Jack Astor's - Richmond Hill
Not big on change? Don’t worry! Juggy the Bartender is still here! Plus we kept the same great food that made us special- like our chicken fingers, which we’re pretty sure creates champions! Just ask Wendel Clark, Ben Johnson, Trish Stratus and Milos Raonic. They’ve been eating our chicken fingers for years. Who knows where they’d be without the Jack Astor’s balanced diet?
Get your butt down here right now!
Thursday - Saturday: 11:30am - 2:00am
Small portions for the price. Fries are the frozen type not fresh made, at least they taste like that. Place was not busy yet our server was running ragged as he tried to serve a large scattered it seemed, area. We sat in both, very tight fit between table and seat. A little to snug.
we went out - 4 friends for 6 o'clock Saturday dinner. Overall it was not bad, our waiter Justin was outstanding, very precise and attentive. The food was OK, but my friend's Caesar Salad was soggy - she did not eat more than 2 spoons/forks. Justin removed it from the bill after we mentioned it, even though we did not ask. Appetizers were the best: Golden Calamari and Lobster & Crab Dip. My friend's special Hogg Burger was very dry - I regret he did not mention, we could've asked to change it to another dish. Also were the fried onions, and whatever else was in it he said. My Con Carne Tacos were ok, a bit too small. ANother friend ordered chicken wings, he was ok with his order. After 7 they got super busy but it looked like the servers did their best and there was a happy buzz.
Servers were attentive despite the crowds. Food was good, good recommendations too
Friendly and great service for a team business lunch!
Our waiter rob was excellent and the food was great
Food was mostly cold and it was diff
Great place to have an affordable dinner with family and friends. Staff was very friendly and polite!
Very chewy steak frites. Service was great, atmosphere really nice. Food was a bit subpar.
The hostess was incredibly rude and soiled our dining experience. The waiter was awesome but the unnecessary attitude from the hostess overpowered the visit.
I loved our time there! We had a great waitress that made our experience great!
garlic bread just doesn't have any garlic, only has a pool of butter in the basket
the calamari has no seasoning.
pasta was ok, rice bowl was ok, my friend has the "special" feature for the superfood bowl or whatever it called, like poke bowl with shrimp, portion is so small that doesn't worth $20.
the best dish we have probably the wings. Drinks was not bad. I guess it is really just go there for the drink as a pub/bar but not for food.
We always go here because it is loud enough to drown out our kids but not too loud to bother us or anyone else.
Great food and craft beer menu. The staff are very friendly. Ask for Brooke at the bar. Great service.
great service & great tasting food as well. One of our favourite restaurants in the area.
It was amazing. Great service.
made a reservation two weeks ago to watch the World Cup final game. On the day they told me there were no seating inside, only patio are available for walk in clients, feels like 40 degrees outside. The manager didn’t apologize or say anything about cancelling our reservation. Never going back again. Very Disappointed.
Rob was amazing!!
Perfect for our purpose. Two couples planning a trip. I’d requested a booth and we got one. Plenty of space for brochures and chatter.
Brad served us well. Not rushed, we got all we wanted as we wanted it.
The food was good. The drinks were good and the prices reasonable.
Greeted in the parking lot, upon arrival, we were directed to free parking, avoiding being ticketed. Nice.
My family and I were visiting Canada from the US and stopped for dinner. Everything was great, from the food and drinks to the service! We will definitely return here again if/when we are in the area next.
The service was horrible. Dishes weren’t cleared for a very long time, waiter did not check on our table of 8, part of the meal came out 25 minutes after everything else. Very disappointed. Will not be going back anytime soon.
Very busy and loud when we arrived. Parking was crazy and I slightly resent that I am told where I have to park or pay 5 dollars to park a much more walkable distance to the restaurant than the major walk from where I had to-park in designated blue lined space.
Our waitress was lovely and very positive and attentive. Food was a little cold.
Not impressed with our waiter. Not very friendly and service was very slow (restaurant was not busy). No refills on our drinks and took forever to place our order.
We sat at the patio on a lovely sunny warm lazy Sunday afternoon for lunch with a group of girlfriends. Enjoyed the fishbowl drinks and the food. Our server was helpful and suggested the new healthy options.
Very good and quick service...we were with kids. But, The beer was warm and the food was cold!
Great service. Good variety on the menu. Good for beer and drinks as well.
Our server, Justin, is a funny, courteous and confident professional waiter. He ensured all our needs were met and exemplified the ambassadorship for his company, Jack Astor’s. Therefore, with wonderful tasting, and well proportioned food, we highly recommend this fine restaraunt to all.
Thank you so much!

Chicken parm was dry. Pasta should have red sauce instead of cream sauce to go with the chicken parm. Portion was a bit small.
My table mate and I enjoyed our meals. However, the adjacent table had very loud and noisy customers.
Arrived with reservation
Waited almost 45 minutes for our table for 4
Seems as if they seated the ones in the waiting area without reservations first while we were forgotten while we waited at the bar
Received a table for 8 and had to share it with another couple ( complete strangers)
Hostess was rude. Server was lovely. Food was SO GROSS, which I’m not used to because I’ve always loved Jacks.
I was disappointed because I booked reservations for my kids and I to take my husband out to celebrate his birthday and I informed them of this when I booked. They did nothing to acknowledge his birthday. I was very disappointed by this. Will not go there again for a celebration.
Went to Jack Astor’s to meet up with some friends. My son and I both got steak....needed more seasoning and was bland at best. Calimari was ok but mainly due to dipping sauces. My other kid had the chicken Parmesan and said the breast was ok but nothing to write home about. Overall was an ok experience. Nice restaurant. Wait staff was pleasant and did a good enough job. Even though I wasn’t expecting a gourmet meal....food was a little weak.
Excellent meal and our server Rachel was fantastic!!!
It is exactly what you would expect from a Jack Astors. It is not fancy, loud, slightly over priced, but you know what you are going to get.
It was a very nice lunch with friend's and our server Courtney was very nice and informative on the menu items.
Open table reservation didn’t work, had to wait for a table
Last time I'm going. Food is not memorable and not good value for money. Entrees are $15-$20 for nothing special such as rice bowls. Salads were very expensive too. We were there for a special occasion ..would only go back for dessert...donuts are really good to share for the group.
Good food server was friendly; a little loud inside but could just be the obnoxious drunk female at the table beside us..... steak and pad Thai were really good
Very happy with the waitor, food and we could sit as long as we wanted and we're not bothered. Also the noise was not too loud.
This is the best jack Astor’s. all of the servers are great and the food is outstanding. The new epic cheeseburger and crispy chicken sandwich are great.
