Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.
Incredible service and cocktails. Food was quite good but a bit overpriced for the offering. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended.
Well done as usual - one of my favorite spots
Been to Homer Street multiple times and have never been disappointed. The service and the food are always wonderful. Great atmosphere as well.
Made a reservation and requested outdoor seating but was told they could not guarantee an outside table. We showed up 10-15 mins early to try and secure an outside table. Staff was very accommodating and did everything to seat us safely and in a timely manner. Our server and others were all exceptional. Value was ok but pricing is a bit high - mashed potatoes for $12 seems excessive. Food tasted wonderful
I've been there several times so far, always had very good experience.
Love everything about this place. Never disappoints!
We had all the specials and they were excellent. Pork with farro risotto, squid caesar salad and warm caramel bread pudding. Very comfortable and calm on the patio. Service was always pleasant and courteous though one server seemed a little awkward delivering cocktails and dishes -maybe a little more practice? A lovely and delicious evening overall .
Love this spot for lunch. I go on a regular basis!
I love everything about Homer Street Grill! The food is outstanding and everyone is very nice!!
Great food, even better cocktails, and the best service in the city.
Always great. Emily was awesome. Always great cocktails and service.
Forest food and service; a little loud though
Always love being there. If I lived downtown I would be there a lot more!
Amazing service! Some really unique and great seasonal food! Celebrated my birthday here and wasn’t disappointed! Thanks for great service and recommendations!
Great first experience!
First time and will be back again. The host that welcomed us was so inviting and great. Awesome start to a great brunch.
Only thing we would like is more options than pork. We don’t eat pork. One of us ordered the big breakfast and after the change to chicken the big breakfast wasn’t so big but either way. Awesome menu options and amazing staff :)
Our first time there and we were welcomed with a glass of bubbly. Service was excellent. We will be back!
Went great overall, my only caveat was the noise levels from the street / being so near the kitchen that we heard everything.
9.99/10 and we will be back.
Great service. Delicious food. Will be coming back!
I had the Cobb salad. It was disgusting. Wet and tasteless chicken that would not even fill a tablespoon.
It doesn't matter what you pick on this menu because literally everything is fantastic.
The pork belly is particularly excellent if you need a recommendation.
Always reliable and delicious! Excellent service too and amazing coffee.
Our first meal out since the whole COVID situation started in March and the Homer Street Cafe did not disappoint. While it was unfortunate that the rotisserie was having an issue that day the meal was still excellent and the service was as well. Should have shared the dessert but I got to enjoy the remainders the next day. A very pleasant surprise to have a complimentary sparking wine precede our meal but that set the tone for the evening. I strongly recommend both this and its sister restaurant, Le Tableau (still closed at the moment) for anyone looking for a casual dinner out.
Food was tasty, although portion sizes were quite small for brunch considering the price. I think there were a total of 4 hashbrowns on my plate. Our server was friendly, but the service slow. Overall a good experience.
There was a huge delay in drinks and food. Waited about ~20 min for coffee and ~40 minutes for brunch food. But everything was delicious and owner apologized.
Ambience is really the best here! Food was nothing special, but overall we had a nice evening.
Homer street cafe is our lovely neighbourhood night out. The cocktails inventive and the food consistently good and fresh. We miss the larger menu but like that some regular staples and a fresh sheet available. Their covid plan is solid. We felt comfortable. Try the s’mores cheesecake and peanut butter cookies with Nutella.
Maple Pork appetizer is a must, service was kinda meh, but these are strange days...🙃
We came here for my fiancé's birthday as he saw their pork dishes and was interested in trying something new. Right off the bat the waiter told us we didn't have a reservation, luckily a more helpful and friendly waiter/manager(?) corrected him quickly as he had missed it. After having picked what we wanted, we were rudely told that we weren't allowed to order from the main menu, because it was brunch --despite there being a QR code on the menu telling us to use that to access the main menu.. Waiter seemed very elitist and condescending. Disappointing because we weren't interested in having brunch at 2pm. Later heard him making special accommodations for some white lady who wanted something not on the brunch menu. We are visible minorities, so i do wonder..
Food was extremely bland and unimpressive. Will not be back.
Good was amazing. The biscuits and butter are to die for
The staff were great!
We had a nice brunch for my wife’s birthday.
The food was great, eggs Benedict cooked perfectly.
Definitely will come here again.
Consistently excellent - great food and staff... but I missed the coleslaw.
I guess it could be a one off Covid issue. Brunch wasn’t that great. The food was tabled cold. The service was very slow. My medium poached Benny was so cold I ate like a salad. Also we asked in our reservation for a table outside due to Covid but where ignored. Then they proceeded to sit us next to a larger party regardless of our concerns. We where starving by that point and it was to late to make alternative plans. We had to eat adjusting our face masks between bites. I would wait till Covid is over to here.
The food was good. Our server Emily was terrific! She made the experience even that much better. The new outdoor seating on the street is very spacious. It's interesting to sit on the street and watch the cars and pedestrians go by.
The chicken, with the new biscuits and new potatoes, really stepped it up. Outstanding
Loved the patio tonight, service was top notch and felt comfortable that proper precautions were in place to keep everyone distanced and safe. Thanks Homer Street Cafe, the good was delicious and we will for sure be back again!
