The ambiance is crowdy and noisy. The restroom is incommodious. I told my server that I would pay by cash. Then she didn't leave away and was always peeping us. Unprofessional and narrow-minded.

One of the best seafood meals I’ve had in Vancouver! The service was great, our server was very informative and helped us pick some great options from the menu. My only feedback would be for the hostesses. They seemed a bit unorganized and frazzled when we arrived a little earlier than our reservation.
Otherwise a great experience!

We were seated on the top floor and it is far too noisy to talk. If we return we will sit at the bar or request a table on the ground floor. The noise is a little less there. The food is very good, Caeser salad that we shared. Very nice. The salmon wellington is my favourite. We both took home quite a bit.
Wine was nice.

Business dinner for two, seated near the wine cellar so noise level was perfect for carrying on a conversation however with privacy. The food was excellent and fish cooked to perfection.

We had a very pleasant birthday dinner at this restaurant. Our waiter, Zach, was very attentive throughout our meal. Our table was situated nicely on the top floor, although there was a cool breeze as we were near an exit door. There did seem to be a bit of miscommunication between the food runners and the wait staff. We never received bread at our table until I asked for it, which may seem like a small thing, but nice to have at the salad course. The bussers seem very confused with our water too. Those having sparkling water received flat and visa versa! Overall, a great evening. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family. We will be back!

We loved everything about this restaurant. Some people think it’s too loud but I really liked that type of loudness . The live piano players as fantastic and the food and service was outstanding.. can’t wait to go back!!!

That was our first visit to Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House. Great location in the hart of the Vancouver Downtown. Nice and very populated ambient, cosy piano music. Very friendly staff but very busy.

Table for two was tiny and the space between the tables was minimal. The seafood was fine but nothing to ‘wright home about’. At the end of the evening we left with the filling that we did not get for what we paid off.

We went there for their Eggs Benedict Special and had made reservations. I'm glad we did as the place filled up quickly. Service was excellent even from those filling the water and coffee. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. The food was very good. We had the fried chicken benny and a regular eggs benny. The chicken was cooked nicely and was still moist - it was thigh meat which I like. It was enjoyable to have it served on cornbread that was neither too moist nor too dry. It didn't fall apart when cut. We loved the bacon used with the regular benny. The only issue was that the potatoes were a tad overcooked. We would definitely go back again.

We had the fish trio. Everything was excellent but the Salmon was a bit old. The fat layer near the skin was brownish and made the meat a bit strong in flavour... Otherwise awesome. I'm used to fresh fish so I am picky this way. The others who are not from the coast loved everything as they ate it all... quickly

Amazing food, good value for quality, presentation, taste and portion. Ordered the dine out menu, you will not be disappointed. Staff was attentive, helpful, and regularly refilled our water and checked up on us. We will be back.

Interactive and sincere services from the waitress/waiters. Portions are way more reasonable comparing to restaurants with same price range. Could kind of work on dessert but at least there’s a dessert menu.

A fantastic brunch, lovely restaurant with so much character, service was awesome, waiter made sure we were well taken care of, endless coffee, amazing food, Key Lime pie was a treat! Will definitely return for dinner and a taste of some of their huge display of wine!

We went for Dine Out and had a fun evening with friends. My table mate kept saying she felt like she was on the Titanic because the decor is very old world, which is part of the charm. Food was good, service was a little uneven (they kept placing the plates with the wrong diner) but overall our server was very professional and had a good sense of humour.

I was so excited to finally go and try out the restaurant during dine out as we like to try the nicer restaurants at this time because we expect the restaurant to showcase what they do best. The servers and waitresses that we have were fine, so were the hosts and parking valet. What we were surprised was that we sat in an isolated corner because we are a party of 5- and were hoping to be more in the setting with the rest of the restaurant. We were by the door of the rooftop patio and it was quite dark and door was ajar. I’m sure it is fine in the summer when the restaurant is frequented for the rooftop patio but I guess in the middle of the winter, not so much. We did get good tablecloths instead of paper.
Our group of 5 all ordered the New York Steak 8 ounce. The side dishes were fine but 4-5 of us noticed grisly pieces in our meat- we know if we were doing a barbecue at home we might expect it but steak is their main specialty (chophouse) so we expected better quality. We just chalked that Dine Out people will get lower quality which is too bad.
Also, because our dinner was at 8:30 reservation the server mentioned later that I could not have the dessert ordered due to selling out. A little disappointed because they mentioned at the beginning that dessert was not on their regular menu. I opted for the other dessert.
Side note, we ordered an $80 Okanagan wine, shucked oysters and tip accordingly at least 15%. We have also travelled to multiple International countries so we are abreast with steak and restaurants therefore due to the steak it leaves us questioning why the downgrade? Is it always about quantity not quality?

I thought that the Service was excellent. The food was okay. Nothing that stands out though. The seating was uncomfortable. I had to sit on the bench seating because my date complained about how uncomfortable it was. And yes, she was right, it was extremely uncomfortable. But I would rather be uncomfortable than allow the person I am with to sit there for the evening.

Jennifer was absolutely wonderful and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the trout and it was perfectly done. Everyone loved their steaks. My daughter’s nut allergy was looked after and I felt totally at ease. I am really glad I followed Jennifer’s suggestion for dessert, the chocolate tart was a pure delight.

Went for dine out and both my wife’s and my steak were tough and rubbery even though they were both cooked perfectly to medium rare. Also felt rushed to get in and out as they were busy. Spent a decent amount of money at the happy hour before hand as well so our total spend there was quite high dollar wise. Overall I don’t think I’ll be visiting any time soon as the quality and value for money just isn’t there anymore in my opinion.
