Steaks were tough for two diners, other entrees & sides were good as were the cocktails.
The food was absolutely delicious; well worth the wait. I love the fact that they have a morning happy hour, most restaurants don’t have that and I think that’s one of the things that makes this restaurant unique
Absolutely love this place! Great place to relax and enjoy a fresh meal.
Always a good meal and a great time at Iron Rooster! Have enjoyed many a breakfast there, nevermind what time of day it is. They don’t have real maple syrup, but they make up for it with the maple butter on the pancakes. Eggs, bacon, waffles, everything I’ve eaten there has been delicious. Sometimes the wait is astronomical. That’s the one drawback to being a great restaurant.
VERY GREAT PLACE FOR FOOD AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT!
Always have a great time and great food there. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and brussel sprouts. Can easily make a meal out of those!
Excellent service. Consistently good food. Reservation strongly suggested.
We had an amazing dining experience at the Iron Rooster! This was some of the best food we have eaten in quite a while, and the service was impeccable! Everyone was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back again 😊
The food was amazing!! The chicken and waffles had a great flavor. Tiffany was a wonderful server and would definitely request her again.
Fabulous breakfast and make sure you order the pop tart 🙂
They had the best fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had. The portion sizes were very nice and all 4 people in our party enjoyed their meal. The waiter was quite attentive. I’d recommend.
I had the pork chop which was 35%-40% fat, the rice was bland, and the asparagus was burnt on one end and the stem was uncooked. My girlfriend’s pancakes were over cooked.
I was looking forward to the food and it just wasn’t good.
After waiting for our waiter for 15 to come to our table he was excellent! The food was amazing as well.
We have been here 3 or 4 times and always enjoyed it. For our daughter’s birthday we came to celebrate but the server took our order and apparently never put it in until we complained. We received our food over 1 hour lifter arriving with some of it being only lukewarm. The manager did give us our entrees free and a card for 4 free meals next time we came. We will likely give them another try and see if it was just a one time thing.
I love Breakfast for Dinner, and enjoyed a refreshing, spicy Bloody Mary with a strip of crispy bacon across the top. Man, it was good! Also had the Big Brunch Bowl, which was so good that I can't stop thinking about it! I look forward to my next visit, which will be very soon ;)
The food and service was horrendous! I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
We thoroughly enjoyed taking our 3 young daughters to Annapolis for the first time. The Iron Rooster did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the location perfect. It was a family-friendly, delicious meal from start to finish.
Iron rooster use to be a great place to go to eat but recently it has been not as good. The past three or four times i have gone the service has been bad (we had reservations and yet we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table, they can gave incorrect change and told me they couldn’t give me the proper amount because they had no change, they forgot to give me my drink, are just a few examples). It’s sad because I loved coming in but due to recent experiences I don’t think I’ll be continuing to dine here.
The Iron rooster is a delightful surprise. We booked out of scheduling convenience and had a pleasant and delicious dining experience. Don't be put-off by the "breakfast all day" advertising or menu. There is a supplementary menu with excellent choices for dinner or lunch. That being said, I will be trying some of the breakfast offerings next visit expecting them to be every bit as good as the steak frites I enjoyed. This is a spot that should be around for awhile. Good food and a great location. Reservations will be a must.
We sat outside on a beautiful morning. Our food was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Great dining experience.
Our waiter was amazingggg! The food was freaking delicious! We both got burgers and yum! We got the Strawberry Shortcake desert which had us in heaven! I definitely recommend this place and will definitely come back again!
Their homemade roostarts are amazing. Ours was a little dry around the edges, but yummy. I got the chicken and waffles, the chicken was amazing. The waffles were a little darker than I like and a tiny bit dry. It was delish. I will be back for sure. I checked in on social media and got a free bacon...Love Bacon!!!
Food was salty and not particularly good. Wait staff were very nice.
The meal was good. I would gave been upset if I waited in a long line to eat here though.
Awesome food and awesome service. Definitely going back!
Fills a niche for a variety of food at a reasonable price. Nice decor and space between table.
Would recommend upstairs.
Service was excellent. Manager was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and interesting (different).
Breakfast was “ok” service was fast, good atmosphere, got the french toast and it was dry.
Iron Rooster was a very hit and miss dining experience for us.
The misses -
- Our server didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu items, every question we asked, she said she would have to find out and let us know. While I'm glad she didn't lie, it also seemed weird that she knew so little about what was in so many dishes (we had a lot of questions).
- The entrees: My chicken pot pie was disappointing. It was mostly filler and the sauce wasn't that great. The chicken that WAS in it was really good. There just wasn't very much of it. The actual pot pie was huge though. My friend's salmon was overcooked, even after she asked if it could be cooked medium rare, and the brussel sprouts were kind of bland.
The hits -
- Service was good, other than not knowing the answers to our questions
- The appetizer - the chorizo mac and cheese bites were AWESOME, which unfortunately set us up for disappointment with the rest of the meal
- The kale - the kale was delicious. I don't even like kale and I tasted some and it was good. That might have just been due to my pot-pie disappointment, but I almost stole more kale from my friend's plate. AND I DON'T LIKE KALE.
- The drinks - My friend got a manhattan which was DELICIOUS and a generous pour. I got one of the specialty mixed drinks which I can't remember the name of - it was fruity, sweet, and refreshing. Not as generous a pour, but still delicious.
We aren't totally turned off from the restaurant, but I think next time we'll either hit the bar for appetizers and dessert (were sadly too full to try the desserts we wanted to) or order from the all-day breakfast menu. The menu is huge and looks delicious, but I have a feeling that the focus is really on the breakfast items. With such a large menu, it's maybe not surprising that some of the items are underwhelming, but I'd hesitate to order a dinner entree again.
If you love breakfast, you’ll love Iron Rooster. We’ve had breakfast and brunch, and took advantage of Annapolis Restaurant Week to go at dinner time. Excellent cocktails, excellent food, and there’s a bonus, Roostarts to go!
It was ok. Service was very good. Seating is ok. Most of all, my omelette was cold and not very well prepared. All the ingredients seemed to be as cited on the menu, but bacon was very hard, there were only two jalapeno slices, it was not spicy at all as the menu indicated. Just not a very well prepared dish. For all of the good things and recommendations we had received from our Son, it was a disappointment. We had a visitor from out of town and overall with traveling to downtown Annapolis for this meal, it was a bit embarrassing. Will not go here again with guests or probably not with my wife either -- although she liked her dish quite a bit. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but it should all be excellent given the billing it received in advance.
Food was quite good. Lots of variety. Waiter rushed us so we didn’t enjoy it as much as we’d like. Read your people, folks!
First time eating here, thought it was great. Food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! I've heard some good reviews of the Rooster so decided to try it for Annapolis Restaurant Week. The best part of the evening was that we were seated in probably the warmest of this place. The Restaurant Week Menu sounded interesting, but not a value ($34.95). What I ordered, had I went with the usual menu, was not appreciably less costly. My wife just went for the menu's Shrimp and Grits as her entree. I ordered the Chorizo Mac & Cheese bites (interesting but heavily fried), the Steak Frites (Terrible - so-called hand-carved Ribeye? HAH!) and fries that were pretty soggy, and Waffle Churros (SO fried and WAY too much sugar coating). And, the waitress brought my wife's entree at the SAME time she brought my Mac & Cheese appetizer! We could NOT wait to get thru the meal and leave. DO NOT GO TO THE IRON ROOSTER - period - unless you want a miserable dinner and strange service.
Love the food. Portions are large. I had the chicken fried steak and it was piping hot and tasty. The Mac n cheese bites were delicious. And of course, who doesn’t love the pop tart for dessert.
Food was just ok. Service was somewhat slow. Area we sat in was cold. Probably would not dine here again. The reviews looked great, so maybe our expectations were high... we were underwhelmed.
Packed during a holiday weekend and service/food/everything, could not have been better!
Wonderful time with family. We had the "pop tarts and chicken and waffles - wonderful food!
Delicious food and excellent service. Definitely will visit again soon!
The staff was very friendly, good food was fantastically delicious, homemade Pop tarts by far the best I’ve ever had! I’m an out of towner always make a point to dine here while in town.
