Joso's Ratings and Reviews
Food is amazing service is impeccable. It’s our favorite!
Excellent Service. The food we had was really Amazing!
The food is always prepared perfectly. Some of the best fish in the city.
Eveything was great!! Food, service. Amazing experience.
Only words to describe is never disappointed and amazing food
Mediterranean fish in Toronto???
If you like old fish you will love this place.
Went on a Friday so no excuse.
On top of the lack of anything fresh on the menu
(We tried 10 dishes) they don’t cook to well ether...
Risotto Milanese with porchini in it???
There is a reason that is not in the original recipe, it’s too just many flavours. And it’s brown ...
If you are a foodie don’t go here.
Loved the decor, who doesn’t like boobs... ?
Excellent dinner but simple. Wine selection was excellent and service outstanding. Definitely will go back.
The best restaurant for Mediterranean cuisine in Toronto have been going there for the last 33 years, same ambiance , same quality .The best
Excellent fresh seafood simply cooked as well as attentive wait staff.
One of the best restaurants！！！Squid ink pasta, fresh grilled fish and fish soup, highly recommended to try！！！
Always fresh and very taste fish nice atmosfere good service
Fabulous sea food in a unique restaurant with definite character. Walkable to off-Mirvish. Expensive but worth the treat!
Had a really great time at Joso’s for my mom’s birthday. Food was delicious, staff were super friendly. They turned off the lights and music and got the entire restaurant to sing happy birthday - a fun (albeit embarrassing) celebrations
We have been going to Joso's in the last 20 years more than I can count.
Excellent, authentic food in a vibrant, eclectic setting. A must see for foodies!
6 enjoying a BIRTHDAY we we're able to create a family style table of our choices
Food was excellent staff really well informed we highly recommend this restuarant
The staff were very well prepared with manners and information but well balanced.
We admired the decor and overall atmosphere.
Very nice experience and most importantly delicious food and drinks.
I would recommend Joso's to anyone who appreciates the finer things in life and is willing to pay a reasonable price for that.
Amazed by the inside look of the place. Unique and cozy! It feels like dining in some art gallery! But the service was just okay. Waitress wasn't very friendly and was cold maybe because we didn't order alcohol. Food wasn't as good as expected. The grilled octopus was a bit burned and tasted bitter and not juicy. Good for one time try out if you want to experience something different, but definitely not for a foody person to go again.
A Toronto classic for the fish/Med lover!! Nothing in the city comes close to this perfection.
Always love their fresh seafood~ lovely little place to~
We went there for our anniversary and the food was Amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful! We can't wait to go back!!!
Every time nice seafood this time we had crams with garlic source and grilled octopus then sole and squid ink pasta.
Crams are very good taste and squid ink pasta is always excellent.
Best restaurant we have ever been too. It was first trip to Toronto for my sweetheart and my third. I couldn't get a table on the previous trip. BOOK EARLY! Do not wait until you are in Toronto. The food is exquisite, all with subtle tastes , super fresh seafood, and a fun and eclectcic decor that sort of takes you aback at first. We had so much fun with it, it was amazing. As my girlfriend said, "we should have eaten here last night too."
We are regular repeat guests at Joso's returning to enjoy our favourite dishes. Saturday was a real disappointment. The usual stellar fried calamari was very average and my pasta Leonardo lacked the depth/complexity I have enjoyed in the past. The most disappointing part was that I made this booking vs another restaurant thinking "I'd rather booked Joso's because I can be sure that we are guaranteed to have a stellar meal"... and I was disappointed. I really love and believe in this restaurant so not sure if one of their better chefs was off that night. It's making me second guess whether we should return.
great good，except the grilled fish.
The art deco, fun atmosphere and solid-tasting full flavoured fresh food should place this restaurant in any 'bucket list' when in Toronto!
Your reputation proceed our arrival. The food, service and atmosphere exceeded our expectations. Well done. Ta.
We decided to find and try the best squid ink pasta in Toronto, Joso's came first on different reviews, so we thought about giving Joso a try. Note staff at Joso's was very patient and helping on making several changes on my reservation, thank you.
Server quickly prepared us with water and bread so we are assured that she is aware of our presence. (Lately I have been to a few restaurants that left me waiting 10-15 minutes for water and then another 5 mins for bread) Bread was served room temperature, which is about the only negative comment I have about Joso's.
The fun thing about dining at Joso's is to browse through daily seafood selection. We got really excited over the scorpion fish, as hostess described it as "lobster-like and flavorful" so we ordered it without a doubt. Glad we did, because it was sold out by the time the table next to us wanted the same fish. We ordered the ink spaghettini as well but at this time we were more excited over the grilled scorpion fish.
The fish is seasoned and grilled to perfection, meat was crunchy and rich in flavor while it doesn't have that "fishy" taste. Had to drive home after otherwise I wish I had some wine to go with this plate to further intensify the flavor. We had ink pasta last weekend at Eataly, NYC and was curious if we can find anything just as good in Toronto. Though the spaghettini was not as well cooked as Eataly's, but overall the dish at Joso's is much more preferable to our taste buds. The flavor of the ink spaghettini is just as we imagined it supposed to be, rich in savor of seafood and fresh tasting, good job! Dish portion is just right for two to share, we didn't have to fight over getting more pasta.
We had Tiramisu for dessert to simply cleanse our palate. Without much expectation, Tiramisu ended up being an exceptional course. Taste of espresso and spirit was very well balance and rich. Price is a bit high, but Joso's definitely deliver quality to justify for its price.
wonderful seafood selection
black ink squid risotto - a must have!
Fabulously fresh fish and seafood!! Upbeat ambience with great service. One of our favorites in Toronto.
I dine at medium to high-end restaurants in Toronto quite often, and I must say that my my experience at Joso's was EXCEPTIONAL.
Easily one of the best restaurant meals I've had in quite some time. I will recommend, and I will return.
I was pretty disappointed. The quality of the food and service has gone downhill from years ago. My fish, served in its entirety, was filled with bones. Considering how expensive the menu items are, I'd like to see our fish dishes deboned, like they do at "Costa de Mare" at the Wynn in Las Vegas. The grilled octopus as also tough, not tender. I had the same type of dish at "Pappas Grill" on Toronto's Danforth the night before for half the price and it was much better. The tables at Joso's are very close together so privacy is hard to come by. Joso's used to be one of my favourite Toronto restaurants but my last 2 visits have been disappointing, especially considering the high cost. I expected more.
One of our favourite seafood restaurants anywhere!
Wonderful atmosphere, food, drink, and service. Couldn't have asked for better. Will be back.
Best seafood risoto I ever had. Waitresses are great. Just too noisy and tables a bit to close together.
Love Joso's every time, it's a real special place and it never fails to delight.
Joso's had amazing food and great service! Fresh food with a lot of variety. Would recommend for seafood lovers!
My husband is infirmed and I didn't think to mention that he can't climb stairs. Josos accommodated us on the main floor. When it came time to leave they called for cab. Upon arriving at home our house keys were lost. I called the restaurant and they said when the evening was at an end and they started to clean they would notify us of finding any keys. I called the taxi company in the meantime, and they returned the keys within one half hour. I called the restaurant and they were glad that we had found the keys. Josos has always been a destination for great sea food. I am particularly impressed as to how they responded to our predicament over and above the excellent meal.
We've been going to Josos for over a decade and it never disappoints. Perfect friendly and casual service like they know you even when they don't. The food is always top notch. There's so many good restaurants to try in Toronto that we don't go back as often as we should. Ps - the cuttlefish ink pasta is amazing. Enjoy. J
I had a very nice dinner with my boyfriend, but must say that music is pretty loud.
