Restaurants in Alsace traditionally have a formal main dining room as well as a casual dining room known locally as a weinstube or brasserie. At the brasserie, diners may enjoy traditional, hearty Alsatian dishes in a warm and relaxing atmosphere. These friendly establishments are immensely popular with Alsatians and visiting them is always the best part of my trips back to Alsace. I opened Jacques' Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez François to bring the tastes and comforts of the Alsatian brasserie to Great Falls.

    We have been dining a few times per year at Chez Francois and Jacques' Brasserie for about 35 years. As always we all found our meals yesterday in the pavilion at the Brasserie to be excellent.

    We were celebrating our anniversary. I booked the table at least two weeks ahead. Our table was next to a giant humidifier and the door...even though there was a two top available closer to the center. Our waiter was wonderful and the pace was very nice until they tried to pick up my plate twice before I was finished. They were hovering and rushing-not sure why? My Caesar salad for 18$ was average at best. My Crab Cake for 47$ consisted of also one very average CC, 6 green beans, 1/4 golden beet and 1/4 carrot. My husband had the Halibut Special and said it was very good. His oysters however were small and very so-so. He had two glasses of wine. I got the cream Brûlée-served warm 🙄. They did give us an anniversary dessert-maybe the best thing besides the Halibut. Our dinner-200$ without tip. Will not be returning.

    Great food in a nice bistro setting. A bit noisy but we had a largish group nearby so I guess it would normally be better. The prix fixe menu which naturally had fewer choices than the restaurant upstairs and enough selection for us to choose different things and the fixed price was fair. I’ll be back even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.

    Between Chef’s exquisite food, and Dany and Marlon’s expert treatment of their diners, what other review can you give them than 5 stars? I enjoyed yet again the pleasure of introducing new friends to an old favorite!

    The food and service were both impeccable. The Roquefort salad was delicious as was the halibut served Oscar style. Highly recommend but very pricey.

    Lobster was tough. Lobster sauce different from what I remember. Oysters ok, but better at another restaurant. Grand marnier Soufflé was great
