As usual we had a wonderful meal and excellent service. Ikram was full and they had the usual number of staff but that didn't inter with the service. The wonderful thing about that meal was ever though every table was full the room was conversation friendly and we had a relaxing and long meal!

Ikram is an unusual and delightful place to eat. Situated on the second floor of an upmarket women's clothing store, you need to know it is there, as there is no sign at street level to tell you it exists. The food is fresh, vibrant and tasty. The service is a little relaxed, but if you are not in a hurry, it is a great lunchtime spot.

The dining room is gorgeous. Food was delicious and well paced. The dining room was not full and we quickly made friends with the next table as we compared our meals.

My husband and I felt welcomed in both the dining room and the store. The jewelry was way above my price point but I was invited to try it on just for fun!

Ikram cafe Is a sophisticated oasis with beautiful food including many great vegetarian and vegan options, a charming small dining room with beautiful views, attentive and polished service, and a glorious level of chic.

From the reviews I was expecting an excellent birthday lunch (no acknowledgement of the occasion despite it being marked on the online reservation). Our waiter was awesome until the 11-table place suddenly filled at which point he became completely swamped (seemed like he was the only server). The burger I ordered medium well, was rare, but I would've had to get up and take it back to the kitchen myself to fix it, and as it took an hour to arrive, I basically ate the sides off of it - not enjoyable. The parsnip soup had too many other flavors overwhelming the delicate flavor, the chocolate mousse on the bland side. Excellent coffee, good bread, and a very pleasant room with lots of windows.

Ikram is a unique and delicious restaurant. There happened to be a large party with 5 or more children. This disrupted our conversation but we understood it was a special occasion for this family. Aside from that, the food was perfect! Excellent service. I only wish when I made a reservation they would have said a large party with many children would be sitting next to us.
I will ask next time I go.

The chicken salad and mint tea were delicious. A woman had her 1-yr old child there for his birthday who kept screaming with excitement and needs. Inappropriate for infants.

Our food choices were creative, tasty and beautifully presented. I’m glad I moved back to Chicago so that I can enjoy Ikram Cafe more often. Very impressive for out of town guests.

Ikram is a small, intimate cafe atop a luxury ladies clothing store. In spite of the fact that there's no chance I'm going to buy anything in the store, the welcome is always warm and heartfelt.

Once you get upstairs, you are greeted by welcoming staff (Emanuel) and great, farm to table food. The bison burger is a huge hit, as are the fish, pork or steak tacos. The lamb meatballs are a personal favorite, largely because of the way the side dishes meld with the lamb.

Hard to find without knowing about it, this is a hidden gem in the big city.

I’m not quite sure I understand your reading for noise level. Does a high-level mean high noise or does it mean in the noise level was good? In any event the noise level the chrome is wonderful very peaceful and conducive to conversation

Ikram Cafe is a cozy dainty dining space for the ladies who need a lunch break from shopping in their high fashion boutique. Service was top notch - our server was polite and charming. A bowl of artisan bread and sauteed baby kale was served first as complimentary appetizers. I especially liked the sunflower seeds bun and the wrapped butter. The bison burger is an excellent choice featuring a thick layer of cheddar and fluffy buns. Very savory and filling. For the lamb meatballs entree, I most enjoyed tasting the crunchy zucchini fritter!

Ikram boutique sells very eclectic styles with refreshing color, fabric and pattern combinations. I wish I could show you some of their clothing and accessories, but no photography is allowed on the first floor, which I understand as it would violate proprietary rights of the fashion designers.
