   Watch your bill Love Il Mulinos ..come for me very visit to NYC but they lose a star for service Listened as table next to us was overcharged for their meal Watched as head waiter has to go through bill and clean up and overcharge When we got our bill..same and discern waiter..charged for 2 glasses of wine (@$25/glass). And this is not the first time it’s happened to us We addressed it, it was corrected but there was zero apology. Basically a “ok, you only had two glasses..we’ll take it off” ..starting to not look like once off error

   We love this restaurant. My fiancé and I were engaged back in August of 2021 and had a stellar private event space outside, and have been making it a regular thing to come back here for special events since. Tonight was my fiancé's birthday which happens to be 3 weeks before our wedding and wanted to stop in for one more meal before the big day. The food was lovely, the service was timely and on point, and the suggestions of spacing out our courses and the wine pairing was perfect. To cap things off, the staff brought out birthday tiramisu for my fiancé and the whole restaurant sang Happy Birthday in English and then in Italian. We capped the night off with some home made grappa and took some leftovers as well that we'll enjoy for the next couple of days. The best Italian food in the city bar-none. Come here often and stay a while. Thanks again to everyone at their Downtown location for making your restaurant feel like home!

   We dined at 6 pm and while it was far from crowded, it seemed to take the staff a while to get into high gear. Apart from that very minor lapse, we were once again movingly impressed with every aspect of our meal. The cooking here is simply unsurpassable.

   We enjoyed and outstanding meal! In true Il Mulino style, lots of food before we even saw the menu! I had the Lobster Il Mulino, the dish hadn’t changed in 20 years and still remains one of my all time favorites. I had the grilled octopus salad to start and again, exceed my expectations. Clearly this location, is my favorite, unlike the other which have become more commercial.

    The service is perfect, the food is totally something traditional in Italy, what I like the most is the customer service since it is very attentive, efficient and fast. This place surprised me with its flavors since it is prepared correctly as an Italian would! I have nothing more to add, it's perfect. I will be back for more!

    Completely blown away but this restaurant it lived up to the high expectations. We already scheduled another reservation to return to the restaurant. To start they brought us loads of bread, bruschetta, Parmesan cheese, etc. the entrees were great and the service was unmatched. The staff was all so welcoming and kind it felt like we were in Italy. 10/10

    I love IL mulinos the staff of amazing first class servers. The service is like no other, Claudio the captain has been there since I first started going there 35 years ago. They spoil you with these mini appetizers. Such as sautéed mushrooms, freshly chopped tomato’s with a slight taste of our olive oil. Accompanied with garlic thin slices of Italian bread. Let’s not forget the thin slices of Italian salami & chunk of Parmesan cheese. My appetizer was grilled Octopus & a delicious tender Fish Branzine simple but delicious. They never disappoint

    I was taken here by one of my vendors who had this on his wish list. It was a quaint, unassuming location with a high level of service from what appeared to be authentic Italian staff members. The escargot we had was as delicious as I've ever had and the somellier's selection of wine for our dinner was on point. The area was packed with tables but it didn't stop us from having a productive 3 hour work-dinner.

    This is the first restaurant in NY that I've been in since the pandemic began, and the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Everything is a step beyond what I expected--from the crostini and all the complementary starters, roasted scallops wrapped in prosciutto, to a truly superb Bucatini all' Amatriciana, and lovely wines. Not enough words to describe how delicious was every single thing we were served. The staff are warm, inviting. Try some of their home made grappa and lemoncello. Pricy? --yes. Worth it?--definitely! All-in-all, an exceptional dining experience that's hard to match!

    Charged $20 more to my credit card then what I indicated and signed. That’s fraud!! And here I gave them $45 in cash for tip and this is how they conduct business and treat their customers. Will never dine here again!

    The reviews seem too good to be true, but they are. Pricey, but worth every penny. Unfortunately, that means it's always full, but the slightly hectic setting is not a significant drawback when you're enjoying food as good as this. The multiple samples that appear on the table as soon as you sit down are amazing -- and free. And the portions are very generous. I took home enough of my entrée for another meal, and there's enough of my wife's pasta entrée to make a nice side dish for me. And even the by-the-glass wines are great. This is a wonderful place to go for a special occasion.
