Sunday Brunch: 11:00am - 2:00pm
Dinner: Sunday - Saturday: 5:00pm
Long time waiting for server in between courses. Lack of service after entrees were provided. Too bad. We had best table in the house. But not great service overall.
We enjoyed the seafood for two very much! The dessert we ordered was also very impressive. Great service! Recommended to friends.
I have been at this restaurant before and I had mixed experiences.
However, this time I was really impressed by the quality of food!
Outstanding service from all staff, great food, wonderful venue and location! Staff went out of their way to be accommodating.
Really good service and very friendly staff. Their Wild BC Salmon dish was incredible!
We went on a thursday night around 7. There was lots of seating and we never felt "forgotten" once we sat down. Definitely recommend for a night out.
There's great views of the mountains and Burrard Inlet. Depending on when you go, the park around the restaurant may be busier with tourists or kids at play. For us it had no affect on our night and we enjoyed going for a stroll after dinner.
Amazing view and beautiful gardens. Come early to have some time to enjoy. Food and service were great.
Great time overall, the food I feel could have been higher quality considering the price. The menu was also pretty limited. Other then that it was great
Excellent service. The food is excellent too - on the upper end of the scale for quality and presentation. The range of choices could be a bit wider though. And of course, the view is what sets Horizons apart.
The food could have been a little hotter to the table and since we came in late the staff couldn't wait for us to get out so they could close the restaurant and it wasn't even late although it was a Sunday.
Father's Day celebration
Pretty nice first time at horizons. Habib, our server was great!
The view is amazing, but this restaurant progressively is going downhill.
Stomach did not feel well after my meal. It was my first meal that day so it can only mean that the food was not fresh.
We have asked for a window seat and then the hostess pointed out to a table that was closed to the reception area. She told us that was the last window table. However, when we were seated to an opened area, there was another window table opened but she did not offered to us. The food was ok. All have been slitting under the lamp for awhile. The meat and my veggies were dry. My husband’s rice was not cooked through. Appetizer was good though. Waiter did not check on us or ask us how was the food. He said it looks good. We have been to Horizon before and this time was a big disappointment for our family.
Service was great as always! Menu options have become limited. My teenage daughter and her elder sister would have enjoyed a pasta option but nothing was available.
The elk carpaccio was good but not as good as the previous bison carpaccio.
The rack of lamb was also good but not great, it lacked a little something I couldn’t place my finger on it.
Our server was excellent, brought my father in law a desert for his birthday and my wife and myself a little sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary after the meal and desert.
When asked during booking, we confirmed that this was an anniversary celebration. Sorry that the message was not passed on so that restaurant staff could mention or acknowledge this in any way.
Server was polite but rather bored/indifferent with each interaction... like being waited on by a man who REALLY wanted to be ANYWHERE else but there.
We were also disappointed that outdoor seating was not available on such a beautiful evening.
On the brighter side, the milk brine / rhubarb / bacon / green cabbage / charred apple butter vegetables offered with the pork chop were EXCELLENT! What an interesting blend of flavours!
The view from the window was remarkable as well.
Highly recommend to take your out-of-town guests for either lunch or dinner. As well as the opportunity for a family and friends for a special occasion. Food is good- hats off to the chefs. And the view .. one of the best in the greater Vancouver region has to offer.
Service was awesome, as always, and food was yummy!
Restaurant was most accommodating in dealing with my wife's garlic allergy. The best of any restaurant where we have eaten in dealing with this matter. Service was excellent.
Menu a bit limited. Food and service were very good. It was not too busy, so easy to have a quiet conversation.
My dad and I have been here twice for his birthday and thoroughly enjoyed both times. I had the flat ironed steak with chimichuri sauce and my only complaint is that it was just slightly warm, likewise with the mashed potatoes it was on, could have been warmer. Otherwise it was cooked to my liking and very delicious.
A wonderful place to sit back, relax and enjoy a million dollar view while in a site that is welcoming, has great staff and food that is always above average but often outstanding.
tHE PRICES ARE A BIT HIGH. EVERYTHHING ELSE WAS GREAT.
Absolutely Loved the fresh Halibut with both “fresh fiddle-head greens and morel * mushrooms”. My hat’s off to the chef! Outstanding— our guests loved it AND the service by veteran Habib* was also wonderful. Suggest you beg to be seated in his section. When you get BOTH great food / service along with a spectacular view, it really doesn’t get any better. 👍 Darrell & Janice FRICK.
Excellent location, good food, nicely presented by a professional server. Thank you Habbeeb for your attentive service.
THis isn’t actually a review.... just wanted to say that I had the seafood crepes and found the sauce extremely bland. Needed lemon, wine, dill, something to give it some life. Lots of nice seafood which was tasty. Overall, we enjoyed our family get-together and everyone seemed to like their meals. Will come back again for sure.
From the view to the very tasty dishes and friendly service, everything was excellent! Especially loved the moist, flavourful lamb chops and the delightful blackcurrant mousse bombe.
Excellent food and good service. The location on Burnaby Mountain can’t be beat.
We had an enjoyable evening with good food, pleasant service, interesting view and an atmosphere conducive to quiet conversation.
The food was bland, the service was poor and unprofessional. For the price of the food I would expect the presentation of the dishes to reflect it. The escargot was laid out messily and the main dishes looked like something that came out milestones. My ribeye was cooked well done when I asked for it to be medium. The service was sloppy but the staff were kind. I would not recommend this restaurant let alone rate it more than 2/5 stars. Definitely was not worth $200 for a dinner for two.
I ordered lamb and I asked for it well done when it comes to my table and I take a bite of it it’s bleeding it was cooked properly after that I wasn’t into my food no more
The food was well prepared and the portions were good. Took some thought to decide on one of several appealing choices. Very, very nice to be served in the traditional style with a mature, informed, professional waiter with a busboy. What a surprise, servers that knew who got which plates instead of being asked and we never did learn our waiters' name. No introduction, no family history, thank goodness. Those who had mixed cocktails were very impressed. Fantastic location and view. Prices as expected due to food quality, service excellence and a view that never gets old. Very enjoyable evening. Good value for the money. Thanks to Horizons that made me look good for choosing it.
Gorgeous view, good prices and very good service
Food was quite good as well
It's a neighborhood gem in Burnaby
Restaurant web site dinner menu are not available at the restaurant which is false advertising and misleading. Was told by waiter the special items menu is not available for the month of May. The food quality is ordinary and over-priced. Service is good. I guess you pay for the scenic view.
I hate giving bad reviews but I love this place and it needs to improve. The food taste was tolerable but far from good and presentation was also very poor.
A real shame, this restaurant should be so much better, it has amazing views and offers great space. But the chefs are not talented at all, I know home cooks who are way better. The staff were nice and the ambiance was good... the food just didn’t reflect this or the prices.
This is a great restaurant. The food is very high quality and so is the service. They do go out of their way to please their customers. Every time I have gone to this place whether for a special occasion, or just for dining or lunch, or even Sunday Brunch, the experience has always been one to remember with pleasant thoughts. I highly recommend this place. It is a bit expensive but then again, you do get the high quality you pay for. Worth it!!
The food and service at this venue has always been excellent. The sunshine and clear skies made for spectacular views and this was a bonus. A small confusion about the billing of a menu item was cleared up quickly and with good humour.
Our experience was amazing the view the food and service were all great better than expected would defiantly make it our regular dine out spot over the keg from now on. Easy to make reservation and super accommodating for special occasions.
We quite enjoyed our appetizer to dessert but the waitress or water delivery came a bit too often. Conversation was cut short on more than one occasion and if it wasn't this we felt some what rushed to have dinner and dessert immediately following each other. My suggestion would be to watch the engaged table conversation of guests and keep the interruptionsto minimal so that guests can enjoy the evening!
Overall, it was okay. Service was okay, food was decent but nothing overly exciting. Complete lack of vegetarian options. Would go again for the view but don’t expect much in terms of food or service.
