   A totally awesome experience! We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Everything that we ordered from the appetizers to the main entree to the dessert is fantabulous! And the service--Just simply awesome! Highly recommended restaurant not just for its food but for the friendly and superb staff.

   Our server Glen did a great job. There are some people that have the right character to make what they do seem effortless while maintaining a high level of service. Keep up the good work and we appreciated the last minute accommodation to be seated on the upper level.

   This was a re-visit from a previous undesired visit and I have to say it was phenomenal. My wife and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary and this was just a perfect night. Food was exceptional and the service was top notch. So happy we got to experience this great evening.

   Hy's was good but not great. There were a lot of little slips with the service level - initially sending us to the wrong table, omitting one of our appetizers that was then served with the mains, being asked for condiments but forgetting to bring them, not being attentive with wine service, etc. Generally forgivable on their own, but not expected in a premium restaurant with a bill north of $400 for two. The food quality was quite good, the oysters Rockefeller were delicious. We left satisfied but not delighted. There are better places in town for that price.

   Unfortunately our dining experience was not a positive one. Ordered escargots, arrived cool to warm and garlic butter not very flavorful. Filet and Caesar salad hood, prawns and scallops only okay.

   We returned two weeks following birthday celebration upended by fire in concourse that caused closure. Staff went out of their way to make me feel special! Food was outstanding. Feeling grateful.

    Our waiter was polite enough, not too bubbly. We’ve had better there.Cheese toast always a winner! The 3 scallops appetizer was not worth $31.95 - disappointing Daughter’s Neptune great, my Filet medallions were wonderful, my husband’s Filet was tough. No creme brûlée - disappointing. Appreciated the birthday dessert recognition.

    My wife and I came here for our anniversary and our server as well as the manager provided a wonderful experience which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Patrick and Julie. The food and drinks were tasteful and satisfying. We will definitely we attending once again.

    Tremendously overpriced for the food we received. I had ordered a baked potato with my steak and to put it nicely should’ve been in the garbage but I’m not one to return food at a restaurant. I wouldn’t have served that potato to anyone of my guests when I have diner parties at my home, it was burnt black inside and awful dry just like yesterday’s potato re heated in the microwave . For the price that was totally unacceptable. I’m a dairy/beef farmer, your waiter informed us that the steaks come from grass fed animals in Alberta, 1st of all where in all of Canada can beef cattle eat grass year round ? For the people who know better that saying is truly very stupid because it’s the farthest from the truth. 2nd thing , what is wrong with Manitoba beef ? You claim your a classy restaurant yet when I ask for salt and pepper the waiter brings 2 shakers instead of coming with a pepper mill with fresh ground. I assume there are more people out there like me because on a Friday night the restaurant should be full but it was far from that, price point way to high Anyway long story I was very disappointed in our experience for the money I left behind.

    Referred to parkade for parking. It was awful. Parked in casual parking was on floor 6 ( the rest below were monthly parking). Got to the elevator but was not working - had two walk down six flights and then walked a poorly marked path to Hy's. Took 20 minutes. Once at Hy's the manager blamed this on the parkade signage and was not responsive to my comment that Hy's referred us to the parkade so they should bear the responsibility.

    Appetizers were amazing! The main course was good, it lacked garnish so looked very dull but tasted nice. Very pricey which was expected but you could get the same experience and meal elsewhere in the city for cheaper.

    The service was absolutely top-notch. Kelly and Andrew made it a very memorable night. My steak was a bit under done ( but I didn’t say anything) They would have been more than willing to fix it if I had. The entertainment of having the Caesar salad and Bananas Foster made at our table dude could not be best!

    Went for business lunch, so not the time or place to complain about the food... but it was way below par. Had the steak salad - the steak was cooked nicely, but the piece of steak had a large tough vein of gristle throughout. Terrible piece of steak. The salad wasn't dressed, and if it was, it wasn't noticeable, and unflavourful. Cheesecake desert was no-bake cheesecake, similar to what you might pickup at Safeway. The only good thing about the meal was the coffee. I've been here for multiple business lunches and dinners before Covid, but now they have seriously poor quality of food, and very overpriced. They need to up their game and menu. There are way better dining options in Winnipeg. I'm really disappointed I went here. I will not be back.

    Prices are exorbitantly expensive. Meals were cooked to order. The brussell sprouts are deep fried to being burned. Wasn't edible at all. If you're going to charge the amount you do at least serve food that's edible. That dish alone cost $15.00 It is pricey for the average diner. WAY too pricey.

    Our server Laurance was amazing. Honestly he is the only reason this did not end up with dishes being sent back. Two vegetarians and one father who I thought I would “spoil” with the “best” steakhouse in the city. I knew going in that this was a place for meat eaters, no problem. But both of the vegetarian meals were just simply terrible. $28 for the vegetarian loaf that was dry, bland and had tofu just chopped and shoved in the middle of it. Mashed potatoes were lumpy. Gravy, for how bland the entire meal was, you would need about a cup of it to help this dish. The vegetarian bowl. Better for sure, but still no thought. 20 different kinds of veggies just tossed in a sauce. Great that there are 20 veggies, but how did the black beans end up in there? It was like an the fridge of all the rotting veg kind of approach. No the veg were fresh, but throwing 20 in a bowl with literally no cohesion?? It was better than the loaf, but let’s all remember we are paying $30 a meal. It could have been $50 and I would have been happy had the food been good. Although vegetarians are not the target market, we go out with people who like a good steak. I think this has been totally ignored. Escargot were amazing. Bananas foster also great. Drinks, tasty. Server was truly the only enjoyable part. With an end bill of over $400 for three people, I would have hoped the food, for everyone, was palatable. Steak, so I was told, just ok, good even, but not worth the significantly higher price point being charged for the name on the door.

    Absolutely delicious, im not really a steak fan and the steak Neptune with filet was to DIE for. Literally the best thing I’ve ever had. It was our anniversary and pretty sure I was saying mmmm through the whole meal. Lol totally worth the price!

    There was no flavour to any of or mains. They also forgot the sides we ordered, cream corn and broccoli. We were half thru our mains when the waiter came to ask how everything was. We asked about the sides and he said he could rush them out as he forgot about them. Took total responsibility but we said it was okay we’re half done With the amount we paid, we left unsatisfied.

    I have been dining at Hy's for over 30 years, and it has been a consistently good experience. It is a little too pricey for my budget, so unfortunately we are only able to go there for special occasions. We always look forward to going there because we enjoy the food and the ambiance. The food is always delicious and the service is always top notch. It is definitely worth the splurge!
