Jamie's Italian - Yorkdale
Whether you’re grabbing a bite to eat in the cozy bar to refuel after shopping, meeting for a business lunch or a family meal before a movie, Jamie’s Italian is the perfect spot.
Team culture among staff is "fend for yourself"
Food was good not great
Service was poor
When speaking to manager about multiple issues - including no one clearing our plates away - she said I'm sorry and walked away... Without taking our plates away either!
Culture comes from the top...
Really pathetic menu and poor value for the money
Superfood salad was disappointing but practically all I could find on the menu that wasn’t a bunch of processed food pasta or cold cuts
Noisy atmosphere with loud music
Very difficult to have a conversation
Not that busy and seems like The only people going there couldn’t get into Cheesecake Factory
If you are planning on going for summerlicious don’t! They modify the dishes to give smaller portions - and the regular price basically adds up to the summerlicious price anyway. Food is decent but not outstanding.
It was an amazing experience. I went to my wife and son to celebrate my birthday and the employee Paul took care of us and definitely it was perfect.
Thank you so much for the way that you connect with customers.
The carbonara pasta for the summerlicious menu was'not good.
The waiter was great. As always, the food was Tasty.
The server was rude and the food was mediocre at best. I will never return.
First time and had a wonderful experience with the Summerlicious 2019 lunch menu! The seafood soup, porcini fettuccini and gelato trio were to die for delish! Our server, Jerome was fantabulous, knowledgeable and had great recommendations. Will definitely be back soon!
Went for Summerlicious prix fixed lunch.
A good variety choices. Impressed with the fact they were willing to adjust a dish--fried ravioli appetizer--because I don't do well with spicy. Food was delicious and the service very good. Because of this positive experience would return for their regular menu.
Great food, great service
easy to book a reservation on Open Table as there was an immediate response. Greeted in a friendly manner upon arrival and immediately seated in an area of our choice. Our order was taken in a timely manner as we were given sufficient time to look over the menu. Food portions were substantial and tasty.
Great experince at Jaimie’s Italian during Summerlicious 2019. The service was fast and cheerful through seating and all 3 courses. We had the Beef Carpaccio and Margherita Arancini , both were delicious. For mains we had Chicken Al Mattone and Tagliatelle Bolognese , both were amazing and too much to eat . We took some home. For desserts , we had Panna Cotta and Tiramisu . These were beautifully prepared and a big serving. For drinks , we had Ginger Mohito and lemonade, very refreshing. Service was prompt but not obtrusive. Prices were ok for Summerlicious, would be much higher for a regular meal.
They did a great job of providing accessible seating to my family, and the food for their Summerlicious menu was awesome. We'll definitely be coming back.
The food and ambiance were both pretty good but our waiter was very inattentive. We decided to go to this location because my friends had been there before and previously had a pleasant experience. We booked on Opentable thinking that it may be busy since we were there around 1pm. We show up and the restaurant was pretty much empty, no issue there. As we walk in there were four greeters at the door...they were so busy messing with the screen at the check-in counter that no one actually greeted us or acknowledged that we were there until one of them finally “saw” us standing there. The waiter must have been overworked because we had to ask two other staff members if they could get him, even then it took him a while to get back to our table. We were planning on ordering dessert however it took him 15+min to get the menu. Needless to say, we waited another 15min just to get our check and then another 10+min to pay because the card readers were not linking to the network. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, but this location could definitely work on their customer service.
The experience at Jamie Oliver was okay. The server was attentive and very polite.
The ambience, everything was locked up - like it felt like they were protecting their goods, as if people were going to steal! It felt quite odd, they had nice items to display, but having it behind a lock and key, made it feel like we shouldn’t even look at it.
The food was served in three courses - the appetizer was delicious, lots of flavour and just a great start to the meal. The entrée was meh, my carbonara was warm, not hot, warm. It was not pleasant. It definitely tasted much better, having it a second time around (microwaved). The dessert was plentiful and such a delight!
Overall, the experience was okay and this is the second time - I’ve been to Jamie Oliver’s restaurant. So, it’s a definite maybe for the next time.
Ordered the beef carpaccio to start. It was a bit too oily and the beef a bit too thick. Followed up with the chicken salad which was okay, but should have been warmer. And finished off the meal with a panna cotta, which was also okay. Overall it was an average meal. The service was too slow considering the restaurant was half empty. The water glasses were rim down when we arrived and stuck to the table which has a strange sticky feeling.
I have been here many times and enjoy the food
I made a reservation to celebrate my 50th birthday and was VERY put off when told my dinner was limited to 90 minutes because Summerlicious was on.
I would not have made a reservation there.
I will have to think about ever returning
Upscale looking restaurant but comfortable in casual attire. Food was well portioned and summerlicious menu had great options to try and share.
Had a fantastic Summerlicious lunch. Really a great deal.
The appetizer was great but the pizza was burnt round the edges and luke warm in the middle. It was hard to cut into the pizza. The did make me a fresh pizza which was o.k. The dessert Panno Cotto was excellent. I would have expected better for the main course from Jamie’s Italian restaurant.
AWESOME restaurant. The food is always amazing as are the drinks and the service is always incredible. If you want a warm, welcoming, and relaxed place to eat this is the place to be! If I lived closer I'd come here weekly!!
Not worth a destination trip but but great compared to other mall restaurants.
Overall every dishes taste good, include dessert. Plates display are rough. Lower the food value.
Our waiter was nice, friendly but very very slow.
Sticky toffee pudding is a must! Delicious food and a good selection of healthy options. A bit on the pricy side, but worth it. The food is actual food cooked to order not just frozen slop from a bucket like you get in so many chain restaurants now. I hope they stay open even after the European locations close.
Definitely wasn't what I'd expected. Looks like a roadhouse inside as opposed to an Italian restaurant. Service was very slow and our waiter didn't have many tables. Food was ok but not great. Don't plan to go again.
The reception was the worst service experience at Jamie's. Very cold and who cares attitude. Acknowledged we had a reservation and even though the restaurant was almost empty were taken to a small table for two in the middle of a row of booths. Soon as we saw the small table I asked if we could be seated at a table with more room. After a look of disgust we were walked back to the entrance and seated at a round table right behind the reception desk so everyone entering or leaving the restaurant had to walk by our table. During our stay at the restaurant many tables for four remained empty. When we tried to pick up our menus they were stuck to the table making a sound as you pried them up off the table. Our server assured us the table was indeed clean but just needed to be varnished. I have never experience unfinished wood to be that sticky. With that part behind us I can say that our server and her trainee were excellent. They both were very pleasant and vigilant and helpful with the menu choices as my daughter has sever peanut allergies. Food was very good.
So, once you get past the front desk experience and sticky table it is a great restaurant.
I had lunch with a friend and I ordered carpaccio....it came without parmesan cheese, literally 10 or less arugula leaves and no glazed balsamic. I pointed it out to the waitress and she proceeded to grate cheese on my dish rather than taking it back and having shaved parmesan....no reference back to the menu or attempt to correct the order. I did not make an issue of it but I did call in to let them know...the manager was suppose to call me back and never did. First time there and will probably be my last....despite how much I adore Jamie Oliver.
It looked like they were understaffed. No offence to the waitress I know she has a hard job to do.. but she didn’t even ask us what we would like to drink and rushed to take our orders. We asked for recommendations on food and didn’t give any. The food was very average. I went there for my boyfriends birthday and it ruined the whole experience. The restaurant looked good though!
Bolegnese sauce was oily. The nocchi was oily, only received 7, steak over cooked, restaurant not bad, great service
Our group of 7 including 3 kids was pleased to be seated on a Sunday afternoon, guven that the other restaurants in the mall had 1 hour + long waits. Many heathy menu options but value does not seem great. Paid $27 for the fried cod main served with tomatoes and croutons but the portion of cod was way too small to justify the cost. It was delicious, but I ended up eating the lefovers from my daughters' plates to fill up!
The pizza crust under two slices was burnt black and inedible
Food was tasty and portions were just right.
Our table was kind of sticky.
Service was pleasant.
Jamie’s Italian is a hidden secret at Yorkdale. I always find a seat to eat. I’m also not picky so I’ll eat at the high tables or bar. There are no screens so expect to interact with your dining party and your food. Most of the menu is pasta and pizza. They do have mains like burgers, steak etc. Most people seem to order pizza or pasta. My dining companion is a vegetarian who eats dairy who is able to find a pizza or pasta every time. The food is delicious. I like the pasta with clams and there are very few places in Toronto that I trust to make this dish. I’m always afraid of getting sick and I never get sick after Jamie’s.
SERVICE WAS AMAZING. I PARTICULARLY DIDNT LIKE THE PASTA I ORDERED WHICH WAS THE CASARECCE CARBONARA. I WAS GOING TO ORDER THE STEAK BUT I FIGURED SINCE I WAS AT AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT, I MIGHT AS WELL GET PASTA. I SHOULD'VE STUCK WITH THE STEAK. SORRY
The bartender told my partner that last call was going to be in a half an hour when he arrived at 8:45 for the raptors game....I arrived at 9:45 and of course they were still serving until the game ended. He immediately wanted to leave because he knew he was being lied to. I’ll be coming for the bar rail special but besides that we won’t bother .
We made an early reservation for my mother-in-law’s birthday. We received excellent service from everyone. They ensured we got a table near the washroom. All of the food was delicious except one thing. My mother-in-law ordered pasta carbonara and it was very runny and watery. Definitely not what we expected. Something to work on.
We had a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and ordered soup as a starter, to be told about 20 minutes later that the soup was sold out and if we waited about 1/2 hour more, a different soup would be available. We then chose a different starter. Food was just mediocre. We will not be returning.
Great food, nice atmosphere had a great time oh did I mention great food!
Food was delicious. Waiter from Newcastle was very friendly and took care of us. Will come back for sure
