Joe Muer Seafood - Detroit Ratings and Reviews
Amazing first experience! Sayerd was our server and he did an outstanding job!
Food was amazing and our waitress was helpful and attentive.
We had a great evening. My fish was salty but may be inherent to monk fish.
Excellent food, excellent service...great experience! The steelhead salmon was delicious, and the executive shrimp took three bites to finish.
They steak, sushi, salad, mac and cheese anf everything else was amazing!! Great service too!
Great view with good food in a quiet atmosphere with white table clothes and napkins. One of Detroit's best.
As per every visit to Jo Muer Seafood restaurant, the service and food was excellent. Our waiter, William R (113) was very, very good. He explained the menu options in depth and was very attentive during the meal.
Delightful evening! The staff made our special occasion even more special.
Server was very nice, very professional, very attentive. Even gave a special treat at the end that we weren't expecting. Beautiful view.
Outstanding service. Great menu, and the entree was fabulous. Pricey, but worth the cost, an incredible dining experience in every way; plus a fantastic view.
Excellent experience, the food was prepared and served quickly and hot!
The seafood was the best our diners have ever had!! The restaurant needs to expand the menu to a few vegetarian selections. The coconut cake was fabulous and the service was superb. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Joe Muers is always an excellent experience. The service is excellent and the seafood is top notch.
We had the crab-stuffed flounder and the Dover sole. Both tasted great. The sole in particular was very expertly prepared, de-boned perfectly at table-side. Since it was our anniversary dinner, we also had the lava cake and the New York cheesecake. They were both wonderful. Wonderful views from our table of freighters cutting through the ice in the river. We had a great experience in all. We'd definitely recommend Joe Muer for a fantastic night out.
Always a fabulous experience to enjoy a great meal in a beautiful, comfortable atmosphere while being made to feel welcomed and special by all the staff, especially your assigned waiter or waitress.
Amazing food & awesome atmosphere! The desert was to die for. Great overall experience celebrating our 3 year anniversary!
The food and service was excellent. Our only criticism was we were at a booth between 2 very loud tables. We probably should have asked to be moved. Did not ruin our evening. The view was awesome of the river. A little confusing finding valet.
Joe Muer Seafood in Detroit never disappoints. Was introduced to the original Joe Muer Seafood restaurant on Gratiot Ave. at E. Vernor in 1975. Being seated riverside only improves the experience! Amazing seafood and the at-your-table service exceeds expectations! (The latter from Sa'īd ("Sa-eed") this last visit!)
Checking in at the hostess counter was our only downer (It would be great to replace the numerous young people who appear behind this first stop for clientele with the type of very courteous, formal maitre d' I recall from visits at the original who made a great first impression--you knew you were someplace special.)
Perch, salmon, you can't go wrong w/the seafood here. You may want to ask the kitchen restrain from the copious amount of mashed potatoes. Desserts to die for. Enjoy!
This is a great restaurant and dining experience for any occasion. The service is excellent and so is the food. The desserts are also great!
Felt like the server was in hurry. The food was not as good as what we had last time.
Fantastic food and service. A regular stop for me in Detroit
Took my boss here and he enjoyed it a lot.
The food wasn't as good as I was used to! They menu changed. I really love this place but don't like the new lobster. Probably won't be going back soon.
it’s was very enjoyable experience overall.
My expectations are always exceeded when I dine at Joe Muer's in Detroit. I took friends there to celebrate the holiday on three different occasions. Each time, the service, ambiance and food were 5 star!!! This is my go-to place when I want to experience dining at its finest!
This place has amazing food and drinks! I would highly recommend it to anyone celebrating that special occasion!
The food and service was phenomenal! Joe, our server, was friendly and knowledgeable. Timing was good. We weren't rushed, and didn't have to wait long, either.
The troubles came after dinner. Their free shuttle left us at the FoxTheatre. I have a medical condition where I have to go to the bathroom frequently, so after the show I HAD to go. When we got out side, no shuttle. I called the driver, and she said no, there's only one trip. We were NOT made aware of this!!
We had to take a cab back to the restaurant. Then, we paid for parking at the machine. The next day my credit card was blocked after a fraudulent charge was flagged. The last place I used it was the kiosk.
So dinner was fabulous! Everything else, not so great.
We were greeted immediately
The ambiance was exceptional especially the view
The pianist played but unable to really hear from the back of room
Our waiter Scott was great. Very informative and attentive. Great wine selection
The view of the port and water was nice, creating a great date/bday celebration with my hubby
The manager was great too.
We didn’t dress as sophisticated as the other guests, nevertheless, we weren’t treated any less special
Food and service were top notch. Love going there!
Never fails to impress, best place. Food and Service are just awesome.
Food and service were fantastic. Had a great table with view of the river.
Keith our waiter was exceptional and took very good care of us. He was knowledgable and really cared that our dining experience was important. Made request when I booked for a table with a view and they came through. Overall, food was great, price point was fair and staff were exceptional. Will certainly return. Thank you
Going there for 40 years and have never been disappointed. Great carry over from Gratiot Avenue.
Excellent as usual!! The surf and surf was fantastic!
Service was on the slow side. Valet parking experience was awful. Valet staff was unorganized, slow, rude and not interested in delivering great service.
WOW!! What a beautiful place to have a nice quiet dinner with fantastic food and wonderful service!! Diablo Tiger Shrimp, my favorite dish there. Oyster Rockefeller is great! Truffle Pomme Frites, delicious. Carrot Cake to die for!! And you must try The Black Orchid Martini.
Great service awesome evening
Keith was wonderful and I like his business cards in order to get him again next visit
Wonderful staff and service!
Waldin our server was not very attentive. He did not go over the the menu, chef of the day options with us. He did not even tell us his name when asking us "what do we like to eat." That night was a very special night. I propose to my girlfriend that night. The co owner save the night by apologzing sincerely for Waldin behavior. He also gave us a bottle of champagne for the night
