Chivito steak fry thing awmazing!!! Social distancing was top notch! And i hope you stay open through covid19!!!
This was my first visit in a few years. All for of us were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food.
The service was excellent.
We'll be back!
One of the best steaks in Winnipeg! My wife and I go there every time we are in Winnipeg. Caberara is 24oz of awesomeness!
Celebrated a birthday before a play. Great friendly and accommodating service and delicious food. Worth the price and had a lovely time.
The food was as good as usual but the appetizer took too long to arrive even though the venue was not overly busy.
We’ve been to Hermanos in the past and enjoyed it. We were very disappointed in this visit. Received the appetizer after the entrees, were not given refills on water or offered refills on drinks. Asked for a second beer and it was never brought. Steaks were cooked very differently from what was ordered. The undercooked steak was taken back to the kitchen, and a discount was offered on the overcooked steak. There was no offer to replace it. When we received the bill, a 5% discount was given on the overcooked steak. Although it was happy hour, regular price was charged for the drinks. The bill was corrected when we asked the server about it. Overall, the quality of the food and the service were not up to par with the price.
The vinyl on the seat was cracked and my tights got caught. I had to ask to sit elsewhere. Our server had too many tables and had trouble keeping up. She also was not familiar with the wine menu. Overall, just not the experience I would expect given the proce point and in the past I have had great experiences.
Waitress got one of the drink orders wrong.
Food was great. Noise level was not an issue at after the Start time for local plays we had the place to ourselves
I was out with a few friends. The ambiance made for a very enjoyable evening and the food was very good. Thank you!
Really great food. Table for 4 is very squishy though. The menus are huge and take up too much room. We were seated right by the wall heater. I was melting by the time we left lol
Great place! Dinner and appys before the show. Full props for service, table ambiance. Usually all five stars but steak salad (a go to!) this time was a bit grizzled. Paella is the best anywhere!
This is an affordable cosy eating establishment located near the MTC, Warehouse, menu has a good selection of food, alcoholic beverages, and deserts. Staff are friendly and professional.
I have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends! Give it a try!
Celebrated my daughter's birthday with 3 others February 24. My steak, and my wife's were overcooked. I requested rare and hers to be medium well. Visited Hermanos several times before and always was satisfied except for this time around. We didnt return our meals because there would be a further wait and we were hungry.
Very popular restaurant and rightly so. Managed to sneak in last minute likely due to Festival du Voyager and an NHL game stealing people away which was lucky as we were in town only for a few days. In any event we scored a nice table and were treated very well. The seafood stew made me want to work there so I could learn how to make it.
Milanesa Especial my friend had was very good.
The “Fresh Bread” is dried out slices of bread, crust ends included, put in an oven to dry them out then serve. Do yourself a favour, take this off the menu. I didn’t see or taste any coconut in the Paella which in my opinion could use some spices. It says spicy but was bland. The payment/debit machine an automatic 20% tip. Hmmmm
We were seated quickly. The waitress was pleasant and our food was served at the proper temp. We have been coming to Hermanos for many years and love the ambience along with the menu choices.
Last night's double date with my brother was terrible. Our server, Najara, was the worst. She only focused on my brother and his gf and brushing me and my bf aside. Giving us rolled eye and annoyed tune. The coffee cup was very dirty. We all felt like the server didnt like me and my bf for some odd reason. The food was mehh. My bf and I got the large paella and the rice was raw and watery. The lomo was small portion for the price. Anyway, we didnt have a good time and will most likely not come back.
1st and last experience Hair in food (didn’t mention it to server). Steak was fatty and no flavor. Potatoes were cold. Waitress didn’t ask us if we wanted anything else to drink throughout our meal. Couple beside us who came after us received their food before we did. Extremely ill about an hour after eating. Night was ruined.
very good food waitress was very attentive been there three times the past couple years never been disappointed once
Ceviche was drowning in acid. So were the vegetables that came with the charcuterie board. Charcuterie was awful too. A few slices of sliced meat and one type of cheese. The calamari was fair at best. We were there at 9:30 pm on Valentines Day. Maybe we were unfortunate to have been there at the tail end of a busy night. This was our first experience and unfortunately we will not return. Too many other good options to choose from in Winnipeg.
Great spot. Though parking was tough. However it made for a great before and after dinner walk to help digest the great food. The ambiance was great near the windows. Hearing the live singer made for great back ground. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
We had fabulous service and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back and I would recommend Hermano’s to anyone.
It was pretty good, the steak I had was a little underdone (no big deal) but the steak had a lot of tough fat in it, it was difficult to cut through with a steak knife, I’ve had much better steaks, still enjoyed my experience.
First time experience, food was amazing and service was wonderful. Server was very knowledgeable about the wines.
Great food, great wine, knowledgeable server. Great evening
Our service was great and my meal (chicken) was very good. My two other companions found the pickerel not very flavourful. They also thought that the coleslaw, being pickled/marinated should be identified as such. They both thought the fires and chips were delicious.
Our server was fantastic and the restaurant in general was very nice. The thing we enjoyed the least unfortunately was the food. Two of us had the fish tacos and found the fish was very bland and the empanadas were quite dark and tasted overdone
What a wonderful evening out at Hermanos! We were a large group of 20 people celebrating a birthday, and our waitress was incredible (Monday night) - very helpful, patient, and gave awesome wine and food recommendations for pairings. I really enjoyed the ambience, and the seating is comfortable (chairs and benches). I ordered the seafood stew and it was 10/10. Other people had the steak and the burgers, and also positive reviews all around!
This was a rare miss for Hermano’s. As usual, the atmosphere was exuberant and pleasant. Unfortunately though, the service was only okay, the appetizer was lukewarm, and the LOMO (beef tenderloin) was undercooked. The server apologized, tried to make it right, and made an adjustment to the bill. This won’t prevent me from going back however, as this is the first time it’s been anything less than exceptional.
Fairly empty restaurant but seated in a busy corner. Service very slow, had to get up a few times to find the waitress. Food was so-so, not worth the price charged.
Food was delicious and the service was wonderful! I would highly recommend.
Pre MTC. When we told the waitress we needed to get in and out fast because we were going to the theatre she was very accommodating and so was the kitchen! Good drinks and food!
The food and service were excellent. If there is live music, it is a bit loud and hard to have conversations at the table, but not impossible, and the live music was quite appropriate to the restaurant. Would definitely return for another dinner.
Excellent service. The best tapas was prawns with carmelized onion. Empandas we're good but the vegetable one was too much potato (lentils or black beans would improve it). Timing, atmosphere and food temperature we're excellent.
Celebrated our 10th Anniversary with dinner at Hermanos.
They treated us to a celebratory drink and we thoroughly enjoyed our steak dinners. Looking forward to returning.
The grilled streak skewers are delicious, but a little small in portion for the price.
The service was excellent
Great lay out
server had amazing recommendations and she made it a great experience
Food was delicious, our server was helpful & friendly, and drinks were tasty.
I would recommend the restaurant for the food, but not for the atmosphere. We wanted a quiet, romantic dinner and the noise level did not create this at all. It was very hard to talk and to hear each other. The waiter was a little distracted and not very attentive, but very polite and helpful in some sense, but should have been more attentive - a new candle (which was requested), checking on meals again, more water, etc.
The menu layout is confusing when it comes to prices and this was not appreciated by my guest. the layout is inconsistent when it comes to prices and sizes (really look at your menu) and causes confusion to the patron.
Also, of note, the hostess assumed that this was my husband, when we are just dating. "Oh, your husband is already here". Don't assume anything, ever. Safer to say that your dinner companion is already at the table. I think this was said because of our ages, as I don't think this would have been said to me if I was in my 20's.
It was a long time since I have been here and was looking forward to this experience, but would only recommend this restaurant if you can go on a night when the noise level would be more acceptable to the audience. Putting baffles on your ceiling might help.
Overall, I would not come back in the near future, despite the awesome food and the wonderful "warm" temp of the environment. (I am usually cold in restaurants so this was a pleasant experience).
