The view was beautiful but the noise level was so high we could barely have a conversation. We ordered calamari and it was mediocre at best. The croutons in the Caesar salad were like plain chunks of bread. The tomatoes in the wedge were awful. The filet mignon was very good but the fish was alittle dry..
Our server Keith was very attentive
Birthday celebration with 4 adults. Food was excellent except both my husband and my plates tasted like they had been under warmer for awhile. For these prices, I expect food straight from the kitchen. Waiter was Joe and he was 5 stars.
it was my girlfriends birthday. we had reservations at 9. we got there 10 minutes early. we didn't get seated till 920. than we finally get seated. we didn't get drinks or any bread to the table for 30 minutes. than we finally order and get our food. my girlfriends food comes but they forgot my food. so my girlfriend didn't want to eat alone so she waited. 20 minutes passed by and they finally got my entrée in . by that time all our sides were cold and so was my girlfriends food. Thanks Joe muers for ruining her birthday dinner
Outstanding. Made our sons graduation memorable. Food is second to none as is the service. Best restaurant in Detroit.
Was a fabulous experience
Said was fantastic!!!
We loved everything about our dining experience. Can’t wait to go back!
The food and service were top notch. However, this was a special occasion that was not treated as such. We had booked our reservation over a month in advance and had requested a window seat. This request wasn’t honored and we were given a very small table far from the window. We understand that everyone wants a seat with a view. However, it is something that should be honored when requested well in advance for something special. Thanks, Joe Muer, for making us feel like everyone else on our special day.
So nice, good view of river, delicious menu, friendly professional service, great wine list, including reserve listing.
My first experience at Joe Muer was for my partners birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. The placement of our table was perfect. We did not feel crowded nor were we close to any other dinner parties. Also, the view of the river and the Canada skyline with the occasional ship floating by was like a fairytale. The server was both knowledgeable and hospitable and took care of everyone in the party as if he knew them personally. That added so much more quality to the experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the downtown area looking for a quality mea and service.
Just an outstanding experience from start to finish. Katrina was our server and she was exceptional. Thank you for all your great service. Food was exceptional with a beautiful view of the city of Windsor. Highly recommend Joe Muer to all that go to Detroit.
Had dinner prior to event at Fox Theatre. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding, as was view of waterfront. Never felt rushed.
Very good atmosphere with phenomenal food. The service was exceptional.
we all felt the food was better at the detroit location vs bloomfield hills. our meals were excellent but it was a little noisy because the piano player was right next to us. we had a wonderful booth overlooking the water.
Joe Muer Detroit has very professional servers, excellent food quality and presentation, and great views of the river.
Another great meal! This place never disappoints. Will be back again
Great restaurant, delicious food, great view. Thanks to Miguel for a great table and Wayne for outstanding service!
Seafood is great and the service is outstanding. It is a special treat!
Requested window seat, was not honored. Understand though that everyone wants to a table at the window, so not a big deal. Instead however we got a table in a corner where the waiters brought dishes and others picked them up, so there were constantly people walking close around our table which was very unnerving. Service was fine. Food absolutely excellent but delivered with very little time between courses. Since this is not a fast food restaurant I would expect some time in between. Ambiance was ok I guess for American standards. I was on a very rare date night with my husband but we had expected more from this.
Food was good. Noise level was really high! Even sitting right next to my husband, we both felt like we had to yell to have a conversation. Service was fine, but inconsistent. We watched a manager go around and check on every table but ours, and warm towels be passed out to other tables- not us. We also felt like the restaurant itself is outdated.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS!
The food was wonderful. The view as well. Service was outstanding. Of course, it was expensive, but that was expected. My only problem was that we were sitting right next to the piano player, and she played during most of our time there. It's a nice touch, however, this did impact hearing conversation.
Very nice, classic feel to upscale dining, with piano bar, good cocktail menu and friendly staff. The food however was similar to a pre-made banquet and was very disappointing, especially for the hefty price tag.
We came here to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary, it was AMAZING! The food was excellent, staff very attentive! Couldn’t have asked for a better night!
Great food, amazing staff with incredible views of the river and Canada. Absolutely worth going to.
Great location great wait staff great piano bar great sushi choices, Just added a vegetarian option , wise move . Great view of Windsor Ca , great for a large party
Totally disappointed, did not meet expectations! My server was excellent.
Joe Muer's is a real gem nestled in the Renaissance Center. The service is outstanding - I have never been disappointed by the attentiveness of the wait staff. They are true professionals who anticipate what I would like - this is the mark of an exceptional staff. The food is excellent. I highly recommend the lobster roll. It is my go to comfort food! There are always daily specials which are delicious. The ambiance and view of the river take this restaurant over the top. I highly recommend you have lunch or dinner here!!!!
Staff so friendly that our waitress addressed us the entire evening by our names; wine served elegantly; food so unique, fresh and flavorful. management stopped by / wine som. also. Expensive but not more than the other very nice restaurants in the area that I've been to; this is what I'd expect to pay for quality like this.
Beautiful view of the water. Friendly staff. Food is a bit heavy.
The view of the water was perfect. The food was very good. With large portions. The service was excellent. Very attentive.
Great Food, Great Service and great view of the Waterfront.
Service is always impeccable. Very nice dining room that has a live piano player / singer often which can make the noise level vary depending on where your table is. The seafood, drinks and steaks are delicious, I recommend the surf and turf, lobster bisque and an asian pear martini.
The service was excellent. Our server Katrina, was awesome. She exemplified excellence the entire night! Her recommendations were on point. On her recommendation, we ordered and enjoyed the appetizer, entrees and the desserts. The entire night was awesome! We actually requested her card to request her when we return!

The evening was awesome. Our server was amazing and our food was absolutely delicious!
Dinner was absolutely delicious. We had sushi for an appetizer and our main course of steaks were phenomenal. Dessert is a must here, so save room!
Everything was just perfect and the service was the best! Bridget made our anniversary celebration special!
From the seating to the service to the food, AMAZING!!!!
Excellent food, excellent service! Only knock was it was quite loud, but energetic.
