It is always a pleasure to dine at the Hooded Merganser. The food is delicious, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the wine list. The view is spectacular and creates a wonderful ambiance within the restaurant. Prices are comparable with all other restaurants.

The location and building are great. Is there a chef onboard? Food was not memorable. The Caprese Salad was uninspired. Lessons could be learned from the Naramata Inn Caprese Salad just down the shoreline. I would recommend this location for the architecture and view.

The food was fantastic and location was beautiful and convenient. We had a quiet evening but it could be crowded and noisy with more people. Service was friendly but there was a long delay getting the main course. I would recommend the place and would go back again.

This restaurant is always worth it just for the view, year-round! This time it was a beautiful late summers early evening and you can see right up the lake to Peachland. We were with UK vegan guests who loved the meal and were very happy they could be accommodated with jackfruit pizza and tacos. It was busy and there was a slight wait for meal service but not excessive and our server was friendly and apologetic. Overall another great meal with a view!

The service was great, and the location is stunning on the lake, but the food was a mixed bag. The appetizers (caesar salad) was good, (beef carpaccio, caprese Salad) excellent. The steak main course (8 oz sirloin) was overcooked, as were the accompanying veg and potatoes. The flavour was nice. Our cheesecake dessert cup was bland and we didn't finish it - but, they did willingly take it off the bill without being asked. Overall, I'd go back for another try.

Sitting in the booth made for a very quiet, relaxing personal experience. Watching the sun set was spectacular. Steve was very friendly but gave us our space. Very nice balance. Thank you for a wonderful Anniversary.

They were very slow seating us for our reservation, 15 minutes late. Once seated it took another 15 minutes for our server to arrive. We ordered drinks, which then took another 45 minutes to arrive, one of the two were incorrect. We ordered food, which came out within 5 minutes, one order was completely wrong, then other was cold. (Clearly not cooked to order). The incorrect drink was still not obtained. Our server was very polite and apologetic, she tried to get the manager, but they would not come out to speak with us. We then got up and left after not seeing anyone for another 10 minutes. We were not the only table to left after slow or non existent service and incorrect food/drinks. Great view, very poor service. Would not recommend unless a management change occurs.

We sat down on a concert night. We ordered right away. Took 35 mins to get our first drink and when it arrived it was not made right and horrible. We sent that back and asked for a glass of wine instead. After an hour of being there, we still had no drinks on the table, no food so we left and went somewhere else. Service was horrible. If they are understaffed they should limit seating to the capacity they can handled. Unacceptable.

It was a very busy night that they weren't prepared for, with the Bryan Adam's concert. Service was slow, food took forever as we had told them we were NOT going to the concert. Reservation was at 6, we were not finished eating at 8:30. Drink service was also very slow

Less than a third full & still took an hour for a plate of pasta & a burger. Server never checked in with us and couldn’t have cared less. Seafood pasta was inedible- too much garlic- it was overwhelming & the pieces of fish were cold. Burger ok but had to wait longer for the fries. Again, server didn’t care when we let her know & had the nerve to ask if we wanted to take our uneaten food home. We have been there several times before & it had been a nice place. I’m appalled at the food but more so at the poor service. Paid our bill and left. What a waste of money.

Our server was very nice, but she was clearly overworked. I'm not sure if there was a staff shortage, but we waited 7 or 8 minutes at the hostess stand before anyone was available to seat us (and two other groups). Food was average, and I had the worlds smallest margarita (tiny glass and all ice). Very disappointing as we had a wonderful dinner there last year.

Our waiter, Shane, was attentive, informative and helpful,(he took a photo of my wife and I on our 45th anniversary), The Calamari was excellent and unique in flavour, as was the Seafood Pappardella and the Prawn dinner. We had a patio table overlooking the lake; just gorgeous. The music was loud enough to hear but still enjoy a quiet conversation.

Our Hostess that greeted us was very sweet and made sure we had the perfect table. Our waiter, Shane served us with a smile and was attentive and gave us old folks time. His suggestion were on spot with even a photo of the 12 ounce steak special! We took first time guests to The Hood and they were also very impressed.

Food quality was not at the price point level would indicate. We waited 40 mins for our drink order and decided to skip the wait and order everything at once so we weren’t sitting there with nothing for hours.

There is no signage where to park, we ended parking in the parking garage.. It was very loud, considering it wasn’t very busy. Food was ok, not much food for the price. My husband got the 6 oz tenderloin and he got one scoop of mashed potato 2 over cooked carrots 1 sliver of zucchini, a pepper and one green bean. Needless to say he was still hungry. Staff very friendly, but slow service. Over all it was an average restaurant with 5 star pricing. Just our opinion.

Servers and staff were excellent ... We both ordered ribs and they were tough and dry (or overcooked). Portion of cream potatoes was disappointingly small although they were very tasty. For this class of restaurant we expected food to be of much better quality ... too bad.

Food was totally bland and forgettable. We had the seafood pasta and tuna poke bowl - very disappointing and both quite tasteless. Ambiance however, was amazing view was awesome and our server was great! I would go again but order differently and say something if not fully satisfied.

Our server was fantastic. I don’t recall her name but she was friendly and very attentive. Food was good for most part but shrimp tacos we very over cooked and cold in texture so only 4 stars this time. But calamari was epic as usual.

Confusion at the check in desk even though we had a reservation. We were put at a table that chairs touched the chairs at the next table on both sides yet there was a lot of empty tables. Our waitress was excellent & the food delicious!
