Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

The lead in the kitchen was screaming at the staff the entire time we were sitting down. I was the absolutely most stressful experience to have with 2 of my dear friends. Tell this guy to SHUT up and speak to his employees at a normal volume and in a kinder way!!! Horrible client and employee experience. I LOVE Homer Cafe and live in the neighborhood-I will never sit downstairs in the kitchen area again
Service is always great. Sitting outside nice!! Little expensive but that’s OK
We were satisfied with everything except for the reservation system. Although I chose the outdoor seating option on the Open Table website, the hostess at the restaurant told me that they don't allow outdoor seating from online booking. I was confounded and showed a screenshot of the reservation with the outdoor seating preference in black and white. However, she insisted that the restaurant policy did not allow for online outdoor seating. We didn't want to make a scene and took the table inside the restaurant even though there is an ongoing pandemic and we want to keep as safe as possible. Overall, the food was great and our server was outstanding. Let's just hope none of us get infected with Covid-19.
Hello, I have to apologize for the confusion with your reservation seating. Our patio tables are not reservable online. We only seat our patio tables on a "first come - first serve" basis. We accept requests for the patio and let our guests know that if they are adamant on a patio table, that there may be a wait, but that we will honour their reservation with a table. There are many factors to our system, weather included. We were happy to hear that you enjoyed the balance of your dinner.
Delicious brunch, exuberant and friendly service and breezy ambiance. Topped off by mouth-watering rosé.
My partner and I enjoyed everything from the service to the awesome dinner, our ribs were the best we have ever tasted.
We have the best service today at lunch!
Shout out to Tom and to the bartender!!
The food was also fabulous!
I booked to go back next week!
Everything was excellent.
We sat outside on the main patio(not the street) and it was so lovely. The food and service is always so good. Definitely a top spot for Yaletown.
Four diners: we got the chicken fried mushrooms to start. Delicious, but the mushrooms were cut too small and a small dish for $15.
I ordered the gnocchi and the quinoa and Farro salad to share and I was still hungry. The gnocchi could be a bit more substantial - but it was delicious, light and fluffy. The salad was average. The Farro seemed fried/ puffed and it wasn't a huge part of the dish. Something needs to be added here. Perhaps roasted nuts and more cheese or something. Also quite a small portion for an $18 salad.
Half rack of ribs were ordered. Excellent all round meal. Meat fell off bone. Biscuit was amazing! Came with fries and a salad. All round really great, full meal.
Bistro filet was also ordered. Diner loved it.
Unfortunately, server forgot to tell us it was happy hour coming up. That would have been a good heads up to obtain a couple of deals, which are always fun.
I am a white wine lover and appreciate interesting wines. Wasn't crazy about their wine offerings. But, least of my worries.
Food is excellent in its presentation, flavor, and the mix of texture. Our server is friendly and attentive. A little pricier than what I usually pay for, but I selected it for the location and excellent reviews.
I asked to be seated at the bar when I made my booking and at first, on arrival, there was no space available but the wonderful host (I should have taken his name) arranged for 2 seats at the bar for me with minimal wait time.
Just another example of their exceptional, friendly service which is one of the reasons why I keep going back but more so, the overall experience leaves me wanting more of what they are offering - wonderful food, friendly and knowledgeable bar and wait staff and the ambience reminds me of being in a bistro in Paris.
This is an absolute gem in Vancouver!
The music was good but a bit too loud. It may have been the treble was too high but it was at times disruptive to hear the people I was with.
Our server was a really nice guy but obviously very new and I believe he was supposed to be being trained. It seems his superiors were happy to leave him to make mistakes and then quite loudly pull him up on it in earshot of the customers. He mistakenly ordered the starter and mains to come from the kitchen all at the same time. When we asked if the mains could be returned to the kitchen to be kept warm
Well it was in the middle of a crazy heat wave and there is no ac
good value for the money. wine and cocktail reasonably priced for all restaurant in the group
Very good night, thanks to the great staff and Manager William.
Amazing experience, this was a return visit (for us) with friends who we were hosting from out of town who had never been to the HSC, and everyone was impressed! Great night was had by all!
Service was great as usual. Roast chicken was very underwhelming compared to previous times we’ve ordered it. Surprised by that. Hesitate to order it again.
The rotisserie chicken was good but I find it overpriced a little. My friends ordered the special for the day/night, which was a pasta dish. The portion was small and tasted just ok. The service was good, although they kept on asking if we wanted to drink more after we declined multiple times. Good to try once.
Homer Street Cafe & Bar has excellent food and service.
One of our favourite places to dine. Be it on the patio, sitting at the bar or the window bench for 2!!
Service was excellent. All dishes tasty and presentable.
The food at the Homer Street Cafe was delicious - especially the house salad. Good choice of beers on tap and interesting wine list. Ambiance was fun ... perhaps a bit loud for us but overall friendly and helpful service.
Always happy: pampered, nourished, socialized.
Great staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Food great ribs, filet, oysters and Cali Cab Sav
I brought my friend for a birthday lunch and it was an exceptional experience as usual. The staff at Homer Street excel at providing the perfect level of service and the food is always impeccable. My favourite place!
Amazing as always, the service was exceptional, the ambiance was perfect and the food was delicious
Absolutely fantastic on every level. The pork belly is magical.
First time at the restaurant and food was just ok.
The price is too pricey for what it is and the portion is not big.
Service was ok but the food came almost for about 1 hour.
Not a big fan of the place who made excuses of taking longer to get the food to the table.
Always enjoy coming here.
Service was friendly and nice!
We came late so were only given the happy hour menu. The items were nice but It would be nice to see more vegetarian items added to the list.
Service was excellent. I only gave it 4 starts because the portion of gnocchi was a bit small but it was delicious.
I love coming to Homer St!! We always have a fab dining experience and the staff are absolutely wonderful and accommodating to all our needs!!
As always, your food is top notch. Our server, David, was awesome! He made our experience fun and memorable.
We had a great time!
My favourite spot in Vancouver to have cocktails and a bite!
The service is always outstanding and the drinks are exceptional. Thank you to the staff for always going above and beyond
Excellent food. Great service!
Definitely a gem in Vancouver! Happy hour was well priced abs drinks are great. Highly recommend.
Best rotisserie chicken ever.
Friendly service, great atmosphere too.
Lovely staff and excellent food! Restaurant is stunning too!
