   I traveled from Texas for a short vacation with my friend and fiancée. I wanted one special dinner to celebrate upcoming events and after extensive research, I chose Irene’s. As an industry professional and foodie, I cannot express how ecstatic I was at the service we received. They knew we were celebrating and pulled out ALL the stops. Complimentary tastings and dishes, a personalized toast from our spectacular server, Demetrius, and the perfect window table. Each dish was flavorful, perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was above and beyond and the entire evening was more than we ever could have asked for.

   This restaurant is a gem of New Orleans, which is high praise in a city with a range of superb culinary establishments. From the gorgeous decor to the outstanding food and service, you cannot go wrong at Irene's. Our server, Michael, was wonderful. He made every one at our table feel as if he had all the time in the world to take care of us and of course, he was making everyone at all his tables feel that way. He had exceptional table-side manner. The Drum fish was incredible. The Paneed Oysters were divine. The bread pudding/bananas Foster combo dessert was terrific. Our one wish was perhaps a wider selection of wines. There were no NZ sauv blancs, for example, no Wilamette Valley Pinot Gris. That said, we managed and enjoyed the wine we selected. All in all, a truly splendid experience.

   10/10! Our dining experience at Irene’s was incredible, and Sean truly elevated it even further. The food was outstanding, and the service was so exceptional that we ended up coming back for a second night during our stay (and asked for Sean). This will be a must-visit spot every time we’re in New Orleans—we’ll be recommending it to everyone we know!
