Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

As usual a fantastic experience. They take their covid measures seriously and it makes for an even more enjoyable dining experience.
What a great night out! Our server, Dawn, made it an amazing night and was able to make some great recommendations for both food and drinks. Working with the bartender David, they came up with a unique drink for one of our fussy guests and she loved it. The kitchen staff did an amazing job and all of the food was delicious. We can’t wait to go back!
What a lovely brunch! great selection of buzzy drinks too, try the oat orange brandy and espresso cocktail! such unique flavor, really worked! the special truffle scramble was also divine :)
Thank you Amanda and teams for your great service, we shall definitely be back soon.
Service and food were fantastic!
Really good quality happy hour food and great vibes! Would come again. Service was fantastic too!
Staff were brilliant. Very attentive, polite and extremely knowledgable
Was all great and amazing food. Super friendly staff, will come back.
Always delicious and excellent service
Food, value and service were tops. Our only complaint was that the music was too loud, even after we asked it to be turned down and it was (a tiny bit).
Great service by the wait staff. Food was better than expected; top tier quality for its price point. The meal did take longer as food took a long time to come out but overall a food experience.
Great ambience for New Year’s Eve with great food! Will be back :)
Dawn is an amazing server. The food is great. The decor, music and energy is outstanding.
The food was amazing and everyone was friendly and kind!
The chilaquiles option was great :)
My second time in there and I love it!
Fabulous! We love Homer Street Cafe — tonight I tried their Bistro Filet which was superb! Their Cobb Salad is excellent too. Great service and ambience.
Lovely French bistro setting. We shared a whole rotisserie chicken. The gravy was missing a little pizazz, kudos on the chicken the greens salad and my oh my that biscuit.
Always good menu and food selection at Homer Street Cafe.
It was great.
Very warm and inviting. Great staff and food was delicious!
Awesome experience on patio! Staff and food superb! Music is a bit loud inside for ease of conversation.
Our favourite restaurant in Vancouver!
One of the best in Vancouver, honestly you won't ever regret coming here unless you hate beautiful food, and amazing friendly staff!
Service was great. Only concern was "still or sparkling"? The server brought us a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling. If you've been to this restaurant before, you would know they used to have a "soda stream" for the restaurant. We got our bill and they charged us $7 for sparkling water. The feedback i provided the server was, "perhaps advise people the cost of sparkling" upon ordering. Kindly, he removed it from the bill.
I was also a bit bummed by the lack of vegetarian/pescatarian options (or variety) on the menu. In the past, there have been some really awesome options. This visit, not so much. The fish dish was made with ham hock (the server mentioned there is an option to do without it) and only one vegetarian main - gnocchi. It was DELICIOUS. The depth of flavour obtained was excellent. I think there was only two appetizer options for a vegetarian.
I also ordered the Brussels sprouts for a bit of freshness on side. They were a bit heavy, but yummy.
I was also a bit bummed by the lack of variety on the white wine list. I prefer interesting whites but there were no options for my pallet.
As you can tell, I fancy myself a critic :) I will always return to this restaurant as it has always been consistent. Unfortunately, this time was a bit disappointing, menu wise for me.
Best experience in the city. Chef Tosh has been a truly incredible addition to this establishment. We will be back again and again!
Always excellent service and delicious food so keep going back
We had a lovely Sunday brunch at Homer St Cafe. It was perfect - food and service was amazing! I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Amazing experience! Hidden gem in vancouver! Food was amazing, service next level, great environment and music! We will be back!
Such warm welcome and attentive service from David, made our experience extra special. We have tried the chicken liver parfait which was delicious. My friend had their signature Burger - to die for! and I had the mussels - mmm they were so juicy and flavorful! Kudos to the the kitchen team, nailed it on all fronts!
Nice and cosy spot, with a family feel, staff was really friendly and personable.
Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
Overall experience is just average. Not a place I would go out of my way to eat at. Another average and non-creative menu.
The brunch was delicious! We shared the bug breakfast and the burger.
We had an awesome experience. Our waiter David was outstanding! Everyone we dealt with in the restaurant was great.
Always consistently good. Delicious food and excellent service. We keep going back :)
Pitchers of mimosa... Enough said 😍
Caesar, ling cod and butter tart were stellar. They didn't give me a complimentary birthday dessert even though I have brought 12 people 2 tables of 6 regularly for happy hour.
Widest mussle in my life, doesn’t worth the price
Very good food and atmosphere. Very cute place to go for brunch.
Celebrating our daughter’s engagement and felt the ambiance was fitting-lively and fun. Overall the food was okay but I ordered the special, a bolognese pasta, which was served lukewarm and in my opinion, a little greasy and uninspired. My daughter’s pasta was also lukewarm but the taste was good. Small portions for both. I think everyone else enjoyed their meal, no one said one way or the other.
Great waitress. My fave. Aussie accent. Delightful and attentive with the added bonus of serving us great food.
Excellent service from start to finish. Our server was knowledgeable and very attentive. Food was outstanding!
Wow, most of the reviews talk about the excellent, "attentive" service, but what they fail to mention is the aggressive up-selling.. every time the server checked in with us, it was another glass, another appie, etc.. EVERY DAMN time... at some point, wouldn't you think that "okay, this couple just wants dinner and then its a quick cover and the table is turned. it's not like we were super demanding (at all) and were trying to have some "us" time...
food was very tasty - wine was delish, our blonde English server just needs a wee bit o' coaching...
Had a lovely 45th wedding anniversary. Our server was fantastic; even special treats as well as terrific food. Wonderful time was had by all. Thanks so much.
Did not feel we got good value. Food was mediocre for what we paid. Would not come back again
