Iridescence Ratings and Reviews
While the view and service were outstanding, my steak was terrible. It was burnt on the first try and still overcooked and dry on the second attempt. $35 for a piece of burnt meat on a plate with nothing else, not even a garnish. Not worth it. We were there for our anniversary but the food made it a little less special. Kudos for the beautiful dessert though.
Being that the auto charity preview this night you would think they would be ready for the crowd. We sat down at 9:30pm, ordered at 9:50 and received our food at 11:30. During this time they kept saying that the food will be out in a few minutes, never came. Once we got our food my wife’s steak was under cooked, so we sent it back, they only cooked the pieces that were cut up. They then at that point said they would take the steak off. Terrible service and even worse way of responding to it.
Great view, great food, strip was better than the fillet, lobster mac was amazing! guy with the water is relentless tho!
My husband Wayne had our anniversary diner while I was in our room sick with the flu ugh. He was with friends of ours and had a delightful experience. The chef came out and taught him how a real steak should be cooked and it was prepared to perfection. He especially loved our waitress, Jaime who was professional and well informed about everything from cocktails to dessert. Thanks to your entire staff, Bravo and we will be back very soon!
Nice meal for a date or family. Not gourmet, but a beautiful view and some good bites.
My wife and I had dinner here for our 5th Anniversary and were not disappointed. First of all, in my reservation I had mentioned that we were here for our anniversary. When we arrived, the hostess wished us a happy anniversary before she seated us at an available table of our request. Once we were seated, we were again greeted by the server who took our drink orders with a "happy anniversary". Finally, when our dinner server approached our table, she wished us the same and asked how many years we were married and seemed very genuine. These kind of things made our night seem that much more special. As far as our meals go, my wife got Salmon and I the Filet; both of us were very happy with our meals. We also each had whipped potatoes and asparagus which were both excellent. Our server did a wonderful job explaining dishes for us and made recommendations when requested. At the end of our dinner the server asked if we'd like dessert, which we decline, but she insisted that dessert was on her/the house for our anniversary and brought us a melting chocolate ball cake. The plate came with "Happy 5th Anniversary" written on the plate in chocolate and the server worked her magic to open the chocolate ball to reveal the cake and raspberries that were inside. The view of Downtown Detroit was excellent as well.
Overall, our dinner was fantastic. We would absolutely go back and would recommend Iridescence to anyone looking for a special night with great food, fantastic service, and a nice view!
After a number of visits we have never been disappointed. The food is always incredible. My one bit of advice is to always trust your server. After our first time we were so impressed with our server Helios that we always request him. His suggestions are all spot on.
The evening was great. Took my sister out for her birthday and she was very impressed by the birthday plate they brought out for her complimentary with her name drizzled in chocolate with a candle at the end of dinner. Awesome!!
Kudos to our server Oretha for making sure everything was perfect for our dinner date!
We were celebrating a 50th birthday and this restaurant was fantastic! The four-course dinner was amazing and they brought the desserts on a beautifully decorated plate. We would definitely go back.
Waiter was distracting to our romantic evening. He kept dropping by frequently to check on us, or interrupt us, even when it was obvious that we were deep in conversation or eye gazing. He brought the check prematurely and then tried to pick it up before we were ready to go. All in all, even if the food was decent, not the place to go for romance.
Small amt of food for price but food was excellent
This was a wonderful evening. Everything was perfect!
Went here for my birthday this past weekend and was very disappointed the food took forever to come out and wasn't that tasty for thge time we waited..ive been to diners that were much better..regret spending the money on such an awful meal
We liked that the restaurant was in the hotel of the casino - it made for a great anniversary getaway
Great dinner and service . The early eine and dine menu was perfect .
We enjoyed the evening with Chelsea as our server , baring none , the best we have ever had , the food was wonderful, the courses were timed perfectly, and the atmosphere was great . We will be back !
Amazing food!! My wife ordered the salmon (one of the few things I don't like) I tried it and it was incredible. My filet was perfect and soooooo tender. Will definitely be back.
Our server Chelsea was fantastic! Also appreciated how the whole staff was professional and attentive. Very knowledgeable about the food as our party enjoyed the 7-course tasting with wine pairings. Delicious! View was spectacular and everything about our experience was very very good. Will absolutely be back.
Great service, atpmosphere and I defenitly eat there again. A bit pricey, but a great steak and good sides and excellent service.
One of the best meals I have ever had and the staff was amazing, we were able to dine by a window so the views were amazing also. Going to make it a once a month treat for ourselves
Such a beautiful place. The staff was so wonderful, accommodating our large party on Christmas Day. Service was prompt and very friendly. Food was excellent. I think it was the first time my entire family ever agreed that one place was amazing!
Great view, excellent filet and service. My only complaint was if you try to make reservations directly with the restaurant the hostess said they were booked and in fact I was able to make reservations through open table with several time slots. The restaurant was not full, plenty of open seating.
Restaurant is very nice and great setting however don't go when it's foggy or when the weather is bad. You won't be able to see anything.
1. Mix up in reservation time which was frustrating. They called me at 5:30 to confirm an 8pm reservation when in fact the reservation was at 5:30. Their system should've known that and that seemed a bit unprofessional.
2. Service is only ok. Our waitress wasn't very attentive and barely refilled our drinks. Fellow that cleared the table would take food away when we clearly were not done. Very strange.
4. Ordered my filet medium rare but it came more on the meduim well side. Was very disappointed that they didn't cook it correctly at such an expensive restaurant.
3. Unable to see anything due to weather so make sure you book on a nice, clear day.
1. Ambiance was beautiful
2. Their wine and dine special was nice and gave us an opportunity to try different things
Overall, enjoyed trying a new place.
Food was excellent! Service was excellent. We had an awesome view of the lit up ambassador. The lighting was perfect in resturant. Romantic but not to dark. We loved the easy iPad menu. We had a wonderful experience. We will go back and highly recommend!
This was the best dining experience my family has had. Absolutely delicious food and the best wait staff. The restaurant is elegant but also has a cozy vibe. I would definitely recommend Iridescence restaurant. I read all the positive reviews and they did not disappoint. 5 stars!
We weren’t happy with our steak and mentioned it to the server but no one offered a new one or anything else.
This was our first, but definitely not last time here. Everything was perfect. Great food, great service, and great view (request a window seat if party of 2).
Went there for a birthday celebration, was sat in the back. After spending over $250, dessert was not covered for the birthday person. Felt it should’ve been.
I enjoyed the awesome meal, superb service and delightful ambiance. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful experience during our first trip to Iridescence. We had 5pm reservations (we were headed to a concert at Sound Board in the casino that started at 7:30pm). Parking at Motor City is easy, and getting up to the restaurant is smooth. It is very fancy, but doesn't feel stuffy. It was exclusive without being stuck up. The staff and crew are welcoming. We did the Wine & Dine - a great deal for a glass of wine and four-course dinner! One of our fav dining experiences in Michigan.
Can't say enough about our server Oretha and that was before she brought out two hand written in chocolate desert plates recognizing our 31st anniversary. The food was great and the value was there with the 55 dollar early seating. We each gave our server a big hug after the meal, she was that special. Thank you Iridescence.
Our third chef tasting with wine pairing here. By far the best... Good food and service was quite good. Our last two times, chef came and talked to us... Chef did not come out to talk.
There was no dessert wine either which is a bit odd.
One of the best chef tastings with wine pairing in Detroit!
Amazing service, catered to every request and went out of their way to determine potential allergens for our party. Very expensive but it's worth it.
Very nice restaurant . Great food , nice staff and loved the scenery. Detroit lit up at night is like any other big city at night, beautiful.
Food was excellent and service was great. Our waitress's personality was a little strange, but everyone else very nice and normal. We shared the amazing chocolate dessert and it was wonderful, but very rich.
Our server was fantastic. She treated us like we were the only table in there, and the chef even came out to personally answer a question we had about one of the appetizers we were eating (it was so good, we had to ask about where it was from:). A great experience and worth the added cost!
Iridescence is a premier restaurant that never disappoints with respect to the experience. You will spend some money (about $200 is not uncommon for a couple including drinks). Helios, one of the waiters, is absolutely sensational. I highly recommend requesting his services if possible, since he is likely to enhance your experience ten-fold.
Everything was fantastic. We ordered steaks, and both were cooked/seasoned perfectly. Beyond the food, the views were amazing as well.
