Jake's Downtown is and has been located in the heart of downtown Billings in the historic Grand Building since 1979, making it one of the longest standing restaurants in Billings. Jake's Downtown has been recognized for years by the community as an award winning, casual fine dining establishment that is woman owned and managed. Jake's is known for our mouthwatering steaks, especially our Prime rib (get it while it lasts) beautiful seasonal salads, and a wide selection of casual fare that will not leave you disappointed.     Jakes Downtown in Billings, Mt was a delightful dining experience. From the reservation through Open Table working topnotch, the Hostess seating us a our table, which was already set up with water and settings in a great location. The waiter was very professional but wonderfully friendly, giving us the history of this location, started in the late 1970's. He shared the nightly features, and answered our questions about items of our interest. We selected the New York Strip steak with baked potato, ,medium rare with blue cheese and balsamic. Cooked to perfection, so very tender with a great flavor. Potato was hot and huge. The dinner salads for both of us delightfully cold and crisp with dressings made in their kitchen. My wife selected the coconut shrimp. Huge portion, freshly prepared, perfect sauce to dip in. Sweet and spicy flavors that completed the selection. This is a "don't miss" location.

    No fresh bread loaf offered; no fresh ground pepper offered for salads. These are things we have come to expect at Jake’s. Butter Cake less than half the size it used to be…. What’s going on?
