J. Alexander's - Redlands Grill – Peachtree Pkwy
Always one of our favorites but not up to par tonight.
Had to wait 5 minutes even with a reservation and arriving right on time. Table was sticky even though the wait was so they could clear the table. There were flies on the window at our table and ants kept appearing on my booth bench.
Prices have gone up since our last visit, $17 for a favorite salad now...dressing was pre-applied to both salads too generously. Thai Kai used to come with a peanut sauce that added needed flavor but appears that is no longer. The chicken used to be shaved, this time it was much different with a large face cut buried under dressed lettuce.
Diet Coke was basically water...weakest one I have had in years. At one point the server took my wife’s drink, presumably to provide a refill but one never arrived, all the way up until we left. The new Redlands Grill is definitely no J. Alexander’s. Sadly tonight might just be the last time we visit.
No, the steak came pre sliced which over cooked one side of the meat and dried it out. I mean who pre slices someone’s steak. For a $200 bill I at least expected meat to be properly cooked. I will not come back.
Overall very good experience. The food just wasn’t as good as we have had in the past. Had grouper special and it was good but not great, clam chowder same. Appetizers were very good. Calimari and deviled eggs.
Server Jordan is one reason we keep coming back. She anticipates what we need and takes care of special requests without us asking. Makes us feel sincerely welcome, like JAs is our place.
Another wonderful meal at Redlands. It's our favorite go to place ! Our Friday night special !
Each person had a different entree, from prime rib to tuna to chicken and more. Plenty of parking, gracious hostess. Relaxed atmosphere. Server maintained beverages well and touched base regularly. Entrees arrived together-great presentation! All dishes prepared as ordered, including rare prime rib. Comfortable atmosphere for conversation and business meeting. Rest rooms very clean as well. An excellent experience- one in a series with the same individuals, and there will be more to come.
Our best neighborhood go-to by far! My personal favorite is the tuna salad but the ribs are amazing too. The carrot cake is crazy good but its a very large and warm piece.
Our server anticipated our every need with charm and humor👍
We’re celebrating Father’s Day and had a great experience with food and our server. We’ll be back soon.
Normally the food is very good. However, 2 guests ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It had burnt stripes from the grill & was covered by the cheese & was also very dry.
These two guest had not eaten at the restaurant and they won’t be coming back. My cheeseburger & salad was great.
I was expecting the same flavorful steak as Stoney River. My whole party was greatly disappointed in the quality of the steak. No true good flavor. The service was fair but all the food in general was very mediocre for the price.
I go here for the steak Maui. The food is usually delicious but today my service was SO sub par, we had trouble enjoying the dining experience. Ugh.
All three of us felt neglected and the server was not often not aware of the menu offerings- she brought wrong items to wrong people and misquoted ingredients for the salad. It became comical.
We had to initiate every drink refill (iced tea) and her answer to everything was, “of course”. This came across as smug and indifferent. Kinda ruined our Father’s Day meal. For the price, you’d expect service to be better. : (
Good food and atmosphere. A little pricey. Great service and able to visit with family, noise level low.
All of our food was delicious! Great place and great food.
Desmond was a fabulous waiter
Had a reservation for seven. We were 30 minutes late. They were very accommodating. The server was delightful, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was outstanding. We possibly overstayed our time while visiting with folks we had not seen in a while but never felt hurried nor harassed. We will gladly be back for future visits.
We had another wonderful dinner at Redlands. Can't think of a better way to start out the Father's Day weekend for my wonderful husband ! Thank you !!!
Ordered the kale salad with chicken, what I got was a plate of spinach with chicken. This was the first time in all my years of dining at this restaurant, that I was disappointed. I do know kale from spinach
Great food and service. Would recommend to family and friends.
Quality service from the beginning to the end of our dining experience. Waiters were very attentive to our needs. The menu is simple and the food was excellent. Highly recommended for a business lunch.
Service by Terry was excellent. The special fish option was out of and wife made second choice which was very good. The Prime rib I ordered was good but not a great cut. Martinis were awesome.
Wow.... this has historically been a "go to" restaurant for us but this past Friday night's meal was NOT good. Specifically, my husband got the Steak Maui and the quality of the meat was horrible. We were just returning from business trips and were very tired after being away from home all week so we did not send the meal back as we should have. Really hope this is not a recurring issue here but not sure when we'll return either. REALLY disappointing for a historically nice place and for such an expensive meal.
Wait staff was exceptional!
We definitely recommend J. Alexander's - Redlands ! It's our favorite dining spot. Great food ! Great service ! Can't beat that !!!
We had a group a little larger than the reservation but the staff was very accommodating, quick and friendly.
One year cancer free!
We went for our anniversary and really had a great time. The food was really good. Steak cooked perfectly. The artichoke appetizer is still the best artichokes I’ve had. And it was really nice when they offered complimentary champagne for our anniversary celebration. All in all we just felt really warm and welcome. This is wonderful place to dine for all occasions.
I often order the ribs. The last 3 times I had them they were not hot, not warm, just room temperature. Knowing this, when I ordered, I told the waitress of my last experiences and asked her to have them served hot. Once again the ribs I received were only room temp. The ribs would be much tastier if they were hot. The side dishes were hot and tasty and the service was good.
Great food! Very tasty and good size portions! Service was very good! The atmosphere is relaxing! Very enjoyable -- we will definitely go back!
Just super as always !!! Our go to Friday night spot.
Always good food but need to figure out a way to contain noise level especially for guests seated in back by kitchen
Great food, great service, great restaurant. We come here about six times per year and have always had great memory making experiences. Jaimee, our server, is so very awesome and knowledgeable about the menu.
This is a great place for an upscale lunch. I took clients and they loved it. The food and service are always very consistently good.
The Gumbo is available on Wednesday. The shrimp perfectly cooked. I really want them to consider shrimp and grit , stone ground local grits , multiple colors of pepper, cajun sausage, heavy cream, the best sharp cheddar cheese, and spiced their special way.
Staff was engaging and sharp. Great meal with old friends covering a wide range of old guy stuff.
Make a point to try this shrimp gumbo. It's very good.
Service was inconsistent, but it wouldn't keep me from coming back. We all enjoyed the food, but I don't think the price necessarily matches the food + experience. The fries were delicious; shoe string and the right amount of crunch.
Wonderful food and service. Our server was extremely attentive, and the food was perfect. The cocktails were delicious.
Great staff , food excellent !! Did not disappoint !!!
It started with asking for water to drink with no lemon, came with lemon. this is in itself not consequential except it demonstrates how much our waitress paid attention to us.
The food was sub par for a high end restaurant such as this was, better food and price at a Longhorns actually. My wife's filet was cut in half and appeared as hockey puck like.
It took a while for the waitress to get to us for dessert choices which were a poor selection for a so called high end restaurant. The noise was very loud in a place that we expected to be a "fine dining" establishment.
Overall was a great disappointment for a place to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary.
Always s family favorite Love the deviled eggs and spinach queso
