Loved the live jazz band! Did quality was excellent. Waitress was attentive and brilliant. Bathrooms were clean. Brilliant experience!
Great service, our waitress was very helpful and attentive to our needs.
Great location and a big restaurant. Food was tasty and staff were attentive. Nice spot for a casual lunch. Wish they had brunch on the weekdays but not enough demand probably - so they only have it on the weekend.
I had the large jambalaya and it was yummy! The tiramisu is also delicious.
The food was great, this was a pre-concert meal and was perfect location.
We love the Hothouse! Food and service are always good. Great choices on the menu, a little something for everyone! The Wild Boar pasta dish is amazing!
Amazing brunch! Great variety of food and amazing live music. Totally worth it.
Great news - Hothouse Sunday brunch buffet is back. Minor change with the carved meats and omelette station near the front of the restaurant. Selection is otherwise similar to pre-Covid. Great jazz music. Hand sanitizing before entering the buffet section. Sneeze guards at the stations. Seems Covid safe. Enjoyed the time spent. Not a cheap event at $35, drinks extra. Tax and tips also need to be added. However, worth the splurge for a special occasion, even if it is just to celebrate the return of the buffet.
Local staple never disappoints. Great location to meet up with our friends. Menu has nice variety and the food & service was just fine. No complaints whatsoever. Will certainly return and will recommend to others.
We had dinner at Hot House prior to attending the Leafs game. The ambiance was nice, relaxing and quiet. The service was quick and the server was polite and friendly. The food was nothing special but we weren’t looking for a gourmet meal or fine dining experience. I had the Pad Thai bowl and my husband had the straight up burger. The Pad Thai was average as was the burger but that being said, they weren’t bad, just average. We were just looking to have a quick bite before the game. Will we return, of course.
Excellent restaurant that I have been visiting for years. Good variety of food at moderate prices. Our server, Patty was very friendly and attentive.
Food is yummy at a good price. Restaurant is at a prime location.
Went here on a Tuesday night for a birthday dinner. It was quiet because of the day, but the ambience was very nice regardless. Food and drinks were delicious and surprisingly affordable for its location. They have a particularly creative cocktail list that is definitely worth a look. Their menu is seasonal, so we're excited to come back at different times and see what's new! Our server was very nice and went the extra mile to make sure we had the best possible meal. We were very happy with our first experience here.
What we had...
- Spiced Pun'kin Punch - fans of dark & stormy's and bourbon sours will like this one
- Habanero Ginger Apple Cider - a unique cocktail that's not too sweet and has a subtle heat to it, very tasty
- bottle of red wine (Ca'omi Rosso di Napa) - bottles were 1/2 price!
- Halloumi fries (appetizer) - good portion for 2 people (~3 each)
- BBQ Back Ribs - perfectly done, fall-off-the-bone
- Makhani Chicken Curry - the highlight of the night; truly delicious
- Sticky Toffee Pudding - a great way to end the meal
The heaters on the patio were fantastic this evening. We will definitely be coming back this winter.
Return to HH Buffet brunch
My favourite spot since I was a child. Was super excited that their Sunday brunch is finally back. Lots of quality options.
Everything I had tasted very good but the memory of the delicious bread pudding will stay with me for a long time!!
Sunday Brunch Buffet was very good. Up to pre-pandemic standards!
Bon rapport qualité/prix et excellent service!
had many good meals at this restaurant over the years, but not this one. Food tasted off, possible frozen or old. Been sick for days now.
Too bad, will not be going back. A dramatic slide for a normally predictably decent meal.
I would eat their mushroom soup everyday -- it's that good -- and the stir fry was very tasty, with enough shrimp (some places are very stingy with shrimp) with the tails off, which I prefer, since it's so much easier to eat. My husband had the French onion soup and the gnocci -- which he thought was delicious. Service was good -- no complaints. I would visit again.
The food was terrible.
Our group met for brunch and the HH was great as usual. We had excellent service from the wait staff
I was there for a business lunch. The service there is typically good. Attentive and the servers have a decent knowledge of their menu.. The recommendations they have made have all been good.
They were able seat us and have the bill in our hands in a timely manner. Which is appreciated if you have a busy or tight schedule.
The food itself was good. I had one of the pizzas and we had some wine. The pizza was done well. Thin crust and a decent amount of toppings. This of course depends on the individual and your likes but I felt it was a good amount of each ingredient on the pizza.
It’s a nice restaurant with good ambience and a reasonable price. I have added this restaurant to my regular rotation of places I will host businesses lunches at in the downtown Toronto area.
We had a cozy dinner for four on the patio with three heaters--and the staff, hostess, waiters and manager were as warm as the flames and as excellent as the food. We will come back!
My friend and I had a lovely lunch, thanks! Service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious.
You just cannot beat the entire experience of eating at the Hot House Cafe love it!
The food was delicious as usual and big portions. I had lamb shank and my friend the lasagna. They did some decorating during Covid including the outside patio area and the ambiance is really nice.
We were inside Hothouse for the first time since Covid started, and it was great to have that choice, instead of just the patio. It was a quiet evening so our table was well spaced from anyone else. Always friendly efficient service and good quality food.
Service was very slow, food was cold and we had to ask for everything (condiments, water, etc). Probably wouldn’t go back
Overall everything was very good. Great service by the waiter and staff was very friendly. There was a bit of a longer wait for the food than usual but other than that food was great.
Just plain meh
Love the food here great recommendations from the server. Never disappointed
Good to be back!! Lasagna was a bit salty but all else was good!
Server was very pleasant. Food was mediocre at best. Four of us and all had issues or concerns. Not enough dressing on salad, pasta dish was just ok, veggies were lukewarm but they did replace them. Croissant sandwich was square (?) and the meat was tough, eggs Benedict warm but not hot. May not rush back. Too bad. Handy location to the market. Prices are not cheap, so our expectations were higher. Our server was nice but we had to chase down our bill from another server.
Service was good. A server was training with our server and she was attentive and if we had questions she would go ask. Food was very good.
A great neighborhood choice, food always very good.
Good food. Good location. Great service. Well spaced seating.
Went for Sunday brunch. Overall good food and value. Coffee was just okay which is so disappointing especially when you are there for brunch.
This time, I did not have a good experience.
Food was way too expencive for what we ate.
18 dollars for an Avocado toast? Come on...it was basically a slice of bread with probably half avocado and 2 poached eggs.
My boyfriend ordered the St Lawrence Classic and the pemeal bacon was soo dry he almost chocked at every bite.
I won't recommend this place.
Best calamari rings and strawberry cheesecake I've ever had. Worst aioli I've ever had, was supposed to be pineapple flavoured but tasted like nothing. Waitress was meh, the table they gave me was in an awkward position and meh. It came highly recommended by the hotel concierge and barely hit Boston Pizza levels of restaurant experience. At least the food was good. Probably will never go back.
