Real great food
First time there and I was surprised at how chic it is inside. Reminded me of an authentic French bistro. The menu was interesting... the smells and the food were very yummy. The service was excellent and the value was terrific! We'll be back.
Food was great. Only gripe is, having informed the restaurant that we were celebrating an 80th birthday, and having asked them to make a bit of a fuss about this lovely older guy, nary a fuss was made. They did put a candle in his dessert, but that was it. Also, we had to stand and wait for 15 minutes and not because we were late. We were a bit early. I thought that given the age of the star guest, we could have been seated immediately. It was a 5pm res. and the place was mostly empty.
Amazing Restaurant, one of the best in Vancouver . Will be back again for sure!!!!!
The food was great and our server was exceptional. Looking forward to dining here again!
Great place for brunch! Highly recommend the orange ricotta fritters!
Unfortunately it was unusually noisy with a table of 6-8 loud patrons next to us. When they left they were replaced by another equally loud group! We realize that there is no way for the restaurant to control this however it made it difficult to visit with our friends and partially ruined the ambiance that we love.
The staff and food was fantastic. Highly recommend Homer St Cafe.
Fantastic service on the patio for happy hour! Booked a last minute group reservation to surprise a friend on his birthday. Staff were happy to accommodate us, and treated us like royalty. Amazing chicken and burgers!
Great food. Great service. Great coffee. Always stop by for brunch when I'm in Vancouver.
Great service. Food was fabulous. I've always come back with friends and never a disappointment.
Was the last night to get together with a long time friend before he moved to Toronto. The servers were lovely and the food was tasty. Always a special treat to go to Homer Street.
We came for an early Easter dinner celebration. Had the Sole fillet and their famous rotisserie chicken. It was very good. The sole fillet was just ok, planned to have the Halibut BUT the actual menu did not have this anymore. Anyway certain items on the On line menu is different from the actual. Place was stuffy and it was a Saturday night, was crowded. Tables layout was quite close to each other so can/may be feeling congested. Had two soft cocktails, were very refreshing, did not order dessert as nothing special. Just chocolate pudding, peanut butter pie, tiramisu, did not have the lemon Curb as stated on the on line menu so we gave dessert amiss.
The daily fresh sheet/special were sold out so couldn't get to taste them. Overall a good dining place as many option available.
Service was good, not great. Food was excellent. Nice ambiance!
Not a great brunch experience:
Long wait for a table even with a lunch reservation that we were on time for.
Two of the five dishes ordered arrived either cold or Luke warm (quickly resolved, and with fresh eggs).
Nice room but the music is so loud.
Quality of espresso is disappointing.
We booked a table for 6, before a show on Granville street - and asked to be in and out in an hour. The team at Homer Street was great! Beautiful spot, delicious food, knowledgeable team - and we were all wrapped up in an hour. Will definitely return when we have more time to enjoy!
Eric was so nice and knowledgeable! Will come back with large group and sit on patio.
Great dinner before the symphony. I was impressed by the quality of food/presentation and service. Will be coming again!
Great food in a beautiful setting. Bravo. We hadn’t thought about the Homer for brunch, but we’re glad we did. Brunch menu is not extensive, but everything they do have is great. Would recommend it to anyone.
Great spot for a friends get together. Did not get to try the chicken as the server recommended the daily special. Meat was cooked well and just a tad bit under, but understandable as the window of perfectly cooked and still juicy is very small. Flavor wise the appitizers was good, the rotisserie pork rib was on the bland side and needed much extra sauce. Desert was decent by the books, and can benefit from having a more sophisticated touch.
Chicken skins were the only disappointment everything else was fantastic. Skins were oily and too salty.
Great food!! Must have the Maple Pork belly for sure. Service was awesome and it was hard to decide what to even have. Must try!
Usually enjoy going to Homer Street Cafe; however, this time, felt the food was way too salty.
Cool place! Absolutely worth to visit again.
Tested a bunch of things - chicken skin (a bit salty but we at them all!), Pork Belly (soooo good), bacalahaus (spelled that wrong I know, great), split the pork roast dinner (excellent), peanut butter cookies /nutella dip for dessert and a few cocktails. Everything was great, servers were awesome. Will def be back! Server even split all the food items on our bill, which was a nice touch (i.e. we each got charged for 1/2 all the above).
The Homer Street Cafe is a real gem. Prices are reasonable and the food is very good. I love the daily fresh sheeet but if nothing catches ones eye, the roast chicken is always great.
I also like the fact that reservations are very well honoured with little wait time.
We were a group but the wait staff his the fact that the tip was already included. Just before I paid I asked and she didn't answer. We go to many restaurants. Half of them trick us and we double tip. In fact some of our group doubled tipped. Not ethical in a high class restaurant. Shame on you. I hope that you do something about your 2 unethical waitresses. I plan to have another get together in the summer on the patio. I hope your wait staff find some ethics between now and then.
Great service and great food. Will definitely be back.
One of my fav restos in Vancouver and it never disappoints!
My family and I love this place. We keep coming back for a special occasion. Food, drinks and service are always excellent!!!
Always enjoy this spot and the food is usually great.
Always perfect. Would give Homer Cafe 10 Stars every time
I have been to the Homer St Cafe a few times and if you can believe it, have never tried the rotisserie chicken. On my last visit I ordered it, and devoured it - I have never tasted chicken this good. I wish I lived closer as I would be eating there at least once a week.
Absolutely fantastic place to eat!
My wife and I love this restaurant. Always good service and creative, delicious food. Great to have a restaurant nearby we can count on for good food and ambiance. Exceptional.
Really tasty food; great variety in the menu; lots of tasty options to choose from; great service and cool decor and ambiance. They have a feature roast that changes regularly so there's always the option of something new. I'd go again!
The main course food was great; although the selection is limited. This is a meat lover's restaurant. Service a bit slow but that is better than hovering; the cost of a cup of coffee (and a second as they don't give refills) was exorbitant, and the dessert was not the greatest. They also didn't do anything for our birthdays, even though I stated it as a special occasion on the reservation - and we were sitting next to someone who a got the candle in a tart. I'd go there again, but armed this my memories.
One of the many restaurants that now overcharge for their small amount of wine that at best is average.
Notable how every staff member we met thanked us for our visit on the way to the door...very good manners, well done!
Everything was super fabulous! Our server was especially wonderful. :)
