About Homer Street Cafe & Bar
LOCALLY MINDED. RESPONSIBLY RAISED
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

Homer Street Cafe & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Smoky close to the kitchen. Hostess said fully booked for the night when there are lots of spots available on open table. Food came quite slow comparing to previous visits, considering it's a Saturday night. Probably will only come back for lunch time.
Roasted chicken was superb! The server went out of her way! The highlight of the evening was the featured dessert - ricotta lemon flavoured custard in a caramel sauce! Made my day!!! Bravo, chef and the whole team!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😊
Three of us ordered off the daily specials' sheet. I was surprised when our order came because it was completely different from how it was described on the sheet. Luckily, I have no dietary restrictions, so it was fine, just a little disappointing.
We had a great breakfast of steak and eggs and orange ricotta fritters. I expected more of a pancake than a donut. Great dining space and like the ease of booking on open table.
Excellent in every respect. Service and the food all done well.
Our New Year’s Eve experience could not have been better at Homer St Cafe and Bar. Our server was gracious and gave us excellent recommendations. The cocktails were on point and the food was delicious. The rotisserie lamb was the BEST I’ve ever tasted. My husband loved his rotisserie chicken. This is a great spot we’ll return to!
Everything that we ordered was fantastic! Try the chicken skin and the pork belly!! Service was fabulous as was the drinks in a really cool atmosphere!
The food was incredible. We had an amazing time. Will definitely be back!
We've been here a couple of times and both have been lovely. Super friendly staff and amazing food. It's a bit higher on our budget so we only go for special occasions but it's perfect for that!
Roast chicken was fabulous!! The write ups have not been wrong. And the other items for our group (scallops, pork loin) were equally impressive. Do try the cauliflower side. It comes close to supplanting Vij's as my favourite way.
Good cocktail list. Reasonably priced wines. All in all quite successful. We'll be back.
Food was good but a little pricey. Nothing bad it was all right.
Wow. The food was the highlight. Everything we had was delicious to the max. I had the wild boar pasta, great.
Delicious meal and great friendly service. Made a point of saving room for dessert and we were certainly not disappointed!! Loved our meal.
Amazing food and cocktails, fun and relaxed atmosphere, always a good spot for dinner 🍗🍗🍗
Cute place for lunch. Not that busy when we were there at 1pm, so it was nice. Good selection of food. The pappardelle was really good!
Food was surprisingly good. Will come back soon. The only issue I had was the ventilation - restaurant was quite smoky. But I will come back for the pork belly and duck. I’m already craving it
There were four of us. We ordered 2 snacks, 1 appetizer and 3 mains to share and a dessert. This worked well and was more than enough food. The food was very good. Particularly the pork belly and the beef cheeks. Service was a bit spotty. Waitress told us three times she would bring bread before she actually brought some and disappeared to dry dishes towards the end of the meal when we were trying to get her attention. You can actually see a washing serving station from a number of the tables; not the greatest. The restaurant is also very noisy so not for a quiet, romantic evening. Having said that the food was so good I would go back again.
Great evening. The food was sublime, truly delicious! I would definitely go back and recommend to others. Was a lovely treat for my boyfriends birthday dinner.
Great lunch! Will definitely be back for a meal again soon.
Food was great. Service good, but the restaurant is very noisy.
Love HSC. It’s a go to favourite of ours. However the music seemed super loud on this night and we found ourselves having to shout.
Lovely ambience, mostly went because I thought the design of the place, right down to the chef's aprons, was top notch and it feels like you might be in New York or Chicago. Food was good, (pork loin a little tough) and I'd go back again and again !
It was a terrific evening with all aspects of the meal in harmony; food, service, atmosphere.
One of our favorite restaurants. Great food, service and ambience!
The Homer Street Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants. The chicken is superb. Any of the entrees are excellent. My wife and I always look forward to our dining experience at this cozy , friendly spot. We love the food. We enjoy the ambience. I always thoroughly enjoy the dark beer with my dinner when we come here and my wife enjoys a glass of dry red or dry white wine with her dinner.
Fantastic evening. From cocktails through to dessert, a flawless meal. Our server, Brittany, was a true professional and guided us through the menu and wine list to great selections. We’ll be back soon.
I love the way this restaurant is laid out. They have divided the space in a way that is very conducive to good conversation, good food and wine. In all a delicious experience.
Rotisserie chicken at its finest. Great spot in downtown.
Such a great experience! Great playlist, kind, friendly service, very hospitable, the best mimosas in town, and delicious cuisine. Love this place for a group brunch.
Server was excellent and attentive and made great recommendations. the food was excellent
This place was recommended to us by a friend. I made a reservation and surprised my husband. The decor, ambiance, seating and staff were all impressive and the food was great. Will definitely be back.
The food was well prepared and the menu thoughtful, good ingredients. The kitchen knows its skills and produce. Excellent value for money and and really cool space to hang out.
Now the problem: service was ok, but inconsistent. First course came instantly, actually before the drinks, then we waited, waited and waited, for the second. The server offered no explanation, apology, or an offer to see what the delay was. But were asked if we wanted more drinks! So, the front needs to match the good work of the kitchen in consistency and quality.
Glad you are back!
Really cool ambiance and vibe. Attentive and fast service, despite of being packed on Saturday night. Delicious, juicy, done-just-right chicken, possibly the best I've had locally (and I tend to only buy from organic free-range local farms). The noise level was high, which would not make it the best spot for a first date (unless you don't mind yelling at each other from across the table). All in all, a definite thumbs up! Will be back again to try more things off their rotisserie menu.
Homer St Cafe is absolutely amazing; the service is top notch, the food is timely and delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. They play the greatest music and I've always had a great experience. The manager checked in on us to make sure everything was perfect and the attention to detail is unequaled. The perfect spot for a date night, a catch-up drink or a casual dinner to catch up with friends. Highly recommend, will definitely be going back!
Amazing in every way!
Attentive service. Reminded us of dining in New City. Easy place for smaller groups We were a table of 8 for our group. We would come back if just the two of us or with another couple.
My husband and I ate at Homer Street Cafe before going to a show. The atmosphere was fantastic: we loved the vibe and the interior. A very beautiful building! Our server was very attentive and ensured we always had everything we needed and that we were happy with our meals.
The food was perfect and decent sized portions! We ordered more than was necessary.
Our Caesar cocktails were delicious! Not made with Clamato juice.
