    The place has changed over the years for the not so good. There were people storming out screaming rude things at the top of their lungs, telling people not eat there again and the more people took in the drinks the more rowdy it became. Not the scene I was looking for

    Service was terrible. Food didn’t come out together. One person didn’t get his food and had to get it to go when it eventually arrived. They had major difficulties splitting checks for our group of just 8. Food temperature was warm, not hot. I will not go there again.

    Good food, bar atmosphere and excellent service. The charming friendly staff MAKE this place. The smoked chicken ravioli with corn and bacon is excellent. Steak salad well executed with perfectly cooked steak. Would expect a better beer and wine selection to match the food - it’s very limited. But we’ll be back!

    The service was excellent! Our servers, Fifi and Shelley were were very friendly and helpful! The food was a complete miss though. It was a breakfast buffet that you would find at a low budget hotel but even lower quality. Not a great value overall.

    The chicken marsala and the funky pizza were delicious! Also enjoyed the crab dip and pita chips. Definitely will visit again soon! Our waitress was friendly and efficient.

    Trevor was an excellent server! This was our first visit to Jimmy V’s, and it definitely will not be our last! Food was delicious, hot, and Trevor was extremely attentive to our needs.

    It is an excellent place to catch up with colleagues during our conference. The waitstaff, bartender, and host were all fantastic. We will definitely be returning soon.

    Restaurant was decorated nice. Service was good. The big issue was the food. Calamari and shrimp was over cooked and steak was tough. The best thing was the crab dip.

    Food was good, but not amazing and the service was lacking. It was my daughter's 21st birthday. We had made a reservation week ago. Our server was obviously tired even though it was 6:30 pm on a Wednesday night. We ordered dessert for our daughter and the server brought it and noted that no candles/matches could be found. She also said they would normally sing to her, but there were not enough people working. It was disappointing and we will not be going back.

    Unfortunately, there weren’t many wait staff or seating, even though we had reservations. However, they worked diligently to help take care of us amidst those obstacles. When they ran out of gluten free pizza crust options, they expedited alternative menu choices to serve us. Tabitha was a wonderful, friendly waitress.

    Came here for graduation celebration with family. Service was fine, however food was disappointing. Calamari was super rubber band alike. Chicken sandwich was incredibly dry, should have sent back all three. Clearly a location lack from consistent employees. Wish we had gone somewhere else for a special celebration.

    Kind of disappointing honestly. Food was average at best. We sat on the patio and homeless people come up and bother you which probably makes me sound awful but it was uncomfortable. I won’t go back because of the food though. Nothing special at all.

    The food was pretty good. The menu is very limited. The only issue there was that the entrée that the 2 of us were going to order was not available. I know, supply chain . . . The waitress was either MIA or she was in our faces trying to take the plates before we were done and take the check before I was sure of the cash I was leaving. This was my first visit since the pandemic. I probably won't go back anytime soon.

    Pizza on Saturday was not able to be made. Our food was terrible. I ordered chicken Marsala. Potatoes were very cold, chicken was fried and cold. Not even room temperature…cold! My husband got ravioli and his was cold and the flavor was bad. Service was ok at first but once the meal was served, seemed like we were forgotten. I realize there were prom tables coming in, but honestly it still was not busy in there. I was very disappointed.

    This is just not a good restaurant. I’m not sure what the hotel where it is located in pays the Valvano family for the rights to the name, but the family should be embarrass to be associated with this place.

    I’m not sure how the quality of food could be so much lower than the reviews, but maybe it was a change in chef or new menu. Starting with the good. The place is large, tables are well spaced, and noise level allows for you to easily have conversations. Also, the bar drink was delicious. Sadly, I think there were only two other tables, likely because word has travelled on the food. We ordered two appetizers - the risotto balls were okay and the meatballs were not bad, but not good - coming from an a Italian family it tastes like they used too much sausage and not enough breadcrumbs. For the meals we ordered two pizzas the club sandwich and the steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was good - according to my 15 year old - the club was okay - the fries were the best part of the meal…and the two pizzas were inedible. Someone they burnt the edges without the bottom being able to cook - and the crust for both was so salty not even a 16 year old kid who eats EVERYTHING would eat more than one slice. As for service - the food was brought out fast - and our drinks were refilled but we had to get another waiter to grab our check after waiting for a bit. To give the benefit of the doubt - the menu on OpenTable is different than the one they have in store - so maybe they are trying new things…but if that’s the case they should definitely go back to the drawing board and get some consistency on the type of quality you can expect in Downtown Raleigh.

    Great selection of pub style food, with great portion sizes, including a large ribeye steak. Pizzas and sandwiches were terrific, and service was very good. Our server Trevor was top rate!

    Petty basic menu, I thought there would be more pasta dishes. But the food was good, the service was very friendly and attentive. Cool place, good prices for the food and drink. I would definitely come back if I am in town.

    Wonderfully relaxed dinner of delicious food, ice cold beverages, and superbly attentive service. Never been disappointed at Jimmy V’s and this time was no exception. A mainstay when dining in Downtown Raleigh!!

    We stopped during a road trip as the restaurant was next to our hotel. It was right after the New Year and so was very quiet. I expect the noise level would be higher during a regular business night. Service was attentive. Food came quickly. The meatballs were amazing!
