    We had a nice experience at Hemenways. Our server was very attentive and constantly checking up on us. For starters we ordered Rhode Island Calamari and oysters. Classic - cant go wrong with that. Then for our entrée - I ordered the Lobster Tortelloni and my husband ordered the Surf and Turf. Both were very good. For the surf and turf, you have the option to “build up” and different combination options. Lastly, we ordered the creme brule, delicious! We will be returning.

    First time out in Providence after moving back to RI. Our waiter, Jacob, gave us time to enjoy our experience. He provided excellent recommendations for oysters. Our courses were excellent, ending with a crème brûlée for dessert.

    Food and service were both excellent. Our second meal here. Seafood is superb ! Two had the seafood casserole and one had swordfish. We had drinks and appetizers-scallops in bacon were perfection and the caramelized cabbage was unique, very tasty. Do try the plum side car. My son and DIL devoured their desserts and I thoroughly enjoyed my chocolate martini.

    The service was top notch. Our server was very attentive. We sat outside. It was nice but chilly. The heater was started and when the hostess noticed it went out she immediately had the propane tank changed. It made for an enjoyable evening and much quieter then sitting inside. Food was delicious especially the RI clam chowder and Surf and Turf. Could have had a little more of the delish potatoes. Can’t beat the 3 hour free parking! We will be back.

    If you want to be ignored by your waiter and wait an hour for your salad, then this your place. Huge disappointment after reading reviews. The food that we did receive was either bland with no flavor or so complex that the ingredients were locked in a cage match. I would not go back even if I had a gift card. I cannot recommend Hemenway’s at all.

    Thank You, Amy!! Service was amazing (Amy) and the entire meal was so much fun - AGAIN. Keep findingour way to Hemenway’s on occasions (birthdays, anniversary’s, PPAC shows, ) and we discussed a return on just a regular evening on our way to the parking garage… Delicious meal, delightful and knowledgeable service and an overall amazing time. Thanks again to Amy and everyone at Hemenway’s for an awesome birthday dinner - we’re going to make our way back for an evening just because….

    My husband and I celebrated a friend’s birthday at Hemenway’s on Wednesday. evening. We couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Starting off with the calamari and ending with the delicious key lime pie and chocolate raspberry dessert, made for a delicious, memorable dinner. Brandi, our waitress was extremely personable, friendly, thoughtful, helpful (with our selections) and attentive. Thanks to all who helped go make this experience so special! A return visit is in order!

    The food at Hemenway's was very good, but what surpassed it was the service. One of the servers named Shelby was amazing, and she went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful evening. Thanks, Shelby!

    Excellent menu with lots of fresh seafood options. The scallops were outstanding and how can you go wrong with a 3 lb Maine lobster. Brandi did an excellent job on service. Great range of wine choices.

    Our lunch experience at Hemenway’s exceeded every expectation.In preparation for our visit to Providence. I researched Best Restaurants to have lunch in Providence. It was on every list. From being seated at a perfect table facing the river, the outstanding service by Juan to the very delicious Power Lunches, the total experience was outstanding. The icing on the cake was the very attentive service by Garrett one of the managers. Highly recommend this restaurant.

    It's was our 30th wedding anniversary and this is one of our go to places. Thought they would have done something like Capital Grille but no. Our server Matt was great and the food was as always spot on.

    Hemmingway’s was simply outstanding for my wife’s and I anniversary dinner. The weather allowed us to eat outside in the garden and it was beautiful. My service was spectacular and the food is always spectacular.

    2nd time there and from out of town. Excellent service, food and ambiance. The business lunch we held was in the middle of the room, yet we never felt crowded or had concerns for our privacy. I think our waters were always full, the hot towels that were offered were a nice surprise, and the food came out in smooth sequence. Also, server was very thoughtful in allowing us to continue our conversation with minimal interruptions (they have to a little - they are running a restaurant!). Fantastic - will be back.

    Went to Hemenway's for our anniversary and everything was lovely. Rose petals sprinkled on the table and a surprise dessert at the end. We started with an order of the Stuffie's and they were delicious!! Better than I've had anywhere before. I got the Flounder and my husband got the baked stuffed lobster and we were both very happy about our choices. Will definitely make this our go-to Providence restaurant.
