Superb food but pricey and vegetables were extra. But the food was incredible and service good

Our waiter was really nice. A bit disappointed with the food, which was not as good as expected, except the Caesar salad which was amazing. The grilled cheese was also very good. The clam shower was so so and the steak tartare from Araxi was10 times better than the one from Hy’s.

Hy's is a traditional style steak house with the steak house price. We started with their Caesar salad that is made table side. This is a nice salad and the experience is unique. After the salad, our meals came. Our main meal was fresh and average. One thing we missed was a great loaf of sourdough bread. We were hoping we would be offered some, but it never came and we didn't ask of they did. We ended with Bananas Foster made at the table. This was a fun experience for our son. In the end, we had an overall good experience, but their are better values, food quality and experiences at other restaurants in Whistler.

Disappointed in our visit this year. It didn’t appear due to crowds as it was a quiet week in whistler. Uninspiring over salted food and presentation that was overpriced for the rating. Famous ? AAA aged rib eye beef was quite fatty and Caesar salad flabby. Service was more to upscale food and wine sales then provide outstanding Customer service.
Too many other great restaurants in whistler to spend your hard earned dollars with. Felt sorry for our guests that graciously picked up the bill. Just an honest personal opinion.

We arrived at Hy's with high expectations for an excellent experience, and overall I would say that expectation was met. The service was outstanding, the ambiance "clubby" but not overly so, and the majority of the food was excellent. The cocktails were interesting and delicious, and the dessert was very good. My son and I ordered a large NY Strip to share but the waiter talked us into the bone-in NY strip at a small up charge for a larger serving and a perhaps more flavorful cut. Seemed a good call, and as I don't generally order this cut I was curious to try it. Unfortunately, the seasoning and overall flavor was unexceptional and I didn't care for the "Hy's Own" steak sauce, which the waiter removed from the bill at his own suggestion (it wasn't much but the gesture was appreciated). Having had steaks at many "high end" chains and independent restaurants, I feel I know what a really great steak should taste like, and this one was disappointing. Not by any means poor, but certainly not the caliber I had expected. For what it's worth, the preparation of "medium" was spot on, so that wasn't the issue. Overall it is hard not to recommend the overall experience, but perhaps try a different cut or even maybe one of the interesting looking fish offerings.

The food was amazing...
one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Service was excellent and they even have a kids menu which is a plus for me since I carry 3 of them around! Ja!
The place is super cozy and nice!!!

Our server was very arrogant and rude. We couldn’t believe it. Trying to order a drink with espresso and liquor 43 in it and he acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about and said they call them a pick me up. We ordered oysters again and he told us we should finish the ones We have first.

Then totally changed his attitude when he started making the salad with my four year old.
It was so weird. The salad didn’t taste good, and he said it was because of my child making it. Which was not kind Or appropriate either.
He also made a comment on my father in law paying the bill and how that was just me spending my inheritance when I punched in the code.

Not appropriate during a lot of the evening.
For a higher end restaurant that children are able to join. We did not enjoy this Experience at hy’s

We have been many times before.

My grandson could cook better meat loaf Yes I know you are steak place but why offer an inferior product when usually you are awesome . I felt like this time something lighter and when one dines alone sometimes service is lax.
