Welcome to HOTHOUSE, one of Toronto's destination food and wine eateries. We nourish your family like we would our own, and believe quality food shouldn't break the bank.     We went for dinner on a Friday night and sat on the patio. We reserved in advance as there was a big festival in town. Service was quick and friendly. Food was great. Had the half rack ribs. Loved the potato salad and coleslaw. Also had the long island iced tea which was great. Washrooms were clean and there were plenty of stalls - so kudos for that. Would definitely recommend if in the downtown core (St. Lawrence Market) area.

    Not our best experience at Hot House maybe an off day. I didnt recognize the wait staff from previous visits. So it could be staff change for the fall. Will try again to see if the experience improves.

    Lovely meal, good atmosphere and the service was excellent. If you are looking for casual dining option with a good selection of choices on the menu, this is your place. We were overall very pleased with everything.

    Tee had to ask three separate people for a booster. It wasn’t busy. Our food took more than 30 mins to come . And the server did t tell us their name or barely checked in on us. When we asked for something it take like 10 mins to get it worst experience ever

    Good overall, but website menu listed mimosa at 2 for $10 and in person it was 2 for $12. Seems like a small thing but reflects poorly on the restaurant. We should have been offered the lower price; that would have been an appropriate response

    Convenient location close to St.Lawrence market. Price, service, presentation on a par with its peers in a competitive downtown scene where excellent restaurants abound. But, it’s got a decent sized outdoor patio. We asked for and got a table inside the restaurant in an area that was so quiet, we were able to have a conversation! We didn’t order any alcohol (mock tail was excellent) or dessert and service was still excellent. No penalty for not overspending. That sealed the deal. I’d come again and recommend it to others. Of course we added a good tip.

    Maybe they were having a bad night, but the service was atrocious. Details were missed in our orders - the food was literally thrown down on to the table - and nobody seemed to be paying attention to us. But they were still keen to get their 25% tip when the terminal showed up. Not on your life. In Toronto these days, there seems to be a lack of pride in the service industries - no one is a professional server anymore - just a collection of people looking for a pay check. The restaurant business will not survive on neglect. Will not return.

    Took both my parents during a visit to Toronto. I had made the reservation for outdoors but on arriving they decided they'd prefer to be inside and were immediately accommodated. My father in particular was blown away by the service and live music. My mother is more sensitive to noise but found the music to be at just the right level. With such a variety of selection you always wonder if a place is spreading itself too thin but everything we tried was very good-to-excellent. Salmon, pasta, and the special of the day (jerk chicken) stood out. Given runaway food prices these days the price per head seems more than reasonable for AYCE. I will be absolutely be back on future trips to the city.

    Wonderful place for brunch. Lots of options for delicious breakfast and lunch foods. Everything is tasty and high quality. The three paice smooth jazz bank is a nice touch.

    We waited 60 minutes for our food because they had a bus of seniors to take care of so we were the last priority. Food was average. The only thing they have going for them is their location.

    We had a great time at the Hothouse. The Beet salad was good but could be dressed up a bit more (maybe more salad toppers?). Mushroom pizza was really good. I appreciate that the sauce was able to be separated from the spaghetti pasta for my kid. Thank you - she is picky and likes plain food. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighbourhood. Lots of good memories with the brunch too. Enjoyed working with management on year events for our company. Nice staff and service.

    It was a 45 min wait to get the food after ordering. They then brought 2 out of 5 meals ordered, approx. 10 mins later they brought the 4 other meals but then everything was cold. 3 out of the five meals were wrong orders, the brought french fries with all the meals and not home fries that was ordered. Brought pea meal bacon instead of bacon with was ordered, toast was dry and not fit to eat. Served soup without a spoon. Also forgot forks and knives for the table. We have always had good experiences for the brunch buffet but it was canceled because it was labour day. Not a great experience!!!!

    We love Hot House brunch. Last time we were there the food was excellent, except for the pastries that tasted like they were a few days old. Otherwise it was great. We asked to move closer to the jazz music and they accommodated without a problem. It is getting a bit pricy. $45 a person is a lot, and not even coffee is included. Still worth going, overall.

    My friend's and I enjoyed our experience. I must however, mention the fact that I missed the delicious bread that was usually served before the meal. I also wanted to have a salad but was not enticed by the choices on the menu. As such, I had to choose something else

    There were fruit Flys and flys hovering around our table. Dont get me wrong even my 26 year son who is very picky where he eats was very impressed overall. The flys I mentioned is a probably an indication of the mis-managing of the restaurants trash. They were hovering over our table incessantly.

    It really use to be the place to go. The food has become bland at best. The ambiance was nice, jazz band to play for the guests. Variety was okay, nothing really stood out. For $45 per person, I don't think it was really worth it. The 2 for $12 mimosas were great though.
