   Excellent food and the portions are adequate sized. The veranda is absolutely beautiful. The only problem was the cocktails were a little on the weak side. Overall highly recommend for dinner.

   Our server Elizabeth was amazing. She was so attentive and made us feel special. Ambience was perfect We love tablecloths! They add a specialness. The food lacked a spark but definitely edible and good.

   Okay food with underwhelming service. First, we waited for 15 min to even be greeted by the 5-6 staff buzzing around the restaurant checkin desk that doubled-down as a checkin for the Inn. Second, every other aspect of the service was just okay at best: slow, lack of attention to detail, and overall passive. If this restaurant didn’t have a Four Star Diamond award, I would’ve given it a pass, but I found it to be one of the most unmemorable restaurants I’ve been to in recent memory — despite its very nice location.

    My husband and I had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. It was disappointing. The food was overpriced, overcooked and bland. Salt and pepper would go a long way. They totally missed the mark on the food. I got the cod. Description said crispy skin… it wasn’t. My husband got the rib eye. Although juicy it was bland. It needed salt. They need to train their chefs the basics. We had high hopes for this place but ended up having an underwhelming experience.

    Hobnob is a real gem in the Charles hotel We spent out first anniversary dinner there The presentation of the food and the tastes were amazing Kaitlin our waitress was spectacular Welcoming, friendly and on top of every detail You must eat here if you go to Niagara on the lake

    Had requested a quiet table location which was honoured. Our server was very professional and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the menu. The sommelier was also very knowledgeable helping us choose the wine. We chose the pickerel for dinner and because of my small appetite asked to share. There was no problem with that as sometimes it is frown upon. Perfectly cooked and delicious meal. Our dinner was one of the best in Niagara on the Lake.

    The Feature Menu offered two choices for each of the 3-course menu. Food and presentation were great. The only complaint I had was the Mixed Green Salad was just bland and so so.

    Located in the Charles Inn (at the end of Queen Street), HobNob restaurant has a wonderful, peaceful ambience and good food and service. The windows look out on the main street or the nearby golf course, and the service is excellent. It was quiet for lunch on the Friday that we went, before the theatre, but I expect that people are just beginning to come back after COVID and perhaps don't know that some of these restaurantes are open for lunch.

    Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our dinner and more especially, the preparation of the food. We had a vegetarian dish which was unappealing and tasteless. We also started off with a very limp salad. The black cod we chose was horrid, limp and totally tasteless. Its crispy skin (as stated in the menu) was like leather. As for the dessert, a small chocolate torte, the filling was not fresh . Our very obliging server (Matthew) was the only bright spot in this meal. In short, this was both our most expensive and worst dining experience in Niagara-On-The-Lake, a far cry from the reputation surrounding this establishment.

    We had a lovely dinner here with excellent service . The food was fantastic - quality and cooked to perfection. Ambience in the restaurant was cozy and beautiful. Perfect dining experience - I can’t say enough good things . Thankyou Hobnob!

    One of the best meals we’ve had in some time. We’ve been here before and we’re happy to see it’s still great - maybe even better - post-pandemic. Our entrées were black cod and rack of lamb. Both were cooked perfectly, and most impressive everything else accompanying the proteins was delicious and also perfectly cooked. Very attentive and informative service - the only reason for four stars rather than five was some long-ish waits between courses, likely still struggling to be fully staffed after the pandemic. We still consider Hobnob the best fine dining restaurant in NOTL (and we’ve been to a few😁)

    The Restaurant in the Charles Inn is a gem in NOTL. The food was plated beautifully and it was absolutely delicious! Our server Anna was outstanding in every way. Anna had great knowledge about the wine, the history of the Charles Inn and the region. We genuinely appreciated the first class service from Anna! I don’t know what I was thinking- I should have taken some photos! Both the room and cuisine looked wonderful!

    I ordered the grilled cheese and carrot soup. Soup was boring. Grilled cheese was a slice of cheese on stale focaccia… also boring and definitely not worth the price. Not impressed by my meal. The ambiance was beautiful, however, and the service was great, friendly and prompt.
