   We had 4course & 8course menu and was very excited.. all the waiters were very kind & helpful to explain abt each menus but the thing is taste was not so good. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone and it was just too pricey & taste was very poor than what we were expected. “Only thing we remember was avocado & green beans.”

   The AC was too cold with a vent above all of us in the party for the 1.5 hours we were there. Our waiter said it was central air and could not be adjusted.

   Was seated outside, as parties of 5 or more are generally seated on the veranda. Would’ve preferred inside seating w/air conditioner and restaurant ambiance. Requested but unable to accommodate my party of 6. Service was attentive and pleasant. Food was good but seemed a bit limited. Enjoyed the experience but plan to try other places before coming back again.

    So far the best brunch buffet in the island. Lisa our server was spot on, very personable, attentive and so easy to talk with. We had a table by the window so we could enjoy the sun and beach while we enjoyed our meal. The food especially the prime rib was delicious. The sashimi was so fresh and tempura was unlike any I I’ve tasted. The batter was nice and crunchy. My favorite dessert was the coconut tapioca.

    We Love the Kahala and Sunday Brunch is always a MUST! Tony was amazing! He kept the glasses filled, and ensured we had everything we need thru out the meal. My sister and her husband joined us and we celebrated our birthdays. It was perfect, we had the best table with the best view! Until next time!

    From the views to the service, and overall experience you can not go wrong with hokus if you’re looking for a true dinning “experience”. I would say, the shift to a tasting menu, not a big fan of but everything we had was amazing. It was more of a journey then just sitting down for a nice dinner. Our four course tasting lasted just under 3 hours. The service was amazing and their understanding of the menu was great. Everything we had was terrific, however the 48 hour short rib was incredibly fattening. That would be my only critique on the evening.

    The Tasting of Vegetables is well designed. The celery root is excellent with the orange and macadamia nuts. The pineapple “shave ice” is my favorite for the fresh taste and textures. The “porridge” doesn’t need truffles - but it also did not need the short curly hair I found in it next to the chayote shoots which visually just made me feel sick. Service had a gracious response and it was not their fault. Hopefully plating can be more thoroughly inspected prior to delivery so no other guests will have similar experiences in the future. We dined toward the end of the night but that does not excuse plating like that for a $200 tasting. It soiled the rest of the beauty that there could have been. I wish Hoku’s well and I know they can do better - if they choose to care to.

    Beautiful restaurant and outstanding cuisine. This restaurant is located at The Kahala Resort which is a classic luxury hotel located on the opposite side of Diamond Head from Waikiki. The resort is worth a visit even if you don’t dine or stay there.

    Buffet line isn’t the best, their big door makes it not user friendly for guests seated at the veranda… most of the staff are nice, our waiter was really nice but towards the end of his shift he was less attentive and more busy cleaning up other tables and didn’t want to help us take a family photo during mother’s day! Not sure what the problem is but yeah… very busy, food was good and lots of them were good however i wish there were more choices at the hot plate… i loved their roast pig, sashimi and sushi area, desserts, thin cakes, miso fish and the lobster… the snow crabs were either overcooked or old since the meats were sticking to the shell, lobster bisque smelled like the ocean, prime rib was overcooked even when i asked for medium rare side, my guest who does not eat pork or beef wondered if there was chicken but there was no chicken on the menu… overall it was an okay experience… i would give it a 4/5 overall! 😊

    Dinner and service Kurt, Tony, and the other gentleman were fabulous at Hoku’s. My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd Anniversary and Mother's Day. The four-course meal was elegant and delicious. Lots of kudos to the chefs in the kitchen; the food plating was exquisite, with bright colors and sauces. We will most likely dine at Hoku’s again.

    The $75 3-course option is very reasonable. Perhaps it was not available for earlier reviewers. I think that management may have responded to complaints that the 4-course option was a bit pricey, so kudos to them. A great experience with great service, great views and good food.

    Buffet was like any other buffet that i have gone to. They order lobster, crab legs and ahi music for you. They did have a different variety of food. Most favorite was the salmon eggs Benedict. They serve a variety of breakfast, seafood and desserts.

    Our family celebrated a very special occasion with Sunday brunch. There were a variety of food servings, and they were all delicious. The areas within the restaurant were clean, organized, and cozy which allowed for a very pleasant experience. The surrounding outdoor views were also nice. Our server (Ms. Reyne) was truly outstanding. Reyne was welcoming from the start and was pleasant throughout our stay. Reyne made our special occasion a meaningful experience.

    今回の予約では、ベランダ又はハイテーブルでしたが、満席のためホテルのロビーの二人掛けのテーブルが準備されておりそこへ案内されました。 いくらなんでも私たちのテーブルだけがホテルのロビーにありそこで食事をしろとはずいぶん対応が悪いと感じました。 席がないなら、予約を受けるべきではないと思います。 高級ホテルのメインレストランの対応とは思えない対応でした。

    Waiter (Jared) couldn't even keep track of our sparkling water. Our bottle was served to another table and came back to us asking if we wanted to purchase another. Jared was the main waiter, but not attentative at all. Had to second guess whether I was veing cheated for something I purchased. Not a mindset I want to have when dining at a fine dining restaurant. Tony took it off our bill when I finally confronted. If you must dine at Kahala Hotel, goto Aranchino. Final night dinner ruined with a feeling of uneasiness. Had much better experience there. Will not be returning nor recommend to others.

    The total experience was outstanding from the breathtaking ocean view, the service, the elegant ambience and delicious and beautifully presented 4 course meal. Our party was totally impressed. This is a great venue to celebrate a special occasion. The service is excellent from the moment you enter until you leave. It was a memorable evening that our guests thoroughly enjoyed.     Our meal at Hoku's was AMAZING! My wife and I went with the two different tasting menus, and we were not disappointed. Every dish was creative and delicious. Made use of local ingredients that gave us a tour of Hawaii. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Answered all of our questions and made it a special time. Could not recommend this restaurant any more highly. Probably a top 10 meal we have ever had. And the scenery only made it more perfect!

    It’s great to have the Sunday brunch back at Hoku’s, but there is definitely room for improvement. We enjoyed some of our Kahala favorites like the butterfish, crepes, prime rib, sashimi and bread pudding. Lobster was a nice addition, but served cold. The Dungeness crab was tasteless and watery. Hamachi sushi was a bit off color and quality was just okay. Selection seemed sparse and they need to add shrimp tempura to the menu. We all agreed the Friday night seafood buffet was a better choice.

    Wow. I would call this a true culinary experience of a Michelin Star quality. This is not to be missed by lovers of fine dining in Hawai'i. Each dish is thoughtfully plated with artisanal ingredients. The servers are able to speak to each detail of every dish, the exhibition kitchen is fascinating to watch, and the flow of the four-course menu is flawless. Did I mention the panoramic ocean view? I highly recommend experiencing a Hoku's meal for any special occasion or celebration.

    Elegant and attentive service. Hoku's is one of the romantic restaurants you will find in Honolulu with a beautiful ocean view. Compliment Chef Mizukami's creative menu, as he bring home his world talent from flavors around the globe. We ordered the Paris Menu and two other pre-fixed menu choices. The Paris Menu featured my favorite beef tartare; however the Gava Grow "petite lettuce" was an outstanding surprise. I never tasted such tasty lettuce before. Other highlighted delicious dishes were and highly recommend to try: the hand cut Moringa Tagliatelle with shaved black truffles, hand rolled sweet pea scarpinoc, grilled Miyazaki A-5 Wagyu, Pavlova- Lilikoi Granite, Crispy Meringue and Vanilla Custard. To end the dinner we ordered two types of aromatic herbal teas to compliment our desserts: a rich Ka'u chocolate Profiteroles with ice cream, warm pineapple upside-down cake, and Hoku's signature warm chocolate Coulant. Hoku's is a place to celebrate special occasion. You will not be disappoint with their service, ambiance, and food quality.
