   One of the best meals we’ve had in some time. We’ve been here before and we’re happy to see it’s still great - maybe even better - post-pandemic. Our entrées were black cod and rack of lamb. Both were cooked perfectly, and most impressive everything else accompanying the proteins was delicious and also perfectly cooked. Very attentive and informative service - the only reason for four stars rather than five was some long-ish waits between courses, likely still struggling to be fully staffed after the pandemic. We still consider Hobnob the best fine dining restaurant in NOTL (and we’ve been to a few😁)

   The Restaurant in the Charles Inn is a gem in NOTL. The food was plated beautifully and it was absolutely delicious! Our server Anna was outstanding in every way. Anna had great knowledge about the wine, the history of the Charles Inn and the region. We genuinely appreciated the first class service from Anna! I don’t know what I was thinking- I should have taken some photos! Both the room and cuisine looked wonderful!

   Food was sensational, we will be back. Mathew our waiter was great and service was perfect. It was our anniversary, but he brought some champagne right away which was exceptional as we had not ordered anything yet.

    I ordered the grilled cheese and carrot soup. Soup was boring. Grilled cheese was a slice of cheese on stale focaccia… also boring and definitely not worth the price. Not impressed by my meal. The ambiance was beautiful, however, and the service was great, friendly and prompt.

    What a wonderful family Christmas dinner at Hob Nob! Katelyn, our server, was perfect. Our standouts: butternut squash soup, foie gras, cod and cheesecake.

    My mom and I went to HOBNOB for Christmas Eve dinner 2022. We had a table for two by the fireplace. Lovely, cozy and festive ambience. Pretty decorations and Christmas tree! The food and beverages were delicious. We had the four course meal. Beautiful looking venue outside as well! Will be back! Thank you 😊

    Christmas dinner was a 3 course meal. The appetizers were exceptional in taste and design. The main dish was a usual design and taste and the dessert were pretty common and tasted like a store bought item. The treat with a ginger bread man was cute. Server was fantastic, engaging, welcoming, quick response and not to talkative

    The restaurant is beautiful. We were seated directly beside a fireplace which was perfect for a cold night. The staff were all fantastic. The food was delicious - the salad, the scallops, the salmon tartare, the beef tenderloin and the espresso martinis. Definitely a 5 star experience!

    Lovely restaurant, very pretty. Food good - staff wonderful. The staff know proper restaurant etiquette and service standards that are harder to find these days. One of the reasons this is one of our favourites.

    Very simple lunch, soup and grilled cheese. Soup was ok, but the sandwich was so basic, virtually anyone can do better. For an upscale place, this was ridiculous. No real options for a “nice” lunch. You’ll get better food at Tim Hortons. For 1/4 of the cost.

    We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. They were nice enough to bring us a complimentary glass of bubbly. The service was excellent. The dining room ambiance was lovely. We were next to the fireplace. Two issues….. My steak was over done. I asked for medium well, or whatever they called their steak with some pink in the middle, but it came very well done. I know sometimes it is hard to judge, but at $54 for a beef tenderloin, it should be perfect. The same steak on their online menu was $5.00 less. My husband asked for the seafood pasta, with no mussels. There were bits of mussels it it, and only one scallop. The online menu says made with tomato sauce, but it came with pesto sauce, and was not very hot. I emailed them last evening thanking them, and pointing out the menu discrepancies. Another time we would have sent the food back, but we just made the best of it to enjoy our special day.

    Not great, not terrible. Prompt, friendly greeting at door by reception and then by the waiter. Was seated in veranda area that has absolutely no ambience. Waiter was very personable and very attentive at the start. Pasta entrees were delivered luke warm. Waiter did not reappear for 10-15 minutes after that to check if everything was okay, by which time we had proceeded to start eating. Overall not up to standard of "fine dining" that it is positioned as. Will not return.
