Italian Kitchen - Vancouver
Friday - Saturday 11:30 am–12:00 am
1st time at the new location with the new menu. Old location got 5/5 for everything for me but this new location just felt a little meh to me. Still good food and everything was good but lost the cozy feel and ambience that the old location had. Still a 4.5/5 for me though and would return.
The food was perfectly executed and presented. Service was impeccable!
It was our daughter's birthday, everything was perfect and our server really went out of her way to make our entire experience unforgettable.
We celebrate our friend's birthday. We told our waitress and she sent us a nice birthday cake. We all had a nice dinner there. It's also a veggie friendly restaurant. We will come back again.
My friend had really good birthday diner there! Thank you for the birthday tiramisu!
I’ll start with the good! W head a good time! We were booked for 4 on a week day so there wasn’t much of a crowd which we loved. We had the beet salad and the Caprese salad which were both good. For mains we had a vegetarian oats dish(I forget which one). It was food but not as flavourful but the sauce wa tasty once we mixed it up. We also had the Tonno which was so good . Nicely seared on the outside and tender in the center. Delicious! Even the lentils (?) it came with were delicious. for dessert we had the tiramisu and the semifreddo. The semifreddo won hand down! Deleicious italian dessert! The patches on the top, the coconut shavings, the texture of the semifreddo itself just delicious! We didn’t have any wine so I can’t comment on that but the virgin mai tai was delicious. The one con! There were fruit flies! Between my husband and I we killed four! I’m not sure if it’s because we were seated near a rear door or what but it was very annoying but we made the beat of it. But please Italian kitchen get those fruit flies under control. Dinner was great though.
It was like a high end fast food restaurant. Not what I expected after they took over this space.
Excellent service food and value
Food was tasty but service was very slow between the appetizer and the Main dish. Nice atmosphere.
I booked this restaurant to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. We were seated in a small table at the back of the restaurant near the washroom. Given the reservation was for 6pm on a Tuesday night and reservation made well in advance (the week prior) and given the restaurant was not busy i would have preferred the front of the restaurant as opposed to in the back . There were 7 adults and we found the table a bit cramped for space. The food was expensive and absolutely not worth the price at all. I`ve had far better meals at Joeys or Cactus Club. The seafood linguine was cold and no flavour on the seafood. The lobster was overcooked (2 people had this dish and experienced the same thing). Myself and one other had the sablefish and while cooked perfectly was lacking in flavour (I believe your menu states the sablefish is 'marinated'. Well the fish we had was not marinated at all. One person had the calamari as his main dish. When it arrived it was soggy due to the fact it was put on top of some sauce. We all did however find the service excellent. Overall this was a highly disappointing experience to all in our group and we won't be returning nor will we recommend to anyone else. I wish i had gone across the street to Le Crocodile.
Service was terrible. Never paid any attention to our table. The food wasn’t good either. Very salty. Never go there again
Mediocre food in a nice room. Expectations were higher yet all three of us who dined agreed it missed the mark. Overly huge portions and heavy on salt.
High quality yet casual restaurant. Nice ambiance. Excellent service. They did a special vegetarian pasta for my wife and my mixed seafood pasta was outstanding.....generous seafood portions, hearty and tasty sauce and excellent plate presentation. Wish we lived nearer. Highly recommend
The waiter misplaced my order but he apologized and corrected it immediately. He apologized again later and informed me that my food will be out in a few mins. I really like the service and I wasn’t mad at all about the mistake.
The caprese salad and beet salad was fresh and delicious.
Adam was great food yummy
Excellent food - some of the best pasta I've had in over 30 years' travelling. Great atmosphere and very attentive service.
Great all-round experience. Would certainly recommend and will visit for sure on our next trip to Vancouver.
Service took too long, food was subpar.
Food was delicious, loved the new location Jamie our waitress was great!
Take le of 4 and everyone enjoyed their meals and visit!
This was our second dinner at the Italian Kithen during our 4-day visit to Vancouver. We lived it so much the fist time that we decided to return for our last dinner in the city. Once again our experience was magnificent, thanks in part to our server Sarah B.
Excellent food. Very good polite service. Great location in downtown Vancouver.
Great service; positive dining experience. Will definitely return!
First time visiting their new location on Burrard. The food as always was excellent with great service. Outdoor seating much better than on Alberni St. Entrée portions were just the right size, but if you have the Burrata appy I recommend sharing it. All in all a nice evening
Disappointing meal. Not anywhere near how good it was in old location.
very decent-service a little crusty but efficient-way too loud in our opinion but the meals were very good to excellent
A huge improvement over Don Francesco which previously occupied this location. Very nice interior with good solid Italian food, prompt service, and generous portions. Prices are a tad on the high side but not ridiculously so. Worth a visit.
Tourist trap. Overpriced. Poor ingredients.
Brother- and sister-in-law were in town so we took them out for dinner. We didn't realize it was their anniversary, but it came up in discussion over dinner. The server overheard this and brought out a complementary desert with happy anniversary written on it (and it was an amazing desert!). Really just an excellent dinner all around. We will definitely be back, and often.
Great atmosphere, service and deserts.
No more sandwiches or quick lunches. Mostly Appies and Entrees now. Good for corporate lunches on the bosses credit card, but there are better places around there for value and choice.
The service was soooo slow and the garlic toast was cold .. and it was my sons birthday.. he offered us tiramisu and when I said he would take the donuts instead which was less of a price her charged us.. it took 25 minutes to get the bill.. disappointing
Always great service and favourite Italian restaurant. The service is exceptional, hard working staff, well managed.
I came to Italian Kitchen while I was in town for work. I was seated at the bar, which was classy and clean, the staff were amazing, food out in seconds, which was delicious. The wine, sparkling water, bread and dip, all of it was incredible. The truffle spaghetti and meatballs were to die for, while the tiramisu was melt in your mouth delicious. Would recommend to anyone!
Need more BC wines, particular reds. Calamari is really outstanding
Two out of three meals were good - beet salad and chicken salad. The veal scallopini was too well done, and the carrots were almost raw and difficult to cut. Overall ok.
Amazing Food and great service from Erica! I would definitely come back!!
Lots of natural light and windows galore. Soft comfortable upholstered chairs. Great pastas and salads. Prompt and professional service.
First time at Italian kitchen was a great experience! We shared the burrata platter and each had a pasta dish. The service was quick and outstanding and the food was also very quick, but fresh, tasty and a bit different than your average Italian fare.
