Fresh stone crabs are found in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. They are hand harvested, one claw at a time, and thrown back to the sea. Joe Weiss, and his wife Jennie, discovered this unknown delicacy in the early 1920s, and soon after, began serving them at their restaurant in Miami Beach. What a great experience! Our first time at Joes. Not our last. Look forward to coming back. Everything was first class. Our head server Jenny was delightful. She was a seasoned pro & had excellent people skills. Her assistant was excellent too. Our seafood tower was wonderful. Miso seabass & filets were memorable. We were in town touring colleges for our daughter + celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We received complimentary prosecco as well as a dessert. We also ordered the pb pie & banana cream pie-half slices. My daughter had the peppermint ice cream with hot fudge topping. All wonderful. Thank you for making our evening so special.

We visited because we visited the Joes in Vegas and it was an amazing first experience. However, this one not quite. The food was not the same. It lacked flavor. I am someone who notices when things are too salty and this lacked salt. We ordered medium well steaks and one came out medium rare. The remainder of our food we asked to box it to go. We never got it back. We weren’t so pressed about it but we did make note of it. 5 stars for the key lime pie. We do appreciate the small gestures of champagne for our anniversary and anniversary dessert.

The waitress, while attentive, appeared unhappy/unenthusiastic. The gentleman refilling the water glass accidentally broke my friends glass and spilled water all over her. He didn’t apologize or provide extra napkins, just smiled oddly and moved us to another table. The crab claws were cracked into tiny shards and candidly, didn’t taste as fresh as usual. None of the hot food brought out was actually hot. Normally this place is always great, the South Beach and Vegas locations are wonderful. Not sure what’s going here, but I’m wagering it’s a management issue.

We went here for my 40th birthday and had the most incredible experience. The service was phenomenal and the space is simply beautiful. I ordered the famous stone crab which was the most incredible meal. Highly recommend Joes and will definitely be back!!

Joe’s has a great location and has the pieces of a great restaurant. But putting them together on Mother’s Day was too much. They seated me next to the door despite many open tables. The medium-rare steak I ordered was medium-well. The fries were cold by the time they hit the table. And, sitting by the door meant I got to hear managers chastising wait staff for real or perceived wrongs. So not only was QA missing in the kitchen, the front of the store slipped up too. This was Mother’s Day, admittedly. They probably worked the kitchen and waitstaff to the ends of the earth between brunch and dinner service. But I walked out of dinner for one $125 lighter without alcohol, those are not excusable errors for this price.
