Service took forever. We waited over 45 for drinks. We were seated for over an hour before being served dinner. We love JCT and will go back, unfortunately, they couldn’t get it together!! Many people around us were experiencing the same thing.
Client dinner and a wonderful experience!
Birthday celebration and great time
Always amazing comfort food, cocktails, and service!
I often take client's to JCT for business lunches, however, I love this place so much we often go for happy hour and dinner. The food is delicious and creative. I would recommend this place for any occasion.
There were 6 of us. We were taken to a table right by the server’s station and by a door leading outside where there were diners. We asked for another table away from the station and door so it would be a little quieter. It was 1:45 so the restaurant was very open. The server/floor manager was a little perturbed and tried to sell us on the original table. We politely asked if they could put a few tables together in another area. She did so but then when we thanked her, she wouldn’t look at us or even respond. She filled water and dropped the menus down. Then when our friends arrived deviled eggs and truffle fries arrived at the table. I thought it was a very nice offering to us and we thoroughly enjoyed them! We enjoyed our lunch and spoke enthusiastically about State Of Grace opening in Austin and another opening in Nashville as our friends are from Austin and moving this summer to Nashville. When our check arrived we were charged for the fries and deviled eggs that we didn’t even order. We payed and left but it didn’t sit well with us. The woman that had them delivered to our table was no longer on the clock so we didn’t feel comfortable about asking our server about them in front of our guests. Anyway, this is a very long story! Will we go back to JCT? Absolutely!!! We love it! It was just an unfortunate experience but it didn’t ruin our lunch.
I'll start by say we love JCT. We probably eat there at least once every couple of weeks. Heck, I was there on Friday for lunch with my daughter. This Sunday supper was not the best. The pasta in the mac and cheese was wayyyy overcooked. The flavor was excellent but the pasta was so mushy it was almost like mashed potatoes. The shrimp and scallop etoffee was also not the best. A bit on the bland side. But the service was great as usual and the rest of the dishes were good. The fried chicken is always a good bet and the roasted root veggies were excellent.
JCT kitchen has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The ambiance is of an old time restaurant set back in the 30's-40's.. with a coastal flair. The food here does not disappoint, and their fried chicken is some of the best in ATL. My husband and I dined here on Sunday, where they offered their "Sunday Supper" which is a prix fixe menu. We started with the biscuits & apple butter, then moved on to the Deviled eggs which had a nice dijon mustard yolk. That also included a salad which a medley of butter lettuce, pickled vegetables and a sweet vinaigrette dressing. We also each had a cocktail, my husband opting for the "Hunger Talk" which proceeds benefit hunger in the atlanta homeless community. I got the Top Side, but later on also got a Hungr Talk. It appears that drink is not always on their regular menu, but the Top Side is. For entree's my husband got the famous fried chicken and boy we can see why! I got the shrimp and scallop etouffee, similar dish to their traditional shrimp and grits.. but served over rice instead. For the sides we had the macaroni and cheese, duck fat aioli fingerling potatoes & the winter vegetables.. all delicious. For dessert we had the passion fruit tart.. which is not a normal dessert option, but was very light and refreshing. I highly highly recommend JCT, we will for sure be back for more!
We had an 8:45 pm reservation, but not seated till 9:30... it’s truly unfortunate since I’m a Ford Fry fan... Ultimately Winny our server made the rest of our experience tolerable, but the front of house needs desperate training.
Please note that the more you state the term “my apologies” over and over again without a resolution to the problem can potentially damage the relationship between you and the inconvenienced customer. Listen, emphasize and resolve the issue is my suggestion to your front of house staff.
I can’t imagine dining at JCT again for quite some time to be honest for that embarrassing situation will stay with me for a bit.
I do however appreciate the recovery efforts.
The food was delicious!! Lauren, our server, was AMAZING!!! Her menu suggestions were spot on!! The coconut rum cake for dessert is a must have!!
