I treated to friends to a night on the twin for their weeding gift. They arrived at the restaurant and all the champagne must have just kicked as the wife was on fire. The staff handled her so well and were very professional and playful. It was the end of the night and we enjoyed and incredible meal and cocktails. Will be back soon.
Absolutely beautiful........ just came in for dessert that Meyer lemon is a must.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. The food is fantastic, creative and well presented. The service is attentive, knowledgeable and professional. The ambiance is nice .. a bit noisy. Chairs can be upgraded though (not confy)...but a must for anybody who is looking for a great culinary experience.
Fantastic use of flavour in everything they serve.
Food was good but not good enough to be ranked 2nd in Canada
My wife and myself had the winter journey menu. It is an eight course journey of local foods paired with wines. A sommelier brings each wine prior to each serving of food and explains where it is from and why it pairs with the upcoming course. After that a different chef delivers each course and explains what it is and how it was done. The presentation of the food was worth the price. It was fantastic. Our third course was Haida Gwaii red sea urchin paired with a single malt scotch. It was served on a piece of cedar bark with a plate forest moss with bowls of mushroom broth...… I can still picture it in my mind.
I highly recommend the Hawksworth. My wife and myself will go back soon.
Many mixups in our order.
Opentable system is not connected with the restaurant. Went to the restaurant and being notified no space is available
Perhaps a place to go for a special occasion with friends but dining just the 2 of us we felt that it was a little stuffy and pretentious, making it feel difficult to relax. As for value for money it was very much on the expensive side for the food and wine that we received.
Amazing food and seamless service with anticipation of our every need
It was a special evening for friends visiting from another continent and Hawksworth and it's staff performed memorbably. The 4 of us ordered the entirety of the starters, desserts and half the mains, and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. When the staff realized we were there to try the enitrety of the menu they extended our reservation till closing. Our friends are world travellers who always fit in Michelin 3 stars in their travels to the US and Europe. They said that the Hawksworth experience was a true delight and the meal prepartion and presentation was on an equal footing. The server was prompt, attentive but not obtrusive. The sommelier knew his craft and properly paired our palates and our meals. My friends were a bit put off by the jeans and hoodies worn by some of the other guests. "That is smart casual in Vancouver", I said. "Heathens of fine dining", they said.
Fantastic location for a special evening. Everything was outstanding.
Quite over rated... shocked that $20 dollars were charged simply for hot water... food was alright. The starter hamachi was interesting with the mandarin oranges but the hamachi did not have much of the fresh hamachi taste (especially compared to the ones served at Japanese resturaunts). Foie gras/ berry starter was also unique but the berry overshadow the taste of foie gras.
Main was decent but was a bit shocked when the waiter asked/suggested adding black truffle to the lamb main... given the strong gamey taste, I’m a bit uncertain how much black truffle would be needed to taste the truffle on the lamb.
Always good....a very nice room, excellent food and strong service
I've been to Hawksworth at least a dozen times for lunch with business clients, but the latest time I went there I was extremely disappointed and honestly I will probably never go back again. Had brunch for two people and shocked to get pour bill and see we were charged $8 for two hot waters! I have no problem spending money for a high-end restaurant but I hate greedy restaurants that try to gouge customers like this. We've been to all the top-rated restaurants in Vancouver and this was the ONLY place that ripped us off for some boiled tap water. Won't get any of my corporate business again EVER.
We had barely finished our meal that our server came to our table to drop off the bill. Not 10 minutes later she comes by again and switches the bill “in case we wanted it split”. Not 10 minutes after that she comes back and stands there with the debit machine.
Between being sat down and being expected to pay less than 45mins had elapsed.
We couldn’t have been more obviously shown the door if she’d brought our coats and stood there holding the front door open.
Don’t get me wrong, the food was excellent and we had no issues with the kitchen. Our eggs Benedict were perfectly poached and the hollandaise was obviously made from scratch. The dining room and place settings were beautiful. It’s unfortunate that the end of service wrecked the whole meal.
Hawksworth has been touted as THE fine dining restaurant in Vancouver... However, if you want a first class experience, and feel welcome and looked after, I suggest MARKET by Jean-Georges.
All and all, Hawksworth wasn’t worth the downtown parking fees.
Amazing!! Best food accommodation ever and best tasting menu
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Disappointed in two ways.
1. The lighting was so dark one could hardly see the beautiful food on the plate.
2. Though they replaced my main dish it originally arrived so rare it could be considered raw. Quality control in a place like this should not have allowed that to happen.
It was busy and I think a bit pretentious but delicious.
I had my 1st &2nd anniversary in this restaurant (like 2015& March/2016), I was really love the food and service there~ so tonight, I went back to these restaurant, and I want to have the same experience as before~ the service was still good but the food was NOT same as before~
This is my 3rd lunch at Hawksworth with important clients. Every time the experience has been great. The servers are very professional and pleasant, the room is well designed and the food is good.
The food is perfect for those people who want a light elegant meal, but would not be ideal for someone who wants a huge lunch. The only tiny complaint is that some of the tables are too exposed (in the line of traffic) for a quiet and intimate conversation, so make sure you get there early and they'll be very good about giving you the table you request.
Excellent service and presentation of food. Worth every dollar.
Excellent food, ambiance and top notch service. From the time we entered the door and were received at reception, to the server, all went above and beyond expectation. Would definitely recommend for fine dining.
An evening to remember. The food and the service were impeccable. I highly recommend :-)
It's just the perfect restaurant we have been looking for!
only 1 appetizer choice, 2 main and 1 dessert in dine out menu. over priced.
Waiters were good but did mess up some of our orders because more than one waiter was taking our orders.
Best Dine out Meal I had. The Octopus was amazing!
THE SERVICE IS IMPECCABLE. THE FOOD IS AMAZING, HOWEVER, IT SHOULD BE SLIGHTLY CHEAPER OR A LITTLE BIT LARGER PORTIONS. REALLY ENJOYED IT!
The food was more than spectacular, it rivals any meal I have had anywhere in the world, including Per Se in New York! The service was impeccable. My only issue is a petty one and that was was being charged for water! I’m not talking special water, I am talking about clear bottles of both sparkling and still water... very strange practice for a meal that will easily cost you several hundred dollars.
High end in every way. Memorable quality. Exceptional. Helpful attentive staff. Worth the splurge.
We looked forward to being at the restaurant but were disappointed in the food preparaion
Somehow a good friend and I whom both love food hadn't tried Hawksworth until now. I suppose in the back of my mind I always thought it would be something like stuck-up servers, small serving sizes, etc. Our server whom I dubbed "Mr Mustache" was nice enough even though I teased him and asked about the dineout menu, which he kind of starred and replied that there isn't one for dinner. We started with the hamachi appetizer dish, which was mostly average, but I was very impressed with how they split the serving in half, i.e. two nicely plated sets of 3 pieces each (see photo for reference). We hadn't asked him to do it so 'twas a nice gesture. Back to the entree - I had the duck breast and she had the veal tenderloin. Both were amazing. I'm a big fan of "sauces", especially ones with a citrusy-sweet tang that I find complements duck very nicely. The texture was also excellent - a perfect medium-rare with a slightly crispy skin. I enjoyed the entire dish immensely and found the serving size to be very generous. My friend also raved about her veal tenderloin (see photo). We skipped dessert in favour of changing the venue but was pleased with the mini brownies and candied jelly. It was a nice touch to end a pleasant dining experience. Needless to say I will be coming back.
Food & service is very good
spectacular service and outstanding menu. pricey...but a real experience !
We were a little early for our reservation but the host greeted us, stored our coats, and escorted us to the lounge where we waited for our table to be prepared. From the host, to the lounge bartender, and our server the service at Hawksworth was impeccable! On top of that the food was absolutely amazing!! We ordered Scallops for appetizer, Ling Cod and the feature of the day- White Truffle Tagliatelle. Mmmmmmm. For dessert we had the Candy Cap Ice Cream and Dark Chocolate Chantilly and OMG I died and went to heaven! Hawksworth definitely lived up to their reputation for their top notch service and quality food. It was an amazing experience! Perfect perfect perfect.
i had never been to Hawksworth and had heard so much about the restaurant, the ambiance was what i expected, the food was exceptional and very good. We ended up ordering off the regular menu as I found the dine out menu not that appealing.
Was everything I was looking for from an upscale restaurant. Will definitely be coming back
Phenomenal service and outstanding food. Each meal was a collection of flavors put together artfully and expertly. You do not want to miss this for a special occasion1
Birthday celebration. We all had the tasting menu that was unique, creative and a culinary experience. Each course was explained in detail the wines for each course were well chosen and the delivery of each course was well paced. If it was possible we would give Hawksworth six stars. Great experience, great menu and excellent staff.
Always good for fine dining or something better than your usual good food for value Vancouver food fare. After paying a lot of money for mediocre food in Maui, Hawksworth is worth it.
