    Did not like the bourbon drink. Watery. Butternut tortellini was tasty but not cooked even to al dente. We had a fish dish on risotto and it was absolutely excellent. The service was a tad spotty. We are from out of town and don't want to talk this restaurant down after this one time. If we lived in McAllen, we would certainly go back and give it another shot.

    My daughter and I had a marvellous time! The food was delicious and the wine selection was great. The staff were super attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we are in McAllen. Thank you for a great time!

    I used TripAdvisor to find a place for dinner during our recent trip to McAllen. House. Wine. & Bistro was close to the convention center and had excellent ratings. It was absolutely scrumptious! The brie appetizer was amazing. I hadn't realized that my husband hadn't had brie before and he loved this brie! We then chose the duck pasta to share. That was amazing as well. We had just enough room to share a dessert and selected the Italian doughnuts with a berry coulis and bits of chocolate cookie dough. I will be dreaming about this meal for quite a while!

    Always an awesome time. It was my boyfriend’s bday and he wanted crème brûlée but we were told it was off the menu. That’s the only reason for low stars for the food.

    Amazing service from the greeting at the front door to the seating and serving of food. The whole team was amazing and the food was incredible. My wife had the risotto and I had the lamb. Both delicious. Their baked brie is a must try. Will be going back regularly.

    Everything was good except the steak. I have been here several times and the steak was quite good, but the last 2 times it really was not up to what I consider standards. It was very fatty and had an usual taste (which I guess is what the chef wanted ). Not for me. The soup and salad dishes were very good and so was the cacio pepe

    Usually House.Wine is great but their service, food quality and attention to detail is beginning to suffer. I'm unsure if perhaps they aren't used to being open for lunch but yesterday it was a mess. First, we asked for their brunch menu, which they had been advertising, and after 10 minutes, our waiter finally comes back (nobody in the restaurant at this point) and shares that they can't find the menus but she would read the options to us. Then we order...we ask for a glass of Prosecco she shares they are out of it so she comes back with two options and when asked about the options, she did not know what they were. Then my husband attempts to order their pork chop from their regular menu, our waiter says they don't have the lamb or pork chop so he orders off the brunch menu and when he asked for his eggs to be made scrambled, she said she didn't think they could do that but she would ask. You can't scramble eggs? They did prepare them the way he asked but her response was confusing and unnecessary. She had shared their soup of the day was the tomato basil soup so I order that and when that arrives and I take the first spoonful, I taste fish. So I ask our waiter about it, she then shares the kitchen likely "messed up" and gave me the shrimp bisque. What in the world? They seemed incredibly unprepared and the wait staff while cordial is definitely lacking from the caliber of service House.Wine used to have. I've been going for 10+ years and I was so disappointed. I hope they can catch these errors sooner than later because then it will lose so much of the credibility it has built over the years.

    Love House wine. Shared the garlic lime shrimp app which was amazing. I had the bistecca and a Yahweh salad and the wife had the kanpachi. Both delicious. Really good wine and the server was super helpful with picking one out. We had the baked brie for dessert. We’ve been many times and continue to go because they’re so consistent with the quality of their food and their service.

    Great food and great service. I am very thankful to the staff who provided a birthday card for my wife who was celebrating her birthday. Very nice gesture. Thanks to all for making her day more special.

    My daughter invited 2 close friends to celebrate her 16th birthday and they had a fantastic dinner. We have been going to House. Wine. Bistro for 10 years and more often than not, the food and service is excellent. Thankfully, this evening matched that standard. One small yet very kind touch was the whole staff signed a Birthday Card that was at her preferred high table where they sat. Countless details are the difference between mediocre and magnificent. This is why HWB is a magnificent place!

    Our top three in the RGV. Consistently good. The lime shrimp app is amazing. The baked Brie is awesome for dessert. Yahweh salad so damn fresh. The pastas are top. Servers are attentive. Amazing wine.

    The quality of service was not the usual. Our server was non-attentive. It took 15 minutes after we ordered drinks for her to come to our table (without drinks) to ask if we wanted drinks! We had to ask our server if we could order appetizers before she disappeared again. Unfortunately, one of the entrees a member of our party wanted to order was not available, per usual they were out of the pork chop early on a Saturday evening (why is it even on the menu). The pasta didn’t taste quite right. We were there a few weeks ago and food and service were good. House Wine is a favorite of ours, but things seemed to have changed. Service and food are not quite what they use to be. We’re hoping it was just a bad night. But, it will be a while before we go back.

    Great meal here. I had the veal chop and it was sooo good. Very good wine. For dessert we had the baked Brie from the appetizer menu One of my favorite restaurants in the rgv.

    Nice place, it was a little loud inside but once the large party left it was nice and quiet. Food was a little salty but had good flavor. For dessert we had crèmebrule and my only request was we need that crack from the perfect caramelization. Yeah total let down on that part but it had good flavor

    For four of us. My salmon cake starter was a little bland and just warm. My pasta entree was too chewy and lacked interest - just some sausage and little in the way of veggies. Creme Brûlée was too runny and the topping not crisp, but tasted good. For the others, the brie starter was too sweet, but the lamb chops were good, and the steak cooked to perfection. Ambience wise, the restaurant was busy, and is very hollow so noise travels far and conversation is difficult. Wine was good value.

    If you visit any of Delgados restaurants you will appreciate the effort that goes into developing every item on the menu. The lime garlic shrimp were perfectly cooked and refreshing to the palate. The Bee Sting starter with jalapeño honey reminds you of a pizza until you taste the bread, meat cheese and honey. So flavorful. The lamb chops with blue cheese cream sauce was amazing. The chops had the perfect sear and while blue cheese isn’t my favorite it was perfect with those chops. I had the duck and it was good but a little heavier than I needed after the starters. Hands down an awesome date night and our server Lauren was very knowledgeable and the perfect person to serve us.

    My husband and I came in for a quick bite before attending the VSO performance. We enjoyed a couple of delicious starters and the butternut squash soup. The perfect way to start a fun evening out in McAllen.
