Jack Astor's - Toronto (Shops at Don Mills)
In all seriousness, we take real pride in our food. Try our Cluckin’ Fresh Chicken Fingers, made and seasoned with fresh, never frozen chicken tenders. This isn’t run-of-the-mill pub grub. Our Band of Chefs are influenced by a wide variety of tastes and have travelled across the globe to gain inspiration.
But outside of the kitchen, we find it hard to take ourselves seriously. We have an Elvis booth. For no particular reason. Folks, that really does say it all. We’re sports fanatics, music nuts and love a good joke. If you’re into at least one of those things, we should hang out.
Server was nice and energetic, but my food tasted mouldy
Took forever to get our order in and the bill.
Things used to be much better.
It was a really nice experience! The food and service was great!
Great food and a great atmosphere, always have a great time and feel welcome
The food was awful. I actually had a processed cheese slice on my sandwich.
Always consistent quality service, food and experience.
Food and service was great as usual at this location.
Chicken came out not thoroughly cooked so was sent back. Nd they brought a new one and took care of it off the bill.
Our waiter had such a great sense of humour ! Lots of fun!!
Great Service, great server, very friendly atmosphere! Only complaint was the fries were luke warm when we got them.
The restaurant said that they do not have table for us even though I booked through open table. They said that they are full. Then after some time, the hostess said I will put you as it were my mistake
Soup was warm :((. Service was good Kevin the server. Beer was expensive relative to other similar restaurants.
Food quality and service was poor.
Overall the experience was great. We had a great server. She was knowledgable friendly. Engaged in conversation. The restaurant was busy. It was a Saturday night and a leaf game was on. Lots of birthday parties. It was Good atmosphere. Overall it was a very good. Just found pricing was a little bit high
It was a decent experience after being seated my only complaint is we had a reservation but had to still wait 15 minutes for a table which is obnoxious.. and no one explained what was going on. There were clearly seats and the staff was disorganized. I’ve never had a problem like that when already having a reservation it just set a negative tone.
Disappointed in the service. We were a table of 2 and did stay quite a while, but finished plates were left a very long time. Waitress did not come by for long periods of time - even when we were ready to go.
I had the Caesar salad with chicken and the chicken was good, left all the salad, wilted and tasteless.
Great for catching a game, hanging out with friends or just want a good meal and drinks. Always good service.
Great consistent experience at Jack Astors. the serving staff are well trained and are good at their jobs. I go here regularly.
We have gone to other jack astors and we love the chicken fingers.
This location served us well done chicken fingers twice as we returned the first ones.
We didn’t want to send it back a second time as we have young kids who were hungry.
When I was at the restaurant, I have been told my friend had just arrived. I asked them where he is however the waitress told me to just go inside and find him myself. I was hoping someone could lead the way to our seat instead of having me searching the whole restaurant myself.
In addition, we were supposed to watch the Raptors game at the restaurant. But we are being seated at the corner of the restaurant with a small TV 10 feet away from us.
* Tasty Food
* Waitress that serves us provides good services.
* Good location with plenty of Parking
Food was terrible.
Way too noisy.
Won’t be back at dinner time.
Good service though.
Customized a meal to my special requirements.
Great server and staff team! Food was great as usual!
Good size food portions for a price you would expect. Server was friendly and smiled.
Excellent staff excellent service! Great atmosphere and staff was very patient.
Always have a pleasant experience at Jack Astor's .... my favorite homemade chicken fingers keeps me coming back over and over....!!!!! Love the promotions as well....gift card of a discounted $15 if spend $40 is quite attractive.....too bad it ends October 31st.
Had a wonderful time, courteous and attentive servers, was greeted with a smile and my reservation was honoured and noted on the table/in their system - they made sure to read my comments when I reserved and food was great! Drinks were on the strong side, so great value there! Haha.
One more enjoyable Saturday night for me and my significant other at Jack Astor’s Don Mills. Booked a table for two almost two hours before showing up. Arrived on time and in a couple of minutes our table was ready. Justin was very professional and polite, despite his double shift. Friendly and fast, he made sure that we were being accommodated in an efficient manner. It’s the people that make a difference. Never forget that.
This was the first date with my wife in months. Our reservation at Joey was very delayed and my wife was starving so we decided to go to Jack Astor’s instead. Enormous Mistake!
We started guacamole. Make sure to take the stems of the avocado out of the guacamole. My wife chomped on 2. Disgusting!
We had burgers as the main. The burgers were missing toppings. My wife’s was raw (and she’s pregnant) so we had to send this back. It took 30 minutes to get her burger the 2nd time and it was charcoal. Is it possible to cook a burger completely through for a pregnant woman without it tasting like you are eating stones? How long should it take to get the burger the second time?
The ambiance was fine but the food was terrible. Seemed like a good family targeted place.
Pricey, and many waitstaff cater to the under 30 crowd (crazy obvious at times, especially at the bar). But my overall good-to-excellent rating stands. Very reliable. Food always good. Loads of drinks to choose from. Sometimes very good music on. And a neat way to heat good Cognac? Oh yeah.
Looking forward to my next visit to try something new on the menu...however my all time favorite are the homemade chicken fingers!!!! Delicious!!!!
Fresh food. Large portions. Reasonably priced. Excellent service (birthday song and all!)
4 stars? seriously? The patio looked appetizing so we decided to try it against my many misgivings.
I was dying for a nice plate of fajitas but they came non-sizzling with the (5 small strips of) chicken simultaneously overcooked and not warm-- how is that even possible? My wife's tuna rice bowl had the sauce painted on the side of the bowl but every component within was off: the tuna under-seasoned, the rice under-cooked, a bunch of sliced ginger and quinoa to imitate an asian dish thrown in but the worst was the painter had forgotten to add sauce to the bowl. (Presumably a teenager in the kitchen being paid the new minimum wage...)
Well you live and learn when you randomly try restaurants, but in general, the shops on don mills is a wasteland for good food with the exception of Joeys which is up and down...
But who are the people here who gave this 4 stars? Painter, was it you?
The service we received on our last visit (Friday, Aug. 10 645pm, Don Mills) was excellent. The waitress was very well informed & friendly. Food was very good. (They should make the Quesadillas a main!) Ambience was loud, but hey - it's a family restaurant!
Great food and service. Great for midweek dining. Great salads.
Always Great service in the bar area . Thanks !
Pad Thai bowl is tasty!
Service was the worst I’ve ever had.
Ended up having two more than what we had reserved. Restaurant was very accommodating! Really appreciate the service and food!
Only downside was the parking issue...but we knew about that in advance and didn’t mind walking from the parking garage.
The ambience was just with right lighting but the friendly serving staff made it easy to relax and feel comfortable
