What a wonderful experience...
Hawksworth is a wonderful oasis in the grand old Hotel Georgia. Bright, airy and white with attentive and professional staff.
Easter brunch was unbelievably good with creative ingredients and presentation.
It started with an absolutely superb yogurt parfait - carrot, vanilla yogurt the best parfait we've ever had.
The main course was poached egg smashed avocado, smoked bacon, on toasted hot cross bun that likewise was wonderful and wonderfully presented. The blend of flavors worked perfectly.
We finished off with milk chocolate crémeux cocoa soil, poached pear creatively presented in a small clay pot; fun and tasty.
What a great place. You should go and check it out.
Hawksworth is simply the best foodie experience in the city. This is complemented by knowledge staff that makes you feel welcome and well looked after without hovering. This is my fourth visit to Hawksworth and I’ve always been impressed.
Easter weekend visit to vancouver
Great food. Great service. Easy to park at pacific center and walk across to Hawksworth.
With all the things I had heard about Hawksworth, both from friends and the media, and having had a lovely breakfast there previously, I must admit, I had high expectations. I had been given a gift certificate for a Chef's Tasting menu, and was looking forward to the experience, assuming that this is a way for a chef to showcase his talents and impress people enough to want to return to the restaurant. Needless to say, the choice of dishes (with the exception of the Hamachi salad, this was exceptional) was rather uninspired, and while well prepared, it was frankly pedestrian, and not what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Perhaps I would have had a different experience had I ordered off the menu, but as it was, I left feeling like the chef made zero effort to impress with the "Chefs' Tasting Menu" that was served.
We had a wonderful evening out, the tasting menu was awesome, the dishes were imaginative, tasty and beautifully presented. The waiter was very professional, friendly and attentive. His conversation and little touches ensured we all had memorable evening. The only thing that made it less than perfect was that it got very noisy later in the evening as a number of larger parties filled the room.
The overall experience was great, our server Dylan took great care of us. We ordered the tasting menu which on the whole was too acidic. Every dish had something sour/pickled in it. The whole table agreed that it was too much and made the dishes kind of all taste the same.
Great service, good food! Everything is perfect! Love it
The quality of service at Hawksworth never ceases to amaze. Once again every member of staff wishes my wife a happy birthday which is why we always come back. It’s the little details that matter and Hawksworth is the only restaurant that consistently pays attention to those details. The ambience, food and general disposition of everyone their always makes for a wonderful evening. Beyond this the food is wonderful and makes us wonder why we wait so long between visits. No other restaurant in Vancouver will make you feel as special as Hawksworth and they get it right every single time.
always impeccable service, great food!
Lost a step from what it was. Have eaten here many times. The last two were disappointing. Food and service.
We ordered the tasting menu, one of the dish with suckling pig with raddish and pickles, it was not a suckling pig, it was more like full grown pig and it didn't go well with those tastless pickles. Another dish was the lamb ribs with 5 types of cooking method, it was too fatty and oily. All other dishes was great.
The service was great, the drink selections were great. Overall great experience but the worst steak I have ever had. The steak was terrible.
Delicious and creative food offerings on the tasting menu. However, wine pairings were sub-par. Nothing from France or California. Italian wine was from Northern Italy, not Tuscany. One “wine” pairing was sake. Another, non-dessert was Muscato...the list goes on. overall, trust the chef on the food and order the wine for yourself.
Everything is fine except one thing. My client decided on the fix price menu and was quite excited about it, but when she ordered it she was told it was only available if both of us had it. So the first interaction with the server was a negative and awkward experience which took the sheen off the whole lunch.
Too noisy for lunch and the service is slow. There is a big difference between lunch and dinner
Wonderful meal and superb friendly (not stuffy) service. Thanks to Juliette for the interesting conversations about wine- it was a really fun evening.
bertand was a brilliant waiter and so was the team. the resturant was just what id expect from a place of that quaility.
the taster menu was really stunning and some really great outstanding high end food!!
Poor service, average food. We asked them to split the soup, they told us to do that by ourselves.
Dinner was delicious and the ambience of the restaurant was very comfortable. The service staff were great.
Amazing! Couldn’t have been better. Thoughtful and experienced service. Thank you!
Everything was excellent except the servers mixed up our order for a second bottle of wine. Food was divine and ambience exceptional. Thank you.
Outstanding service; I’ve had better food at Hawksworth on other occasions, I didn’t really like the Lin Cod, it lacked flavour and the brown rice was too sticky, I should have chosen something else. I will always return again for many business meals as I love the level of service and the ambiance.
Went for lunch. The server charged each person 5 dollars for tap water without saying water was 5 dollars until the bill arrived. We complained and he took it off the bill. Also charged additional 5 dollars for a hot water with lemon. The food was okay. Had burrata and fois gras to start. Both were ok. Nothing special. Fois gras was burried in this sweet berry jello. Burger was ok. Have had better for less money. The lamb was very tender but not that flavorful. The server was not attentive and made a mostake with a request. Overall it was extremely overpriced and the food was mediocre. There are far better restaurants in
consistently great tastes and service
very happy & looking forward to returning :)
We were celebrating a 20th Anniversary and from the moment we walked in the hostess invited us in with her charming personality. The service was impeccable. Amanda we a sweetheart and very attentive and professional. We were treated to a glass of prosecco to celebrate. The food was excellent, very inventive and delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this restaurant.
As usual, Hawksworth delivers a quality experience that makes for a very special night out.
Did not live up to expectations unfortunately. Not very attentive service, highly over-priced wine list (triple retail) and food was just OK, not stellar as one would expect from sure a celebrated chef.
The food and the service is perfect.
Had the tasting menu, and loved it. But just have in mind that it takes more than 2 hours lol
Consistently delicious as always. Impeccable service!
Amazing service, and even more amazing food!
Very poor experience. Arrived on time for reservation and then escorted to worst table in the restaurant. Many open tables were available for seating. Requested different seating and after a few moments were escorted to a lovely corner table. Atmosphere is old and outdated. Service was excellent. We ordered a la carte 1/2 dozen oysters and sirloin. Oysters were gritty and contained shell fragments. The sirloin was tough and gristled and potatoes undercooked. Both dishes were sent back. The kitchen served us a veal dinner next. Veal was nicely cooked. Overall we doubt we will return.
What happened, Hawksworth? This restaurant has really gone downhill in the last few years. The wait and bar staff seem disinterested, a server dumped about 1/2 cup of sauce on our meat dishes before we could object, drinks have suffered since they lost their great bartenders. Too bad!
Fabulous Service, and Delectable Cuisine. A fun evening of celebration for our party of six. We will be sure to come again.
Nothing was too much for the staff in the bar when we arrived like the North wind looking for seating for six.
Our congrats to the management for creating the underpinnings of an ongoing success.
We have enjoyed this restaurant many tomes but were disappointed with the tasting menu and the service. The restaurant was quite noisy and it was difficult to speak to each other.
It seemed like to staff was trying too hard and intruded on our evening by frequently telling us how good the food was!
The food was very creative and good ... but not very good or great. It was a little too contrived.
This is a very fine restaurant. Our food was delicious. We were a little surprised at the fast pace. It seemed as though they wanted to move us out as quickly as possible.
