Amazing Sunday brunch. Striploins were excellent, as were the mussels and dessert. Beautiful surroundings and a nice drive from Markham.
The service is absolutely amazing! We had gone to celebrate a birthday and from the moment we walked in they wished the birthday boy a happy birthday, special added touch to the dessert with a candle and birthday message. Love all the extra unexpected touches. Thank you! The food is as amazing as the service. Very tasty, favourable and cooked to your liking. Portions are also very large. Location and scenery are breathtaking. Thank you for making it an extra special day for the birthday boy!!
Overall fantastic and we plan to return!!!!
We had the most delicious meal. The food was simply incredible and the service was outstanding. We would highly recommend it. It’s not cheap but most definitely worth it.
Our experience at Headwaters Restaurant was exceptional. We were treated to one of the best tables overlooking the waterfall, and our server Carrie Anne was prompt, kind and explained our menu options. The food was incredible and exceeded our expectations, but the thing that stood out the most for us was the kindness of the staff. When my mother had a mild medical emergency, Angela assisted us with reassurance and compassion. I was very impressed by the experience and will definitely be back in the future! Thank you so much for making my mother's birthday lunch a happy and stress-free experience!
Excellent food, presented beautifully. Lovely table by the falls. Nice unobtrusive service.
I made a reservation online for my girl friends and I for tea. The service from the manager was horrendous and we ended up leaving before we even ordered. My friend and I arrived and immediately were asked are the other two parking? Wondering where they were like they were in a rush to serve us. Once everyone arrived we looked at the tea menu and asked the manager if there was a lunch option for my two friends one being gluten and couldn’t have the tea sandwiches and wanted a salad and the other who had allergies to fish and could not eat the salmon sandwich and if she could replace that for another meat sandwich. The blonde manager was extremely rude and pushy saying that they couldn’t accommodate those allergies and we pre booked tea and did not write any of these allergies when we made reservations online. I told her I have never booked online before and didn’t know I could not tell them food allergies on site, that I have not been here before. Anyways, they put pressure on us saying they already prepared the meal and they could make a salad for gluten free person and they didn’t have any other meat sandwich and would give another cucumber sandwich. We ended up leaving just from the attitude she gave us. Don’t think I would ever go back. Sad because I hear the scones are good.
Both the service and the food were incredible. We will definitely be back.
The food here is very fine - beautifully prepared and presented using the freshest ingredients. The tomato and eggplant soup was delicious, as was the Cornish hen and omelette. I really appreciate that Headwaters often has an omelette on the lunch menu. A properly prepared omelette is not a simple dish, and this one had an interesting mix of mushrooms and cheese - it was delicious.
The only criticism we could make is that the background music this time was what we regard as whiny, depressing folk-type music. Someone's taste perhaps, but not ours. Mercifully it wasn't too loud.
The restaurant was fantastic and Melody our waitress was amazing! All the food we ordered was fantastic. The atmosphere was very romantic. We will definitely be going back.
My husband and I went to Headwaters on a Saturday night. Our server was very polite and attentive. The food was super tasty and just the right amount. We will definitely be back!
My wife’s dish contained mushrooms that were improperly washed. The service was great.
Great food. Fantastic service!! Highly recommend.
Loved it here! The atmosphere was great and the view was beautiful. Also really enjoyed the high tea service.
We were left standing at the coat check for ten minutes without being greeted or even noticed and when we rang the bell we were told to hold on a minute. Not a great start. Since we were twenty minutes early we thought we could sit at the bar but although handed a menu we were again left sitting there for ten minutes with no one even asking us if we wanted a drink.
We were shown to our table. Nice enough (the bones of the mill are amazing) but the decor is tired and oddly fussy. Terrible carpet, weird chairs, bad art on the walls.
Our wait staff was attentive and polite but humourless and anxious.
The complimentary amuse-bouche was a riot of competing flavours and textures that cut the roof of my mouth and finally amounted to just a strong flavour of parsnip. A failed and over-fussed experiment. The scallop appetizer was excellent. The other appetizer was all wrong and again, way over-thought. A weird glue-y foam base was perhaps cream cheese with the flavour removed? Too many things going on.
For the main we both had the beef, which was good but not medium rare. Over-cooked. The price was $200 for two with NO WINE OR ALCOHOL. For that price the food, ambience and service ought to be exceptional. It was not. The woman at the front of house was extremely anxious and stressed and totally distracted. The first person one encounters at a place like this sets the tone for the evening. I will absolutely not recommend this restaurant, even though I have been going to the Millcroft for thirty years.
Had an extremely enjoyable dinner here Saturday night. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was phenomenal. Would highly recommend!
Melody's service was outstanding - we can't wait to return!
The service was amazing as our waitress went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. The food was beyond delicious and we had wonderful live music while enjoying our feast. Very romantic
We were staying at millcroft for my husbands birthday as well as a date night away from the kids. We had a table in the pod. This was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. The whole experience was fantastic.
The food is always high quality, taste always great, presentation amazing.
The wait staff is top, they are very considerate to your needs. The wait staff is very knowledgeable of the food that they are serving, that is very good for people with food allergies. Ambience is always 100 percent. My husband and I will be returning to Headwaters and highly recommend if you like good food.
Long dark hair in Risotto, tried to pull it out but it was so imbedded in the rice, it wouldn't budge. Showed waitress, they brought a new one, I barely ate any as was so turned off. Didn't take it home either. Expected it to be taken off bill, but they just discounted the dish by a few dollars. Guess the going rate in finding long hair in your food in an expensive restaurant is about $12.00 off the $150 cheque. Disappointed ☹️.
We had a delightful Afternoon Tea with all of the details that make a tea special. Most appreciated was the spectacular way the pastry chef could accommodate 2 gluten free guests. The warm, fresh scones were amazing! Thank you!
Everyone was polite and kind. The server was very knowledgeable and great! Food are good portions, we have 2 apps and 2 mains. We could’ve shared one main and been satisfied.
This meal was absolutely first rate. The Spinach Gnudi were soft and flavourful and served in a delicious confit of cherry tomatoes. The Cornish Hen was exquisite - stuffed with pureed meat from the legs of the hen and served with baby root vegetables and a potato puree. The Farro and Barley Risotto was served with tomato fondue and smoked and oven dried tomatoes. The farro added an interesting texture to the barley and the sauce was delicious. A very fine meal all around.
Service was fantastic.
Fantastic place. But phone to check your food choices if booked online especially at holidays. We thought we were booked for a dinner menu on Open Table. The computer popped up the dinner menu at 4 pm. Instead it was High Tea. Still good food and service, but unexpected surprise as my husband does not drink tea.
We were told to leave early to set up for dinner. We were not finished.
Millcroft Inn's atmosphere is always enjoyable, particularly at Christmastime when everything is beautifully decorated for the season. It's wonderful when Winter accommodates the day with a generous dusting of glistening snow.
The food is beautifully plated and tastes heavenly. The servers are pleasant and friendly, also professional and attentive at the same time. I recommend the Australian shiraz wine with dinner! :)
Despite the busyness of the season, there always seems to be enough parking to accommodate us 'revellers'. You've got a winning formula, Millcroft. DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING!
The traditional afternoon tea at Headwaters Restaurant is the finest experience and the best late lunch you can enjoy in Caledon and Orangeville! Such an amazing royal experience! Dress up and have fun! Great value, fine foods, amazing desserts. Drink tea like a royal!
I have dined at the Milcroft restaurant many times over the last three decades. The first time was so brilliant. Subsequent visits always paled in comparison. Not this time! We were so impressed by the spectacular flavours and textures, lovely local ingredients, excellent (not over the top or trying too hard) presentation. We had three starters and split a main. Everything was delightful, flavourful, and perfectly executed. I can't say enough about the chefs. Who knew collard greens could be so delicious? The scallops were the best I've had. And I've had some good scallops. Just wonderful. Will go back soon - each season, I think.
Wonderful service. Food was great.
Our waitress we had for our second visit there was just as pleasant as the first time we had her. Great experience.
I had the short ribs and my friend had the Cornish Hen. Both had good flavour and presentation. The ambiance was very nice in a rustic way. Lisa, our server was great - very friendly, helpful with suggestions and attentive, which we appreciated. The dessert was okay - I had 3 little tarts and she had chocolate. I felt both could have had better flavour. I found the pricing in this restaurant a little high for the product, but overall had a good experience.
The presentation of the food was incredible! We had to take photos of every dish. The wait staff knew every ingredient of every dish and exactly how it was prepared which I found very impressive. The flavours and tastes were amazing. I believe this was the best meal I have ever had!
Great restaurant altogether. The desert was not very exciting though. Not very flavorful. However, the rest was great.
The staff, food, and dining area were wonderful. The only downside was the very large, very loud table next to us. The noise level was overwhelming at times but the waitress was lovely, the food was delicious, and the dining area was charming.
Love this restaurant, great food and service ,it is a great experience of amazing food !
we had a most enjoyable visit in all aspects and look forward to a return visit.
From the online booking to the greeting and the door as we arrived started our wonderful experience. Angela and Melissa gave tremendous service and the chef accommodated a vegetarian request and each appetizer, entre and desserts were delicious. As we left we were offered assistance to the car as it was raining. The coat check attendant assisted my mother in law with the coats and the front desk was warm friendly and invited us back It was a delicious warm and memorable experience. Thank you for the table by the water fall. We will highly recommend the Millcroft Inn!!!!!
A really wonderful experience! A beautiful place with amazing service! We will be back!
