Italian Kitchen - Vancouver
The food and atmosphere were really good. The price was expensive but worth it. Only complaint I have is that it was really cold in the restaurant, which was kind of distracting. Other than that everything was wonderful
They have moved locations, not a fan at all
Of the new spot and the menu has changed as well. Would not recommend!
Unfortunately, we were looking forward to dinner after our show on Feb 14th.
Did not realize there was but one menu for Valentines , with a few options.
$85 a head plus $40 each for wine pairing. Appetizer was good, main course lacked seasoning and the fish was slightly overcooked while the potatoes were slightly under cooked.
Dessert was ok. Over all, for the price, disappointing.
Don't know if we would go again.
Lovely Valentines dinner. Food was delicious and there was lots of it!
was greeted in a timely manner, staff were nice and efficient. their pasta is quite good. i can not say they are better than what i have tried in Boston and New York city but they are definitely better than a lot of Vancouver restaurants.
Too much overhead lighting which took away from the ambiance.
We got to the restaurant and the reservation could not be found however we quickly seated. Our waiter Jessie was very personable and knowledgeable about the food. I had the Blue plate ricotta and spinach tortellini which were excellent, just the right bite. My husband had Spaghetti Bolognese which he said was great with a little spice. We enjoyed glasses of the house red which was a nice Italian red. We don't have dessert but I was intrigued buy plates of white balls that went by. Jessie explained that these were a kind of Italian doughnut and I was sold. My husband had the chocolate cake, a lovely layered dessert. Coffee was really nice and went perfectly with the wonderful rich desserts.
Birthday of Fiancée
We had outstanding service and food was unbelievable. Some of the best pasta we have had in a long time.
Having been before we thought it was an easy choice to bring our guests from out of town. Unfortunately I have food allergies and my meal came out as it is on the menu with allergens present. And another in our groups meal dod not come for quite some time after everything else. The food was good and they did take care of the forgotten meal... The room is great and food decent so hopefully a one off experience.
Beautiful setting and ambiance. Food was ok but not fantastic like expected. Calamari appetizer was deep died and bland, like average pub style food. It used to be served pan fried was was the best I’d ever had anywhere on three previous occasions eating here. The description in the menu is very limited so impossible for us to have known it changed. The waiter explained that menu items change presentation every few months. I wondered if the restaurant had changed hands
Mains were fine, mine was good, a ravioli pasta dish, my husband’s was just ok. Tirasimu desert was excellent.
Overall it was a bit disappointing. The biggest issues were the noise level, very loud on a Friday night. Second, is our own fault. I had chosen a wine around $50. The waiter returned with a glass of different wine for me to try. It was fine and we agreed to that one instead. Then, we decided to order grappa. I asked the waiter to choose and he did. It was excellent
The final bill was $275
Wine was $75, and the grappa each was $23. Outrageous and ultimately we felt taken advantage of. Our own fault but never again
Dined on a busy Friday night, service was quick and fairly efficient. Drinks were a little slow. Food came out at a reasonable pace and was very good. I wouldn't go if I was in a hurry but we were not so had a lovely dinner that was well prepared and efficiently served. It was packed so quite a high ambient noise level that might be a problem if people in your party had hearing issues.
The pasta was wonderful, and service was exceptionally good. I would like to go back and try a different pasta some time soon.
It was my and my friend’s birthday. We had a *great* meal and the server brought us piece of tiramisu on the house that says happy birthday on the plate. I would go back in a second!
Fabulous birthday brunch with h quick service. Food was well presented and delicious ( eggs Benny, French toast) with such accommodating waiters. Even surprised our daughter with a birthday dessert...so special! Love Italian Kitchen!!!
Food was fabulous... service was good. We really enjoyed the whole experience... parking lot next door was so convenient and inexpensive, after being validated by the restaurant.
Our server forgot to bring us the wine pairing during the meal and then offered a “sorry not sorry” type of comment instead of an actual apology or at least take the cost off the bill.
We had a great time at the dineout. Me and my friends thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the wait staff was extraordinarily friendly. They did get one of our order's wrong, but it was rectified quickly. The desert was amazing. However, I can't say much for the wine pairings.
I made a reservation through open table, arrived at the restaurant only to be told they were closed for a private function. I'm not sure how Open Table can offer and confirm reservations to places not willing to honour those same reservations.
We had a great time. Food was good. I did mention we were celebrating my wife's 40th birthday when i reservation. I wasn't expecting a free dessert but maybe a candle in her dessert? Otherwise it was good.
Horrible Service. Had dinner at the Italian Kitchen with my girlfriend as a romantic night out. It was a busy Saturday night and the restaurant was very lively. The food was very good, but what ruined it was the service. In one word, rude.
The waiter was extremely rude, abrupt and seemed impatient. He did not explain the menu, made a snarky comment when I asked a question about the main course, and then during dinner dropped down the drinks and extra cutlery, rudely interrupted us, and just seemed to be annoyed.
We are not difficult customers and just smiled as the service just continued to be awful. At the end of the dinner, my girlfriend even politely asked him if he was really busy or having a difficult night. He replied no, everything was fine, so he obviously treats all customers like this.
Post Christmas get together among good friends 💜
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Highly recommend !
Amazing fresh pasta with fresh sauces, fish and meats. Try the prosciutto platter and the seafood pasta dish. Wines are reasonable and very good
A very enjoyable evening. Excellent food and a very knowledgeable server made for a great time.
Past dish was better than the crusted chicken. Reasonably expensive meal when drinks added.
Dinner was great all the way around! I would recommend this location!
I appreciated the flexibility with the menu. The cook gave me what I wanted, not what was on the menu. The cost was ok, not at all exorbitant.
Dine out menu, risotto exceptional, chicken perfectly cooked and dessert perfect.
The plate hit my elbow when our waiter placed it without an ‘excuse me’ or ‘sorry’. One of the
No room temperature sparkling water available. The carpaccio was ok. The spaghetti were not even to my standard. Services could had been better especiallyI’ll waiter. T
he placed it and hot my elbow shout could smile more and had refilled my guest’s hot water without me asking. Sit think I’ll go back again
Great atmosphere, great food, great service... loved it.
Awesome meal. Great ambiance and service.
Our waitress Candice was outstanding
Amazing food and service! Has an upscale feel with a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended the seafood linguine!
Portion of the starters are quite big, main dish is smaller but more refined, so overall well balanced menu. Everything was delicious. The special "dine out event" menu was a pleasant surprise, but prices on the regular menu are totally fair. Would absolutely recommend.
Seafood linguine was great but the portion size for the eggplant ravioli was disappointing. We were there during the worst snow storm of the year so they may have been short staffed. The food came out super quick but the server was really busy so we had to get her attention for water and the check.
Will try it again as our prior experience was much better.
When we arrived we were surprised to learn the heat had been out for 2 days and it was -5C outside. We would have left immediately but our friends were 20 minutes late and we’d been served some bread and had ordered tea to warm up. We should have just left on their arrival but didn’t. We had to wear our coats for the entire meal and the cutlery on the table was so cold we couldn’t touch it! The food was okay but nothing that we couldn’t make at home (and have) easily. Our friend advised the manager, after we’d finished and paid, that it would have been a very good customer service gesture to offer the patrons, on arrival, a nice warm cup of tea on the house. He offered at that point to take the 4 teas off the bill which had already been paid but that was it. Today a woman called to get our feedback on the dining experience and we told her all these same things. No offer of anything to make up for a waste-of-money (and time) lunch. Like a free coffee or whatever on our next meal.
The restaurant shouldn’t have been open!!
Quality food all the time
Love the Glowball Prod
Went for brunch - it was okay. Dinner is better. It was also quite empty but it was snowing so that could’ve been part of it. Will go back for dinner but probably not brunch.
