dining experience. We chose an outdoor table on a beautiful evening, celebrating our son's graduation from Concordia University of Edmonton. The waiter recommended the Tomahawk Platter, with a couple sides for the four of us. Plenty of food and it was very well prepared and tasted delicious. We chose a Bordeaux Gran Cru wine and it was fabulous. This is an expensive restaurant but well worth it for a premier dining experience, perfect for a celebration of our youngest child's achievement.

   High tea at the MacDonald is always a lovely experience for whatever the celebration. My husband and I have been twice to celebrate our anniversaries and I’ve been with friends another time. Always fantastic service, great food and tea, and great ambiance. Can’t wait to come back again.

   We were at the Harvest Room for High Tea on Mother's Day. The dining area and views were beautiful of course, but the decor was very underwhelming. There were several accent tables that could have been decorated beautifully with things like fresh or even faux flowers but instead were decorated with towers of the Fairmont tea boxes. I have celiac and it was wonderful that they could accommodate this by providing me my own tiered tray of scones, sandwiches and sweets. Our server was very friendly, but took a long time to first greet the table. An alcoholic beverage was mistakenly brought to my daughter when it should have been non-alcoholic. Other trays around us had a special Mother's Day chocolate on their desserts, yet mine was missing. When my daughter spoke to a manager to request one for me, they thoughtfully brought out a special dessert with one... BUT, thank goodness we asked to confirm it was gluten-free, and after the server went to go check, I was told it wasn't. I did not get any kind of apology or even a visit from a manager about it. Very disappointing, especially for a Fairmont hotel. For the price we paid, much higher quality service should be expected, especially compared to other Fairmont hotels we have stayed/eaten at. We finished our stay with a walk on the grounds, enjoying the gorgeous views of the hotel and river valley and enjoying taking photos.

   We had an early Mother's Day celebration, and wanted to do it up right with a fine dining experience. We have been to the Harvest Room on a number of occasions, and it never disappoints. The service was excellent, as always, burt surprisingly quick. We had our appetizers and a before dinner drink but still had our main course within an hour of our arrival. The food is excellent. Just a thought though - for thlose of us with a fish and /or shellfish allergy, could there be a little more selection of appetizers? The selection was heavily weighted towards fish and shellfish. Ivan waited on us, and he was quick, efficient and very friendly, but he didn't hover, which was great. It is a great place for an elegant evening out, and we will return.

   Really disappointing food experience. Hash browns were cold and not crisp, eggs benny had egg whites running when asked for medium, French toast was not cooked. Etc. server was good to try and rectify but not what you expect when dining at Harvest Room.

    The food was absolutely amazing. Great presentation and hot. The ambiance was relaxing and comfortable. The staff member was very helpful and patient. If ordering the bread be prepared for enough for 4 people. We were only two but ate it all as it was delicious and served with butter and olive tapenade.

    Not as good an experience as in the past. Very attentive waiter, the red wine we ordered was far too warm. Had to send it back to cool off. Please keep your wines at room temperatures, not in the kitchen.

    The food was excellent. The service was “ok” and ambiance a bit “stale”. I wouldn’t say it’s a place to “Wow” clients, but it is a quiet place to have an intimate dinner with others where the food is absolutely excellent.

    Absolutely wonderful for the high tea experience. Please note the low score in value is just based on price point. The food is exceptional tasting ( a good mix of finger sandwiches and little bites of sweets ) and the atmosphere is amazing, this is why it is worth the price. I can not remember our servers name, he was an older Asian gentleman and was absolutely fantastic. I recommend stopping in the confederation lounge in the hotel for a drink either before or after , if before give yourself lots of time (atleast 1 Hr before ) as service can be slow in there but cocktails & mocktails are great. The lounge was newly renovated and beautiful. Ofcourse still a great patio for the sunny days .

    The afternoon tea experience was wonderful. Our server was excellent. We appreciated her care and attention as well as her advice on her favourite teas. We really enjoyed the food and the special birthday cake for my mom.

    The food was excellent. We tried an entree off the regular menu and the three course dinner from the Downtown Dining Week menu. Every flavor was so intense and delicious. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly, completely willing to accommodate us wherever possible. The restaurant itself is not too loud at all, and was a very pleasant environment.

    The Fairmont Hotel John MacDonald Harvest Room is always a safe bet for quality cuisine and beverages. As is the case with all Fairmont restaurants, the food and beverages are at a premium cost.
